  • Thanks for the welcome :)

Well I got the ok from my doctor to carry on taking my medication and have a date for my booking in appointments after Christmas so everything is starting to feel a little more real now! Not much other information from the dr apart from take folic acid(I do)and don't smoke (I don't) but I've been pouring over the nhs website all week so thats fine:D

Congratulations on the scans moonbabe and pomme and the bfp purcy. I've read some of your posts whilst lurking on the other threads so its lovely to see you here.

  • I have my booking appointment on Tuesday so I started reading through the leaflets and filling in the sections of the notes it asked for yesterday.

Last night I had some horrible stressful dreams about my booking appointment. I was so worried about getting weighed and having my blood pressure measured.

I'm fairly sure my BMI will be fine, but I know I've put on a bit of weight lately as I can't run when I feel sick and I've been (TMI) really constipated so that won't help.

My blood pressure is always borderline high and I always get a telling off for it from healthcare professionals. I really don't know what to do about it. I eat healthily and exercise regularly, I think it's just hereditary. My grandma always gets nagged about the same thing and it's bit done her any harm, she turns 89 next week.

I just don't want to end up being made to feel guilty or being placed as high risk due to my bp and age.

I don't know what I expect any of you to do about it. Just venting I guess.

Spotting has stopped completely, I hit 12 weeks officially yesterday (staying here until our scan), and I have less nausea and more energy! Woot! :j

During your first trimester, bp typically goes down a bit anyway. Mine was 170/80 (which is high for me!), and they were fine with it. If anyone makes you feel guilty, change to a different person/midwife! Even if you are put into a high risk category, it's just a few extra appointments, and if the consultant thinks you're fine, they can release you from their care and mark you as low risk if they want. Just try to work with them, most of them really do care and just want to help and not upset you!
