  • Hey ladies - chickpea if you are still around, soooo sorry, hope you get a forever rainbow baby soon x

I am going to be a bit of a random contributor as I don't get on the laptop often but I will def be following along. Have decided to date myself 7+1, am now sure it was an implantation bleed... have got a doctors appointment on 31st so will discuss it then and see how they feel about a dating scan :) However this ime around I feel much more what will be will be, whereas the first time I was desperate for a scan every 20 minutes!

I have the crampy feeling below left of my tummy button which feels like mild period pain - am assuming (hoping!) it is normal. I also have a sick feeling all evening which is pretty unpleasant but no actual vomit yet!

Good to hear how you are getting on, Bumble sounds complicated and you are very well informed. FC for sticky beans all round :)

Gelly - I'ev had a bit of cramping in the last week and could have sworn AF was coming. And completely agree about the gagging on my toothbrush! Bizarrely I find my symptoms get worse in the evening, particularly the bloating and nausea...

AFM: I had a 7 week scan today and could see a little heartbeat! She tried an external scan first, but because of my retroverted uterus, she had to swap to an internal.

She measured me at 6weeks 6 days, which I'll take. The only thing that makes me a bit anxious is that my gestational sac wasn't round but was more banana shaped than round (and Dr Google wasn't reassuring on that), but I'm just trying to focus on that little heartbeat. She even put a trace on it!

At my 12 week scan the sac wasn't round. Congratulations x

Ditto! I had a 6 week scan & I've just looked at the pic, it was banana shaped too. No idea that wasn't 'notmal'!

  • Hi to all the new ladies! Congrats on your bfps.

Robots - good luck for today

Bumblebee - glad you are being looked after, I'm sorry that you have all this extra stress. I completely understand the new usernames everyone is using, I have done the same :-) I haven't told work or most of our families yet.

Afm I FINALLY have my scan date! It's on Monday, I feel cheated as I will be 13.5 weeks by then. They have made me wait AGES! I know I technically shouldn't be here, but do you kind if I loiter around here until then? Also, 2 pints????? Holy cow, I'm actually going to burst????? X

Another with a banana shaped sac at 7 weeks, now 33 weeks :)

Unfortunately I think a big problem with Dr Google for early pregnancy is that a lot of people who have lost their baby are desperate for there to be a reason behind it (understandably so) so you get a lot of 'this is a bad sign because i had it and lost' but in reality it's just an unfortunate coincidence

The heartbeat is the most important thing, it shows that everything is progressing as it should :j

  • Hi ladies!

Congratulations to beckyandjack and Gelly for your BFPs and to Derby for your early scan.

Massive hugs chickpea if you're still around, my heart goes out to you.

I've been keeping quiet lately, just trying to get through this difficult early bit as best I can. We got our scan date through for 7 January. I know it's not long but it feels like ages away! At least we have an early appointment so OH will be able to come too and we won't be worrying about it all day.

It's my last day at work today and I'm fit to drop. Can't wait to have two weeks off (I can't remember the last time I had such a long break, it's been years!) and just sleep.

    WD x
  • Hi ladies, thanks for the well wishes.

I found a bit of spotting this morning. Brown but with a redder small clot. I'm glad the scan is soon but I'm now scared. When I started my periods all those years ago it was heralded by me throwing up in a kitchen sink. I can't help but relate yesterday's to something changing.

Thanks for the advice though. It's too cold for tights so jumper dress and baggy cords. Plus yes I checked the letter and it is 2 pints! Shame . Have a nervous bowl - I really hope I make it.

  • Big hugs Robots hope everything is ok for you. Try not to worry too much. I had loads of bleeding early on and I think it's very common and not necessarily something sinister.

Is it normal that you have to drink so much for a scan? My letter says that I don't need a full bladder. Does it vary depending on what equipment the hospital uses?
  • Good luck with your scan today robots I hope the spotting turns out to be nothing to worry about x
