sorry for you.
We are due to go as well... EDD of 3 July.... And I'm not ready to give up the idea of going just yet!!
We work there, have done so for over 10yrs. Secure central camping so I wouldn't have to face the crowds (and rarely actually do anyway as I prefer the more random aspects of the festival and the area I help run!)... So my main concern so far is getting a porta-potty! It'd be a free ticket for life if bean came then! :rotfl:
It's fine because the baby is obviously the better part of the deal :T just does suck a little bit timing wise because for one reason or another the last few years I've planned to go to Glastonbury and then not ended up going, and this year ironically we said 'we are going to go NO MATTER WHAT!!' Well it turns out I found the only exception lol.
Gosh I'm not sure I would be as brave as you and go if I was due the week after! But the free tickets for life are pretty appealing I have to say!!! Along with how blooming cool your little one would be getting to tell all his/her friends that he/she was born at Glasto!!!Our first baby due 25th May 2014 :T

Reading that made me wretch a little
Thanks all for the advice re the wedding. We are definitely going to speak to our friends and see what they say. I think I'm just erring on the side of saying let's both just decide not to go because the last thing we will need is my OH booking flights and hotel and then losing the money if baby is seriously overdue and he can't end up going. There's lots of other things we could use that money for!!
Sophiasmum we are hoping to have brought a house by the time baby comes so we won't be living with his parents still hopefully. I mentioned it to my best friend the other day and she offered to come stay with me for a few days if my OH does end up going but it's just not the same as my OH being there, especially if as you say I am tired and emotional etc. although given how close I am to my best friend I would have no qualms at all about waking her up in the middle of the night if I'm too tired to get up and change baby's nappyOur first baby due 25th May 2014 :T

Oh no, thats a shame.... But as you say this is the best reason not to! And don't give up on the idea of going ever... The kids field there is Amazing and all the kids I know who go totally love it!
Glastonbury means an aweful lots to us as a couple, for many many reasons, so we will do our best to try to go.... But I'm a nervous worrier by disposition so will not be taking any uncesesary chances. I work with 3 nurses there so that's in my favour. Plus a baby was born in our area a few years ago by the dad! but also when the punters are in its slow getting an ambulance around site should it be needed... As we found out this year when there was a seizure on our crew. So we will look into borrowing a van for the 10days. (edit: to live in there, not as our own ambulance!! Though I do know people who convert ambulances! Humm...)
And till its nearer I'm not going to stress about quite possibly not going!
I guess it'll feel better when this being pregnant thing feels more real! As you say, it's the best reason not to go!! So I guess I'll have to cancel the other festivals i do mid July and the one August bank holiday for this year at least!:rotfl:

Thanks Aqua and Cllola. I'm 7 + 2 today, (yay!) Still cramping on and off but no bleeding. Fingers crossed it goes away soon.
Ahh all these Glasto tickets going to waste, shame! Maybe we can all hire camper vans and go when our kids are a bit bigger. That was the kind of Mum I always imagined being in my early 20s.
Becsxxx yay for your scan news! :j :j :j Nice to see more graduates.
Alias, I think if I were your husband I'd choose not to go. Just because of the long journey to Poland really. Sometimes it's better to keep things simple than to feel really compromised. He might really not enjoy it if he knows you're home alone.:A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0 -
Lara, sorry you are having cramping. Are you having stretching twinges too? Or ones that feel like pinching?
I'm curious how we tell the difference! Please forgive the badly spelt alias... I am a long time contributor who needed to reclaim anonymity for health/job related posts.0 -
We are still planning on going to Greenbelt (August bank holiday), even though the little one will only be 6-8 weeks old if it comes on time. Only thing I'm worried about with it is that this year it was COLD when we were there.0
