    Welcome Disney, Congratulations.

Good luck for your scans Firey and Mrs TM.

  • Thanks for the welcome.

Hi purcy my first response friend. :rotfl:
  • Welcome and congrats Pluto!

Best of luck Mrs TM & Firey!

I've decided to break out the Trial pack of pregna care from the bounty pack to see if it gives me more oomph than wilkinsons pregnancy vits. I stupidly lost the prescription (actually I think the midwife did as it was inside my green booklet when she kept it, but wasn't there after) for the drs version of pregnacare. Apparently this isnt common to prescribe - it was a random dr I got a telephone appointment with when mine was away.
I've asked for a reissue so fingers crossed my dr agrees.

I'm wondering what everyone else is taking? (pregnacare? Its expensive but is it worth it? Prescribed? Or supermarket?

  • Good luck for your scan tomorrow firey, hope it's an enjoyable experience for you.

Robots I got my pregnacare in Boots, and the man in the shop told me it was on 3 for 2. I also have to take extra folic acid prescribed by the doctor because of my BMI.

Thanks aquamarine monkey... I'll take a look in boots thanks.

Im curious about folic acid now though. I'm high bmi too, and I asked about extra folic acid*, but the midwife said you can take too much which can be harmful so said it wasn't needed. I guess there's a chart with cut off points for extra.

    * I've been taking a standard dose folic acid supplement for years since blood tests said I was low in it and it helped stop me having tingling fingers etc. so I guessed I'd need 'extra' in pregnancy, but apparently not!

Doesn't your body just excrete unneeded vitamins in your pee?

Anyway these websites suggest if your bmi is over 30 you should take more

Just had a quick read of the PDF & now I know why the poor lady who I was near in the hospital the other week was given heparin to inject herself with at home. I'd be terrible with that I'd have to get DH to do it! I didn't realise it was given out so commonly I just assumed as she was in the higher risk ward she was ill or something!

Aaaaah welcome Disney :) so good to see a few people from the TTC area coming over here. wishing you and our other newbies snowy and Purcy lots of luck in your earlier weeks :) hope you aren't feeling too bad with sickness etc :)

Mrs TM and Firey - good luck with your scans today - can't wait to see the photos :):) let us know if your dates change at all :)

Tomorrow is my scan - finally - feels like it's been so long coming as we found out so early on!! i do think i might not be as far long as the dates used for LMP by doctor but we will see tomorrow - keeping fingers and toes crossed that all goes well for us all this week for those having scans :)
