  • Hi all!
Welcome and congratulations to the newbies.
Wangdoodle, I hope you're feeling a bit better. It's always good to have a rant on here.
I haven't been on for a couple of days as I've been away for the weekend to the Christmas markets. I had a lovely time. I'd like to say I'm nice and relaxed but it was very busy and now I've all the washing and ironing to catch up on. I'm obviously putting it off by being on here. ;-) I'm feeling a bit more festive though and have put up the tree.
I'm still not sure what is going on with me. I have absolutely no symptoms yet. I can't understand it. My next appointment is on 20 December but I'm not sure what they will do if nothing has changed by then.
    Love to all. X
  • In the same boat as you claretsgirl. No symptoms at all. Sometimes it worries me, then other times I think I am lucky. Just want to be put out my misery and find out all is OK. I will be 12 weeks after Christmas, so we are thinking of getting a private scan the week before Christmas (10 weeks) so we can tell people as I am still finding it hard to believe despite numerous tests now just to check I didn't dream it the first time. I only want to tell people if it is in good faith, i.e. all is going well until then. 8 weeks now and still heard nothing from the midwife. No booking in appt etc. Visited surgery this morning to change my address (finally after 7 years, oops) and asked when I will hear something, and they just said they will be in contact. Frustrating. Looking forward to hearing everyones scan news later. Good luck all!

Very nearly started crying a few moments ago when I had everything ready to make a smoothie and found out that the blades on the blender are stuck! I really wanted a smoothie too. :(

Moonbabe, that's a lovely photo :) so pleased for you xxx

Did your dates change at all?

Purcy - congratulations on your news :) welcome to the thread :D

Thank you everyone :) The scan was wonderful! Hope your scan goes well tomorrow LJ9982!

I was put back 1 day so new due date of the 20th June. It is amazing how seemingly accurate the scan I had at nearly 8 weeks was for dating my pregnancy!

Think I will hang around here for another week then move on up to 2nd Tri! Still feeling a bit rubbish, described it to OH as feeling permanently a bit hungover!

  • had my scan today, thanks for all the good lucks :D

I'll post a pic when I get a chance but it was amazing, I cried, when it first flashed up on screen it was so good, I just kept saying oh my god! it was so active it turned upside down at one point turning somersaults!

only downside was how long we had to wait to see the midwife afterwards, nearly 2 hours, me and oh were both tired after a bad nights sleep and starving!

she put me back to 11+5 (I thought I was 12+2) so new due date of 25th June :)

My scan isn't until tomorrow morning (10:50am), and I've no clue how I'm going to sleep tonight!

For those lurking, how did you handle the 'must have a full bladder' thing for the scan? I have a tiny bladder anyway, and if I go more than 10-15 minutes with a full bladder, I'm in agony...

  • aw thanks Lara :) weird how we're date twins now!

mrs t_m you don't have to drink loads I don't think. I drank just less than a pint (a 500ml size bottle of volvic) and I didn't start needing a wee until she started prodding me hard with the scanner! I think it would have been harder to wait if we didn't go in on time I think bit they were running only ten minutes late. you don't have to drink 2 litres or anything ha x
  • So glad you enjoyed your scan firey!

Good luck with your scan tomorrow Mrs T M. I wouldn't worry too much about having a full bladder too far in advance, I didn't with my 2 emergency scans and the little bean was much smaller than a 12 week baby, I just drank a bottle of Oasis in the waiting room and they still managed to see what they needed. Although my appointment letter does say to drink a pint of water an hour before.

I drank a pint Mrs_T_M about an hour before and I was told baby was difficult to see because my bladder was so full giving baby limited room. (We had a view of the head for a fair amount of the scan)

I recommend you drink a few cups - it needs time to travel down and at the end of the day if they can not see well they will do an internal scan.
