  • Next time I get weighed Im going to put my fingers in my ears and say 'la la la I cant hear yooouuuuu'

Haha yeah my next midwife appointment I might actually say look you can weigh me, as long as you don't tell me!! Although they write it in your medical notes which you then take home so the temptation to look would be too great!!

Ah well at least we have the best excuse ever to put on loads of weight lol :D my OH's mum keeps going ooh you'd better watch what you're eating you don't want to put on loads of weight and I'm like 'actually I don't really give a toss I'm more concerned with not throwing it up afterwards......!!!'
Our first baby due 25th May 2014 :T

    Maternity leave fund: £3000/£6000 :T
  • I read on one of those 'week by week' pregnancy guides that from 8 weeks you can expect to put on 1-2lb a week...I thought that sounded a lot! I'm slightly worried what I'll weigh afterwards but oh well, I'll have a lovely baby :D

Aww sorry for you, it's the sickness that makes you lose the weight isn't it. I oddly don't think I've lost any weight through the sickness which is really strange!! That's probably a good goal - definitely don't try and lose loads and loads.

Breakfast isn't good for me either :( I usually wait until I get to work, and have a cup of tea and a bowl of cereal with milk, and just eat/drink it very slowly. So far for a few days my breakfast hasn't come back up which is progress (though now my anti sickness tablets have finished that could all go to pot lol)

Pancakes would be lovely for breakfast as they are very plain, and carby - I should try those as well!! I'm far too lazy to make my own though, might get some from costco...those ones are yummy :)

It's the constant nausea (which seems to have disappeared this afternoon, knock on wood!) and the slowed digestion meaning that I can barely eat anything before I'm over-full.

It only takes me about 5 minutes to make a batch of pancakes, not counting cooking them. I'm talking about the thick american style, not the tiny really thin things. Mix it up, pour a ladleful into a frying pan and cook until bubbles pop and start staying open, then flip, count to 15 and they're done! :) If you can eat it, buckwheat is extremely filling and I believe has more protein than wheat, but it's still nice and carby. Especially if you dip them into syrup like I do! :rotfl:Buckwheat is gluten free, but I haven't found a certified gluten free brand here in the UK, seems all I've found so far is grown next to wheat fields so would be horrid for cross contamination!

Here is the recipe I use (it's in volumetric measurements, sorry! 1 cup = 8 fluid ounces)

Oh my! If that were true, we would be gaining 32-64 pounds during pregnancy!!! I know some people gain that much, but it's far from healthy. For my weight (which is way too high to begin with) they recommend to not gain more than 15 pounds, which equates to the 7-8 pounds of fluid and placenta, and the same for the baby. I have enough 'stores' for breastfeeding for years already. :rotfl:

Don't know what the recommended weight gain is for those who weigh less than me though. :o

Well I've lost a few kilos so far, but as I started at about 99K I've some to spare!

Felt sick yesterday, and some of today. I love chicken, so cooked chicken nuggets for lunch as I couldn't face breakfast... But they smelt funny so the dog will think its her birthday! So I had an odd dry yogurt & fruit bar thing from aldi ... I've a feeling I'll eat a few of them! But I don't know if the nausea is Msickness, anxiety or IBS related!

Thankyou for the well wishes re my job. I'm just feeling useless & lost so I'm not sure what'll happen. I've been looking but there's nothing around in my industry. Went to the job centre today for 1st time ever... to register as another stat, and the form asked if I have any dependants.... I really wanted to say "Yes, one entirely dependent on me for food and shelter!!"

Crikey, I've put on a stone already! Was 13 st, up to 14 now :-(
Scan date came through, 25th November :-)

  • oooh good luck tomorrow chelseablue and mysecretalias.

chelseablue I will confess that whenever I get worried because of no symptoms, I go and do a pregnancy test and compare the line to the one before. I bought a load off ebay when I was TTC so whenever I get nervous I just POAS then I'm reassured when the line is darker.

mysecretalias the inlaws are probably just excited, especially as it's their first grandchild. I can understand it would be annoying though. My MIL wanted to be in the room with me when I gave birth to DS as it was her first grandchild. I put my foot down and told OH she wasn't even to know when I went into labour but she could be first to know and visit once baby was born. In the end I let him ring her once I was in labour, on the understanding she didn't come to the hospital until I said it was OK.
I've been walking more since I got pregnant, I'm determined to stay active right up until the birth this time. Must be a very stressful time for you both house hunting and pregnant!

Hope all went well today at your scan mrshappy.

Mrs T M I was naughty today and went to a chinese buffet and got a takeaway box for my lunch, total carb overload, spent the afternoon sat in work feeling sick and cursing myself! This is the total opposite to how I was early on with DS, I was so sick that I lost a stone and a half in the first 3 months, but I put it all back on and then some by the time I had him, I put on about 3 stone (or 4 and half if you count the weight I lost at first) some of it was due to complications though, but most of it because I'm greedy! I'm aiming to try and be lighter at 40 weeks than I am today this time round - but that's only going to happen if my carb cravings stop.

Exciting times getting your scan date vseviour. I can't wait to get my scan date through but it will be a few weeks yet as not seeing the midwife til the 28th.

Oh, be naughty, we have an excuse now! :rotfl:

Just scoffed two bowls of homemade pork fried rice. Rice, sweet peas, pork chops diced up, mushrooms, soy sauce, and black sesame seeds! I wish there was more, but we've eaten it all. :o

I need to go make pancakes for tomorrows breakfast. I don't know if I have enough energy to make and cook a batch of tortillas and make breakfast burritos (bacon, eggs, cheese, mushrooms in some, then the same but pork chops diced instead of bacon in the others). I'll probably make the tortillas tomorrow and make the breakfast burritos as well as maybe some rice and bean burritos.

I'm actually hungry today! What in the heck has happened to me today?! :p

    Hiya Ladies,

Can I join this thread please. I found out I was pregnant again about two weeks ago. I had suspected for about a week but as I didn't have morning sickness (had it bad in my previous pregnancies), I wasn't sure until I did a test.

So I am definitely pregnant and the morning sickness has kicked in this week! I haven't actually been sick yet, but I think it won't be long!

My due date is the end of June (or that is what I have calculated myself) I live in France but work in UK, but this baby will be born in France so all my appointments will be in France and that is why I haven't had my booking in appointment or scan yet as the car is slightly different in France.

I wanted to come on here as I really need to talk to someone about how I am feeling and as I am not telling any of my friends or family yet, and I think my husband is getting a bit fed up with me telling him how I feel, I am hoping I am ok with discussing on here!

Thanks and hope you are all feeling ok or at least as well as can be!

    Welcome rachelet!

Ended up not making tortillas nor pancakes, but I did make 5 breakfasts: scrambled egg, mushrooms, bacon, diced pork, and cheese. :D
