Congrats on the scan sophiasmum! Was logging on from my work Halloween party last night to wait for you!
Fingers crossed for everyone having scans today too.
11 weeks for me today! Symptoms have definitely died down again, so just can't wait for next Friday now x.0 -

If someone sticks a pin in me later, I'll burst with all the water sloshing around!...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

I wouldn't have slept for 2 weeks. She did say a lot of people turn the internal scan down. As you say not the most pleasant of experiences but I got the end result
Just lurking and had to post - that really shocks me- how or why on earth would you turn it down? It's just a scan how could you go on for 2 weeks not knowing?! I mean a baby is gonna come out of there and if you got pregnant something has been up there already!
So pleased it was ok for you.0 -
Sophiasmum - glad the scan went well
Can't understand why someone would turn down the internal scan if needed?! I have had one before (not pregnancy related!) and yes it wasn't the most pleasant thing, but it is a medical procedure that needs to be done!
I am getting symptoms with vengeance today! Every time I cough or sneeze it really hurts my lower tummy muscles. Plus feeling ultra nauseous! Even eating copius amounts of ginger biscuits isn't helping like it usually does! Role on 5pm when I can go home and rest a little!Expecting Baby No 1 - 20/06/14 - Team Yellow!0 -

I'm actually dreading tommorow and having done the sums there's no way I'm going to manage on maternity pay. Looking like I'm going to have to go back to work once my two weeks are up. And to top it all off I've put on a whopping two pounds!!! What a crappy day!
Great news about your scan sophiasmum, must be a relief to have your edd! X
The first 6 weeks are paid at 90% aren't they? So I don't think you'd need to go back after 2? Plus you could tack on some holiday after that if you wanted so say make it 8 weeks total.0 -
What is the minimum you have to take after having a baby? Is it only two weeks?
I will get 90% for 6 weeks and then SMP as I have only been working for this company for 11 months. You have to work for the company for 2 years to get the full package which is very good but it is what it is. I hope we will manage on my OH paying what I can't. TBH I have not thought about it because that would be me getting carried away.
Still feeling so sick. Was very tired again, it comes in fits and starts.
Can not wait to hear scan news.....wonder who will be first.

Re:turning down internal scans - some people are funny but they may have a good reason I guess. I can't think of one personally. I have a retroverted uterus (tilts backwards) so baby can not be seen early on.3 Children - 2004 :heart2: 2014 :heart2: 2017 :heart2:

I found out yesterday I am being made redundant at the end of March. Not entitled to redundancy as only been there 13 months cme March and needs to be 2yrs. So not really sure what now as only work pt and not sure I would be ideal for employment being pregnant.
I would have got smp but guess it will be MA now?

sorry to hear about your job glimmerof hope....Yes if you don't get a job you will get MA.
SamToby - Im exactly the same...I 'know' the details of maternity leave but haven't even dared think that far ahead. I 'may' go into work and try to work out when I can leave on Monday though!!Get a countdown going. With my company its full pay for 6 weeks then SMP - we get the difference between our salary and SMP repaid to us over a set period when we go back to work (you have to stay a year or repay). We have started to save - that's one thing even I couldn't go into denial about! As every penny will count with buying baby things (Ive got rid of everything bar the cot from my previous 2) and money for when Im not earning.
The woman scanning implied that women turn them down because they are scared - I couldn't get my leggings down quick enough!!!
Just phoned up and changed my next scan date to 20th Nov - when I should be 12 weeks 5 days....0
