  • Lol we sort of got that a bit from my OH's parents but with us it was more 'oh I thought you were going to wait until you'd brought a house'. I don't quite think they get the fact that I'm 28, my OH is 30, and in July we were told by my consultant that I might not ever be able to have children.....even though we have told them that's what we have been told! It's like they expected us to just wait for the perfect time even though we might not ever be able to have a chance....!!

Oh wow then you are very lucky and they are very silly to not to acknolwedge that. Husband and I had the house first, then a long time till engagement, then years till the wedding... No one is ever happy! I think whenever it happens must be the perfect time :D

We went in at 9:20, and were out by 10:45, but it's difficult to get blood from me! She loved the fact that I had been stalking the other boards and kind of knew what to expect and what she was talking about too. :)o

... From the past 12 week board etc? Im too scared to look!

  • I walked to TKMax at lunch today, they had no maternity stuff at all :( peacocks had nice looking jeans but I'll leave that for now!

Home Bargsins had a special pillow for £19.99, one of the huge 'U' shape ones. I saw ones shaped like a fat curvy comma ' , ' online and thought they looked comfy.

Totally shattered now. Had to begin clearing my desk at work, which was unpleasant.

I've known some of the ladies in the threads further up from the TTC board, and I like hearing news from them. Also, the big pregnancy thread is nice to ask questions in if you're wondering about something.

For example: I knew that I'd have a few extra appointments and a glucose tolerance test (with fizzy lucozade, icky!!!) because of my BMI, and I knew what the acronyms were that she was talking about (they will explain anything you don't understand though).

Each area is slightly different, so each appointment is slightly different. :)

  • Mine is at 09:40am, then I have to go to another department in the hospital and have blood taken for the downs syndrome test

Do you have to do that as well? x

EEEEK We are now at the top of the list

I know!! Top of the list!!! Not sure I'm ready for the top of the list eek!!

Er I don't think so - I do have to have bloods done (cos on my appointment card it says scan+bloods), but as far as I am aware they do the bloods in the same place. I only assume this because where they do the scans is the same place as where my midwife booking in was, and they took blood from me there. Oh well if we do have to faff around going to another part of the hosp it's just as well me and OH have got the whole afternoon off! I don't mind too much, will be mostly worrying about the scan lol!

Sorry for you having to go through the work stuff at the same time as baby stuff :( that sucks.

Tk maxx is really hit and miss with maternity stuff, the last time we went in they had loads, then Sod's law yesterday when we were actually looking specifically to buy something, they had nothing!!

Here is my little bean! The little blobby thing floating above the baby is it's hand. It was so wiggly and kept bringing it's hand up to it's face. It will only be about another 7 weeks until I have my next scan. Exciting times! xxx
  • Wahoo! It worked!!! Sorry if it is too big though xx

Gorgeous pic Vickyvics! Looks like you've got a little wriggler in there!

9 weeks today, just waiting for my scan date!!! Rung in sick to work today, I have problems with obsessive thoughts (a type of OCD) and after feeling a bit of a full sensation inside *ahem* this weekend my obsessive mind is convinced I have a prolapsed bladder or something so I'm going to the doc tomorrow to talk it through as I'm being a total blooming hormonal emotional nightmare. I decided to come off my tablets I was taking for this when I found out I was pg. Plus, I didn't want to go in anyway, on Thursday when I was last there this collague was getting stroppy as there's things my manager says I can't do now (lift heavy stuff, use chemicals, deal with potential infections etc) and she was getting rather short with me.

I think the fact I''m pregnant is finally sinking in, I was trying clothes on at the shops at weekend and my waist area was definitely bigger, and side on I'm sure I can see the start of a bump. Ever the confidence builder, my super skinny younger sister said 'that's not baby that fat was already there' how kind!!! I'm size 18-20, and she's a 6-8, so that thought keeps making me cry too! Lucky my OH finds bigger women very attractive, but still...

Does anyone believe in all these gender old wives tales? A former sugar addict (and I mean addict!), recently I've been craving copious amounts of BBQ sauce, salt and vinegar crisps and I've just polished off a delivery of tandoori chicken as I 'needed' meat! I would NEVER have made these choices pre-pregnancy, I've eaten more crisps these last four weeks than I've eaten in the previous ten years!!
  • Hey ladies, can I join please? I used these boards A LOT when I fell pg with DS (who is now, 2yrs 7 months) and just found out we're expecting again this morning!
We've been ttc for ages, did 5 months on the CBFM earlier this year (worked first time with DS) but no joy. Then lo and behold! Looks like I'm 4+6 today so due 14th July.
