First time around we told both sets of parents at around six weeks. I wasn't planning on telling them so soon but we were due to attend a wedding with my parents ten days after getting our BFP so told them as it was easier than having to try and hide the fact that I wasn’t drinking. We told OH’s parents as well so they both knew. This time we didn’t tell anyone, although I ended up telling a couple of close friends, as you do. But our parents didn’t know. I was planning on telling them both on Friday afternoon after the scan, especially as my parents were then going off on holiday for a week. So now, OH’s parents know what is going on and that we have another scan next week. My parents are still away so don’t know anything. I’ll tell them after the scan on Monday when we know exactly what’s going on.

I had to tell my mum and sister yesterday - had a mental block at the farm regarding pregnant women and sheep! They all wanted to go in the barn and feed/stroke the sheep and I knew there was something but couldn't put my finger on what, I was acting very strange so I told them....turns out it is just at lambing, but now they know. Will wait to the scan to tell everyone else unless they ask outright.

With our little boy we told people at 8 weeks although my mum reckoned she had guessed earlier.
I think it is tough as if the worse happens you want your family support but also you want to know all is OK before you tell people,
Hope scans go Ok today

Feeling very ill today and tired (have been up since 4.00am with LO and then working 6-11pm tonight) was going to have a nap but cannot seem to switch off.
OH decided he likes the name Wilf for a boy.....I am 5 weeks and he is talking names, lets hope its a girl then!

Going to tescos when LO wakes up to see if I can get some snack bits to keep this sickness at bay.

I told my mother straight away both times, as soon as I knew myself (after OH, obviously!)

Sophiasmum - I am literally stalking the thread for your post.

AFM - Felt really ill yesterday evening so went to bed early. I got up late as well as its my day off. Got to do some shopping as I have run out of my bits that save me from vomiting.

iv told my mum, sister and best friend. last time we told OH's mum as week but she drove me mad asking if I was okay every 5 minutes. this year we're going to get grandad and grandma cards and give them at Christmas with the scan picture in, hopefully

Feeling a bit nervous - a bit of bleeding, GP says to lie down and not move around at all until my scan tomorrow. Trying to get my case this afternoon adjourned, but lots of warnings of being seen as "unreliable", and I might have to go anyway!
