We normally go camping for a weekend with friends every summer - I cant imagine going with a baby say 6-8 weeks old....If they are screaming in the night then everyone would be up!!! I know that's a silly reason.....I just cant imagine it. I wonder if we will go next year.......Wont be able to afford an abroad holiday! x0

mysecretalias I'm due around 16th-20th June, and we were supposed to go on a huge two week family holiday to Florida on 10th July to celebrate OH mum's 50th birthday. Needless to say we are 99.9% sure we are not going now! I guess the way to look at it is that the event would have been great, but not in place of a much wanted child.
Glad your scan went well becsxxx!

Thanks Aqua and Cllola. I'm 7 + 2 today, (yay!) Still cramping on and off but no bleeding. Fingers crossed it goes away soon.
Ahh all these Glasto tickets going to waste, shame! Maybe we can all hire camper vans and go when our kids are a bit bigger. That was the kind of Mum I always imagined being in my early 20s.
Becsxxx yay for your scan news! :j :j :j Nice to see more graduates.
Alias, I think if I were your husband I'd choose not to go. Just because of the long journey to Poland really. Sometimes it's better to keep things simple than to feel really compromised. He might really not enjoy it if he knows you're home alone.
Sorry to hear you're having cramps. Hope they die down soon. I'm sure it's just your body adapting. I do get similar but because of my endometriosis I tend to assume it's that.
Thanks for the wedding advice, I don't know what we will do tbh. Oh and he's not my husbandthough I have told him that now he's got me up the duff it's his duty as a man to complete the transaction so watch this space

mysecretalias not to put a dampner on things but what if you end up having to have an emergency c-section, it would be very hard to cope alone 24/7 with a newborn unless your friend moves in full time with you until he is back. I wanted a natural birth, but ended up having an emergency section with DS1 and I wouldn't have coped without constant help for the first 3 weeks. I was OK after that though. Hopefully you'll have a natural birth but sometimes things don't go to plan. On that basis I'd tell OH he wasn't going. If they are your best friends they will understand! He can always fly out last minute to attend if all goes well with the birth and you feel up to being left alone.
Hope all the ladies with morning sickness are feeling better. Mine is being kept at bay as I don't stop eating!
Excellent news about your scan becsxxx and bless your little bean waving at you!
Lara I hope the twinges and pain have calmed down a bit.
Sophiasmum DS1 turns 3 just before bean is due, but I think he will get 15 hours free from the September - but I'll have learnt to cope by then as I'll have had 2 months with 2 at home. I'll probably send him anyway in the September so he can socialise with other children and so I can have some 1-on-1 time with the baby- or a sleep if I can train baby into a routine that fits in with nursery lol.
To all the ladies that are missing concerts and holidays due to the babies being due, I feel your pain. With DS1 I had tickets booked to a concert I was desperate to attend, booked it before finding out I was pregnant, was going with several friends. The concert was the day after my due date, and I refused to give up my ticket until about 2 weeks before when I realised that if I was still pregnant I wouldn't want to risk going into labour there, and if I'd only just had the baby I'd probably be too tired. As it was DS1 was born the morning of the concert so we were still in hospital so I definitely wouldn't have been able to go. I got my money back though as a friends SIL bought the ticket off me and was really chuffed as she was desperate to go.
So glad it's Friday, I'm shattered, and I've only worked 2 days this week with having taken a few days holiday. I managed not to fall asleep in the meeting. I found it easier to stay awake when I wasn't having to stare at a computer screen!0 -
Aquamarinemonkey yeah it's all of those unpredictable things that are making me nervous tbh. After our scan next week (as I suppose my due date might change a little again) we are going to have a proper think about it I think. Again my preference would be for him not to go, but he has known the groom since they were 3 and it would be really important for him to be there if he can. Thanks for the ideas about going last minute though, hadn't really thought about that but it is a possibility - well it might have to be the only option!!
Becsxxx hope you've had a lovely evening celebrating your scan
I'm tired too tonight, everyone at home has gone out so I've just had a nice relaxing bath and I'm now sat in bed watching CSII used to hate being alone but now I love my ME time!!

Good morning Ladies. I hope everyone is well and not feeling too nauseous!
Sorry I haven't been around for a while, I have been away for a week without any 3G! I do have to say though, I have missed being on here. Telling DH all the little bits and pieces and frustrations is just not the same. Thats not to say he isn't understanding and sympathetic...he just hasn't experienced it himself.
Had a lovely week away, but was just so tired all of the time. I have worked out that I was sleeping on average 10 hrs every single night. I also ate a bit too much so this week need to be a little bit more mindful of what I'm eating.
Can't believe my scan is on Monday! I am so excited about it but at the same time absolutely nervous about it. At this point everything is ok but roll on Monday and I could find out that it's not. I'm just trying not to think about it too much.
12+6 today xxx0 -
8 weeks today!
I'm feeling quite positive.
still in bed which is so lazy. I never sleep in this long! had a hard week though and OH stayed at his friends last night so the bed to myself is too comfy to get out of! it's dark, miserable and pouring it down outside so I don't think I'm missing much.0 -

8 weeks here today as well! :j
We slept/stayed in bed until nearly 1, then DH made 'breakfast.' Ended up having a bit of a spat over how unkempt the house had become, and I think we each took it the wrong way. I ended up nearly over doing it I think, but at least the dishes are washed, recycling and rubbish are out, mattress is back upstairs, clean laundry is put away, kitchen has been swept, cabinets have been scrubbed, and upstairs has been vacuumed. DH did the vacuuming.0 -
My house is only just getting back to normal. A few weeks ago my DH was considering going and buying all new pants and socks due to not being able to find any. I found it hard getting housework done when every movement caused me to be ill. Plus the smells from the food on the dishes made me really sick.0
