Well I am so glad things are good for you and your family. I have had to have internals in the past not the most pleasant but hey to see the baby makes up for it!3 Children - 2004 :heart2: 2014 :heart2: 2017 :heart2:

She said I could either wait 2 weeks and come back with a full bladder..(honestly no one would think I already have 2 children!) or have an internal scan...No choice in my book! I wouldn't have slept for 2 weeks. She did say a lot of people turn the internal scan down. As you say not the most pleasant of experiences but I got the end result0

Thanks - I know it's not a tragic sign, but it's not a cheerful one, if that makes sense! My mother had the same thing, and the result (me) is now 35. It's not a lot of bleeding, and very dark red, so I'm not panicked, but not overjoyed, obviously, either.
My senior clerk got it adjourned, fortunately, and it's for a solicitor I do 40% of my work for, so they know that I never, ever don't turn up at court.
Turning up at court, on time, and reliably, is seen as super-important. I think it wouldn't have made any difference if I had or hadn't gone - I'd have felt worried all the time, and wouldn't have been at my best in dealing with a very tangled and complicated legal argument.
Courts are very reluctant indeed to adjourn, and rarely like it if counsel claims illness, but in this case, they've just had to live with it. My clerk's fax said I was not in a state where I was fit to attend and assist the court, that the case was not returnable as was too complicated, so if they didn't adjourn I'd have to turn up and wouldn't be able to be much use anyway. It worked.
My scan is tomorrow, and OH is coming with me, so fingers crossed....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
Neverdespairgirl I didnt realise you were a barrister! Alot of my graduate friends are doing their bptcs now. Its quite sad watching them as I know I'll never be a solicitor now due to this pregnancy, you're lucky that your career is sorted before you have your baby.
I'm actually dreading tommorow and having done the sums there's no way I'm going to manage on maternity pay. Looking like I'm going to have to go back to work once my two weeks are up. And to top it all off I've put on a whopping two pounds!!! What a crappy day!
Great news about your scan sophiasmum, must be a relief to have your edd! X0 -
Yay Sophiasmum for a good scan
Neverdespairgirl - glad you managed to get case adjourned and wishing you all the best for your scan tomorrow. I work in professional services and I understand that its difficult to feel like you are letting people down but there is nothing wrong with putting you and your family first for a change. It's easy for me to say that now but I may need reminding of it in a month or so! I'm getting a little worried by all the client meetings that I have scheduled for late Nov/December. Some of them involve significant travelCould be a problem if the morning sickness gets me bad!
Samtoby - good luck for your scan X

Right, shattered so hubby has agreed to come to bed and watch scary films with me!we are off work tomorrow so can stay up late!

I've just got up again, having worked out that even my extremely patient OH might get tired of me wriggling and kicking him, so I'm come upstairs to make a nice cup of camomile tea before trying to sleep again.
I'm feeling very sick, and for the first time, quite chuffed about it!...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
:oMarywooyeah, Marie-20, Neverdespairgirl good luck today with your scans
Neverdespair hope you managed some shut eye
Samtoby £50 well spent I hopeTwenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."Official DFW Nerd 1365

Good luck with all the scans today girls
Learn from my experience and make sure you drink loads of water an hour and a half before going in to give it time to get to your bladder! x0
