Less than 12 weeks pregnant club! Part 3

DS will be 3 and a bit when #2 arrives. He's 2 and a half now, and a total handful, I hope he calms down before the baby comes. I wanted a 3 year age gap as any less would be too difficult for me I think. I can't imagine coping with a newborn and DS at the moment, but hopefully he'll be a bit easier to handle by next Summer! I find it gets easier as he gets older but he has too much energy at the moment.
I've had to tell him I've got a baby in my tummy to stop him jumping on me. I think he understands as if I point and say what's mummy got? He says "baby tummy". He's not jumped on my tummy since so it's worked, but I don't know if he understands properly. I did also tell him that when the baby gets here he must be gentle with it. My mum took him to see my niece (4) and nephew (9 months) the other day and said he kept hugging and patting my nephew on the head. That's DS' way of being gentle! Bless him.
If you can't use the driving excuse then a glass of (no) vodka and coke usually works a treat. I went on a friends 30th when about 10 weeks pregnant with DS, and I just made sure I wasn't in a round, and got my own drinks, one other person knew I was pregnant so they'd occasionally go and get me a 'vodka' and coke. Nobody guessed! Just tell the barman to serve it in the glass they would serve alcohol in usually as sometimes they use those 3/4 pint glasses for soft drinks!
I'm going to be 11 weeks pregnant at my works Xmas do, but it's midweek so we're all working next day - a good excuse for me to drive then!0 -
Just a wee reminder for everyone to start getting into the habit of doing pelvic floor exercises. I can tell you from experience that it's very unpleasant getting up from your chair in the office never knowing what kind if sounds are going to emit from your nether regions...:pOther opinions are available.0

hi ladies,
Been mega busy this last week so not had time to post. All's well here, i've been feeling a bit sick in the evenings after 5pm, but nothing too bad, i haven't actually been sick, just sicky feeling. Got my scan booked in for start of december and had my first bloods done.
I have been having some mild cramps too, i think it's normal, as long as the pains aren't worse than period pains and not accompanied with blood.
So my due date (according to internet, to be confirmed at the first scan) is 11/07/2014 !
Hope you're all well ! Thankyou for the advice about pelvic floor exerciseswould prefer to avoid any uncontrolled sounds coming from my nether regions after baby's here !

Ah same age as mine then? he was born March 2011 and yes, such a handful! so boisterous and energetic ha! Really hope it;s calmed down a bit by the time #2 arrives.
I'm sure I can get over the works drinking thing somehow, will just buy my own drinks etc and it's a sunday so have hte excuse of driving hom early to work the next day.

Good luck!
i'm still trying to get hold of my local midwife, office is open 9-12 tues, weds and thurs. i'm forever ringing but it just goes straight to an answer phone, left messages, no reply :mad:0 -
busyladee welcome and congrats. I think it's common to get little niggles/pains at the start of your pregnancy but as others have said go to the doctor if you're worried. Fingers crossed you'll be ok and it will just be normal pains.
Have we heard from mrshappy yet? Came on here to see how the scan went!
chelseablue can't believe it's us tomorrow. Feeling a bit overwhelmed today worrying about mine
Getting the worst pains ever today in my right hip as well. I have a feeling this is what my midwife was warning me about when she said around the end of the first trimester your pelvis starts to tilt forward (I think) because your body is getting prepared for baby and making room. She said most times though, both sides of your pelvis don't tilt symmetrically, and it can cause pain in the side that is tilting first/more. I think my right side is first by the feel of itIt's really unpleasant
Our first baby due 25th May 2014 :T

Please don't worry chelseablue - I've heard loads of other pregnant ladies who have just had their babies on here saying they also had no symptoms at all throughout their entire pregnancies - and have ended up with beautiful babies!! I think every woman and every pregnancy is different (I'm sure there are a couple of ladies on this thread at the moment who are on their 2nd or 3rd, saying they didnt have any symptoms during their previous pregnancies?)
Everything will be fineHowever....that doesn't stop you worrying....I think it's inbuilt psychologically that as soon as they become pregnant they worry throughout the whole thing - or at least that's the conclusion I'm coming to about myself!
Not much fun really as we should be enjoying it and blooming (yeah right) but I honestly think if we weren't so worried there would be something wrong with us!! It's natural to worry
Don't worry about the hip pain either....you really don't want it I promise!! Anyway....I might have just slept funny and it might be gone tomorrow lol!Our first baby due 25th May 2014 :T

I think I'll just lock myself away in a room for the next 6 months and emerge with a baby0
