Hi ladies I hope you don't mind a newbie saying hello.

I've lurked on the waiting and TTC threads for a long time and have just found out I'm five weeks pregnant after trying for nearly a year. My husband and I can't quite believe it yet and arn't telling anyone just yet so its been lovely reading how you are all getting on.

I've got an appointment with my GP tomorrow mostly to discuss the medication I currently take so maybe it will all start to feel a bit more real then!

Congratulations sunshine! (Do you realise your name is in the picture though?) :)

Congratulations hun - welcome to the thread :) lovely news :) persistence pays off :P

Sorry for the delay! All is well! Baby was in a lovely position, then it decided to turn to face us so the woman couldn't get the measurements until it turned back!

But here he or she is... I have always thought boy, but now I'm thinking girl! Now due one day earlier, on the 15th June 2014. All good, just need a GTT test and to see a consultant after the next scan due to high BMI (37) and PCOS.

Either way, I'll 'graduate' and hope to see you all soon... I will be lurking for equally good scan news from you all! x x

Had a fairly good day yesterday, but wore myself completely out and ended up getting far too cold. Was out of the house from 11 until 4:30, which is huge for me! Had to breathe through my mouth for part of the time I was out, which means my throat is swelled today. Oh well, I can be lazy today and not do anything if I want, so I'm not complaining.

Ended up telling my aunt (the only one we are really close to on my Dad's side) last night, and she is super excited! I'm really looking forward to our scan next Tuesday. DH is off work from the 14th December until 6th January, and we are going to be doing loads of travelling between the 14th and 22 December to tell our UK family, then we will be calling the US family on Christmas Eve when they are all together at my grandmas house to tell them. I think we've decided to get mom to call people into a different room one or two at a time to tell them, leaving my grandma until last, and I'll get mom to take the phone out into the main part of the house so that everyone can watch my grandmas reaction to being told! I'm almost giddy at the thought! :rotfl:

I hope that everyone has a wonderful day, and anyone who is nauseous, sick, tired, or just feeling down feels better soon! Consider yourself hugged!!! :grouphug:

My grandma doesn't have internet! We can call them for next to nothing through DH's work though, so that's what we usually do on holidays.

Oh no! Could you organise that she went to your mums house or something?

My nan is always fascinated when we call my sister in Canada on Skype, she'll be like 'tell her I say hi' and were like 'no nan she can hear you already!' It's quite comical!

I'm sure however you tell her it will go down well. Ooh you could get someone to record a video on their phone & then send you the video ?

I'm hoping to have someone record it. Christmas is always at my grandmas house, so they won't be breaking that tradition, plus it's one of the very few times the whole family really gets together, so it is much easier to make one long call than multiple short ones, then telling everyone they can't talk about it yet. :o
