rang in sick today as I feel so sick and horriblehardly got any sleep. I'm starving but can't eat anything without feeling more sick. I feel lazy just sitting about so I tried to do some housework, hoovering and cleaning the kitchen but now I feel worse. no win situation!
No I don't work for the NHS. I work for the old UK Border Agency which is now UK Borders & Immigration within the central Home Office. So I'm a Civil Servant - I assumed all civil servants got the same package as we did but maybe it does vary from department to department? Our first baby due 25th May 2014 :T

Lara44 - I have to do some of my essay. But the house is a tip. I can't clean it as I feel sick and I can't do any of my essay in a messy house, I just can't concerntrate.
Sounds like some ladies have some really good packages for maternity.3 Children - 2004 :heart2: 2014 :heart2: 2017 :heart2:

cllola - maybe you're right - maybe it varies from area to area within the NHS. Which doesn't seem right really! I would probably query that, make a fuss, you might get something extra out of it...though doubtful I guess lol
I do definitely count myself lucky working for the Home Office - yes I could be on triple the salary I am if I worked for a private company with my project management etc qualifications, but the benefits are so good here that I won't move for the forseeable future. Especially given now I have another life to worry about apart from just me and the boyfriend!!Our first baby due 25th May 2014 :T

Hi ladies, can I please join you?
I've been lurking here since getting my Big Fat Positive on Saturday! :j
I couldn't really believe it, and it didn't feel real until my Drs appointment yesterday. He didn't confirm the pregnancy but as I'm on other medication I guess I wanted him to reassure me.
This isn't my first MSE post, despite what it says. This is an alias account as I have family and friends, and one nasty ex friend also on MSE. I didn't feel confident knowing they might find out here. I did check out Mumsnet and Netmums etc but didn't like them... MSE is my online home! I don't believe I've 'met' any of you elsewhere on MSE, I wouldn't want you to think I'm odd! Please forgive the badly spelt alias... I am a long time contributor who needed to reclaim anonymity for health/job related posts.0 -

Most definitely just as easily done as said for me at the moment....my boyfriend has been doing every smidgen of the housework since we found out.....:D
I just keep telling him....I'm sure I will get that burst of energy soon dear.....:D
(To be fair to me though I do tend to need a ten minute sit down after just walking up the stairs at the moment! Bit of a shock to me as I was in the gym 6 days a week every week before finding out!)Our first baby due 25th May 2014 :T

Welcome robotsindisguise and many congratulations to you
I did the same in creating a new name because a couple of people in real life know my user name. I was originally intending on swapping back to my original username after we came out of the closet but I will probably just stick to this one now!!Our first baby due 25th May 2014 :T

Been to my doctor, he has prescribed an anti-emetic but its not cyclizine so fingers crossed it works. He also booked my midwife appt and has sent off for my 12 week scan appt. Was very impressed with his efficiency.
Waiting for the scan ladies here too.......
Welcome Robotsindisguise, we are a nice friendly non-judgmental lot
