    Hi ladies,

Thank you so much for the warm welcome - it's all a bit new for me as this is my first pregnancy so I have absolutely nothing to compare it to - what a learning curve!

I must admit, it's been a strange few days - I've felt like I've had mild cramps for 3 days now, about 2-3 inches below and to the left of my belly button - a bit like I'd get just before a period. Does that sound normal?

And also, not sure if it's because I now know but I can clean my teeth in the mornings but as soon as I try to clean my tongue - I gag - isn't it a bit early for that?

I'm 4+3 so very early days.

Just lurking to say I was gagging on my toothbrush from about 5 weeks. I still do a little now :)

  • Hi Gelly,

Everyone's different -- but that sounds completely normal to me!

I've had tummy cramps throughout so far (about 10+4 now), but I don't know what's caused them (could be my underlying conditions...). And I have a terrible time brushing my teeth - have from the outset (I found out I was pg around 3.5 weeks because I have short cycles). Brushing my teeth often leads to retching for me!

Gelly - I had intermittent cramps for 2-3 weeks after we found out as well, about 1-2 inches below my belly button on the right hand side. And the gagging at brushing the tongue - Had that since right before we found out at 13 dpo! The gagging has just gotten worse, but at least I haven't actually been sick from it, knock on wood!

Gelly - I'ev had a bit of cramping in the last week and could have sworn AF was coming. And completely agree about the gagging on my toothbrush! Bizarrely I find my symptoms get worse in the evening, particularly the bloating and nausea...

AFM: I had a 7 week scan today and could see a little heartbeat! She tried an external scan first, but because of my retroverted uterus, she had to swap to an internal.

She measured me at 6weeks 6 days, which I'll take. The only thing that makes me a bit anxious is that my gestational sac wasn't round but was more banana shaped than round (and Dr Google wasn't reassuring on that), but I'm just trying to focus on that little heartbeat. She even put a trace on it!

Oh wow Derby - that's amazing news! Massive congratulations - I can't wait until we can have our first scan and we're hoping to go for a private one at around 9 weeks although I'm not entirely sure I can wait until then and might have to squeeze a cheeky one in around 7 weeks ish....

Thanks for all the reassurance about the gagging on the toothbrush - I thought it was way too early but it seems not! :rotfl:

Am so delighted to finally be over on this board - it's been a long journey since November last year and I know so many lovely ladies have not had the easiest of journeys. Just hoping we are all able to move onto the next thread when the time is right.

  • Congrats Derby, great news.

My thoughts are with all those who have had bad news lately. Look after yourselves.

I had my booking in appt on Monday. Loads of questions, but the midwife was really nice. She reassured me that my lack of symptoms is nothing to worry about. I am 9+2 today. Very nervous as I have a private scan tomorrow to check all is well before we tell my family on Xmas day. We decided it would be too hard to keep it secret for the whole of Christmas. I have my 12 week scan on the 14th January which seems ages away. Time seems to be going so slow at the moment.

Feels like a bit of stretching in my lower abdomen at the moment, like I have been doing lots of stretches, so hopefully that is normal.

Due date of 22nd July, which means I will have to give up my commonwealth tickets now. oh well, at least it will be for something awesome.

    Welcome to all the newbies!

    Catch up soon.

Yay for your scan derby must be lovely to see the heartbeat

I know what you mean about tooth brushing issues, I had to stop halfway through this morning to be sick yucky, I'm also having crampy feelings and have since I got bfp I think it's normal. I almost cried today as a colleague sent am email I thought was a bit snarky, it really wasn't at all but I'm sooooo over sensitive it's unreal!

    Hugs to all x
  • I threw up today!

^ yep that's weird to be happy about! I have gagged most times cleaning my teeth, but only been sick once doing so. This morning I was washing up gagging, then wretching, them sick. Sorry TMI! Luckily we have a doubled sink!

Anyway it made me actually happy since my nausea drastically reduced last Tuesday.

Our 12wk scan is tomorrow. Eek! I'm scared. What do I wear? And holding in 2 pints of water is worrying!

  • Oh and I'm now down 10 lbs... Just another thing to worry about! I'm size 18ish but can now feel the bottom of my ribcage. Perhaps it's muscle loss since I''ve had to stop my 2 (or 3!) preferred activities!

Oh and bumblebee that's best, I underhand, no worries at all! This is an alias account due to some friends knowing my regular username.. And me wanting the privacy to post unhindered. So I completely understand.
