    My cat talks lol :rotfl:

Just be careful taking things from your diet at the moment. Bean might need it :)

I have got pork chops out for dinner. But I think I might slow cook them in the oven with veg so I don't have to stand over the oven, won't be great.

Just eaten a puff mince pie, two chocoalte digestives and some grapes. Still feel sick.....

  • However, I'm really struggling at the moment with not worrying. I'm just so scared that something will go wrong. :o How do other people cope with this??

I don't really have any symptoms yet. Was faint/dizzy around conception time and have had sore boobs for the past week. Also a little tired, bloated and nauseous but nothing that feels like it couldn't be normal for me!

When did major symptoms kick in for everyone else?

Wishing everyone happy and healthy pregnancies!

    X

    Congratulations!

With both this pregnancy and my first (my son's 8, now) I felt different in an indefinable way from when I missed my period, but nothing else for a couple of weeks. From about 6 weeks, I started feeling a bit sicker and more tired every day - now, at 11 weeks, I can sleep 9 hours in one go, get up in the morning, and feel ready for my bed again by lunchtime!

The tiredness went for me at about 13 weeks, last time, and while I still got a bit more tired than normal, it was far less drastic than from about 6 to 13 weeks. I'm one of those unlucky people who threw up all the way through last time, but I'm hoping <crossed fingers> that it will go away soon this time, as it's not quite as bad - while I'm throwing up a lot, it's not as much as last time and I'm not ending up on a drip through dehydration.

Symptoms really do vary - I didn't really get any bloating, my skin didn't change, neither it nor my hair were drier or greasier than normal, although that happens for some women. You certainly shouldn't in any way worry that you aren't feeling sick or tired, or that you are getting the odd spot when you don't normally, it's different for each of us.

It's easy to say try not to worry, but harder to do. Sorry I can't say anything more helpful, but good luck and try to think calming thoughts if you can!

  • Hi and welcome cllola
And neverdespair yes 8 would be easier than 18 months. I laughed at your broken leg/sprained ankle comment :-)
We thought long and hard about having another as I was so ill but every pregnancy is different so maybe the sickness will only be short term

Well, it's easy to say that it's not quite as bad this time as last - but when you are throwing up now, it's hard to actually feel pleased it's not as bad. Hope you're OK, too!

Last time, once, I was actually sick in court. I had no warning, none, and literally vomited in a courtroom. Several other times, I had to excuse myself rapidly, but that time, it just happened.

Looking on the bright side, whenever cases go wrong now - witness contradicts statement, there's a crucial piece of paper I've not had, witness doesn't turn up, whatever it might be, I can always say to myself, "Is this as bad as actually throwing up in Court 3 at Stratford Magistrates?" and the answer is always, "NO!"

That was one thing that irked me about visiting the gp to be checked. The hard poking! I mean, I know I have a layer of blubber, but seriously, ouchie!

My GP didn't even touch me, except to check my blood pressure, pulse and listen to my heart and lungs. He certainly went nowhere near my stomach - nor did anyone last time, until I was second trimester, I think?

Anyone poking me hard in the tummy would regret it, I'd almost certainly throw up all over him.

She was checking me for an ectopic and seeing if she could feel my uterus (she could, which is good) before she did an 'internal' exam.

Glad to hear she could feel it, then. I would still have puked all over her, though (-:

I've only puked once so far, and that was the night I had my bleed and thought I was miscarrying.

DH is getting the tomato soup, cheese, and some fish fingers! Yipee! Unfortunately, because it's so late, I'm having to eat a few handfuls of froot loops and a glass of milk to calm down the tummy grumbles.

I did enjoy going out on my due date, though, and answering "TODAY" whenever someone asked me when the baby was due. Worth it to see the universal panic, people couldn't wait to serve me and get me out of their shops before they had to act as midwife, I think!

With my daughter, my waters broke at 3am on the day she was born and that morning I had a routine asthma appointment with the nurse at our gp surgery. She did the usual 'ooh when are you due etc etc' when I walked in the room, and visibly paled when I said my waters had actually broke that morning and I was in early labour...
  • Hello you lovely fellow pregnant ladies!!!

This thread moves way too fast for me! I go away for one day and I've got four pages to catch up on!!!!

Phoenix that pregnancy rules thing is bloody awesome, hope you don't mind me stealing it to laminate and hand out between now and my due date!! Especially to the in laws who i fear may need to be reminded about boundaries nice the little one is born!

Thanks glimmerofhope and all for the kind comments about working and taking rest time - I think I just put too much pressure on myself all the time and feel like I should be one of the family (the boyfriends that is, I don't have contact with mine) and carry on regardless. I am determined to get more tough and rest when I need to no matter how guilty I feel about it!! Claire16c yes they have seen me throwing up constantly and they've actually been a lot better/more sympathetic than I expected them to be but still I feel because I live in their house that I can't just 100% let go and slob out like I want to sometimes :)

Becsxxx I think salt and vinegar squares form about 80% of my diet at the moment :)

Mrs_t_m I was really scared for you, am so glad things are ok. Lara44 glad your scan went ok too :) and catloverbex WOOP congrats!!! Gosh sounds like you had a long road to get to this point so many congratulations to you.

Ohhhhh I know I keep going on about it but really it must be Tuesday by now......surely?!!! Not sure I can wait much longer!!!
