  • Thanks Aquamarine - I am worrying but that's nothing new Ive worried through this whole pregnancy! (Noone would think this will be my 3rd baby!) I think its just the aching and bruises are reminding me all of the time how stupid I was! Seems a long time to wait now for my next scan.
That horrible taste has come back in my mouth - yuk! Am going to get myself changed and go and get some mints.

Emma I think the cm is throwing you off. There was a measurement like that on mine too that confused me, it might have been the uterus size rather than the babies size...? In any case, I'd go with 10 weeks for now and if the cm measurement is still confusing you ask your midwife /next sonographer at your 12 week scan. From the pic, it looks more 10 weeks than 16, to me.

I agree. If there's something on your scan pic saying cm that's generally uterus size.

Did your sonographer not type a report and stick it at the back of your notes? They should have put the baby's measurement in mm.
  • Thankyou to everyone whos replied! :) i think i may be getting a bit confused about it all, I'm not sure, I'll ring up in the morning and double check just for piece of mind, but i suppose the main thing is that the baby's all snug and healthy and wriggly! :) they didnt give me anything except the scan pic, but i have my 12 week scan with the midwife in 3 weeks so hopefully itl clear a few things up.

Congrats to everyone on here on their pregnancies too! Been reading through for a while and got so much advice from you all (first baby, unplanned but so happy, just a newbie to it all)

    Thanks again everyone :)

Sophiasmum I had a fall at 23 weeks and called the midwives who said that as long as there's no pain in bump, leaking in fluid or bleeding then there was no need to be examined

The risk from a fall is of placental abruption and you'd have to fall pretty heavily straight on to bump for that to happen, like straight forward without putting your arms out

  • Congrats Pommeverte and Aquamarine and emmaclaire!!

Thanks all for your advice re the dizziness. It was definitely pretty scary. It's ok now but I am definitely going to see the doctor next week because I've been getting a lot of nosebleeds and a slightly sore throat so I guess there's the possibility it could be that dodgy ear thing!!

Just sat in bed at the moment having a lazy Sunday morning with the boyfriend, he's busy writing lists of all the chores that need doing today and I just feel tired and want to go back to sleep.....:D

Well, a reassurance scan was worth EVERY penny! I feel so much happier now, seriously beforehand I was having diarrhoea from the stress thinking we were going to be told the pregnancy wasn't viable or something... We were in there about 15 minutes, she confirmed the baby is growing in the right place and that there is only one! She said it was hard to tell at the minute but my dates seem about right, the computer put my EDD as 20th June rather than the 16th but I'll wait until my 12 week scan before changing it here or anything.

Then, best of all, we got to see the heartbeat!! There was a big plasma screen in front of me, and no matter how much she zoomed out you could see the heartbeat flickering away! I'd have paid five times as much for that, it was just magical.

Sat here after going out for a celebratory meal with OH looking at my two little pics, that resemble tiny beans, but it's our baby!!

:T Yay - great news. We've booked a reassurance scan for when I will be either 8 or 9 weeks. Just waiting for confirmation of the date. They can do us in 2 weeks when I will be 7 weeks but we decided to try and wait a little longer if we can as want to increase the chance of being able to see the heartbeat.

    Hope everyone is well X

The 10cm is the size of your uterus not the size of baby :)

Morning everyone - been awake for ages chatting to OH and DS.

I hope you are ok sophiasmum - google is not great sometimes. It does hold a wealth of information but it always puts the frighteners in me.

I am still fighting all day sickness. I thought it would start to wear off a bit but I think I am in for a longer haul. I dare not think about a whole pregnancy of sickness.

I am catching up on the X-Factor so I could skip through it. I hate the fact it is way too long. Love having the ability to record programmes.

  • Just thought I'd share with you a hilarious moment I'm currently having. I'm sat here in bed in my pjs (still) whilst my OH stands at the end of the bed berating me for all the clothes I've scattered over the end of the bed and on the floor over the last few weeks and he's gotten so annoyed that he's now tidying it all away.....

Usually it's the other way around.....and I'm just sitting here grinning innocently.....

10 weeks today...I'm sure I'll get that burst of energy soon :D
