Update: since the bleeding only lasted a few minutes and I've had no cramps whatsoever (I feel fine right now, just hungry), the gp's office has classed it as a slight bleed and I have an appointment with them at 6:30 tomorrow night. They will more than likely do an early scan to see what's going on.

I called my mom (6:30 am our time, 1:30 am her time) and told her what was happening. Turns out, she had a similar bleed at 6 weeks during her pregnancy with me. She had no other complications and went on to have me fine, so that's given me a bit of hope. The gp's office has said bedrest, so DH dragged the mattress from the spare bed downstairs to the living room for me so I won't be stuck upstairs (no tv upstairs).

Also, on a completely unrelated topic (hopefully this will cause at least one smile) my DH just discovered that you cannot kill a fly by microwaving it....

  • Gopppers, I really am truly sorry for your loss. It is really awful. Sending plenty of hugs and kisses your way xx

Mrs_T_M - I will keep my fingers crossed for you. I really hope everything is ok. What a lovely thing for your husband to do. Can I ask what happened to the fly after it being microwaved? Was it at all affected by the microwave?

AFM, I am waiting for DH to get out of the bath so we can go to town. He has decided to have a full on bubble bath with his book and a cup of tea. After the last 24 hrs I am now terrified of my 12 week scan. Will be 11 weeks tomorrow and for a second was considering booking a quick early scan. Not sure it would be a good idea though due to going on holiday during week 12. If it was to be bad news I'm pretty sure it would ruin our week away. Perhaps best if I just wait and see. Anyone else not had or having an early scan?

    Very best of luck.

My mother had a very heavy bleed when 12 weeks gone with me, and was told she'd miscarried - a couple of weeks later, still feeling queasy and tired, she was told I was still on my way. As indeed I was!

I have just booked an early scan for 10th November (private), at which point I'll be 8 weeks and 6 days.

I came off Fluoxetine just before I found out I was pregnant... I take it for OCD, but for obsessive negative thoughts rather than compulsive behaviours. Today the thoughts are really getting to me, and that plus reading all the bad stuff happening on this thread plus not really feeling pregnant except for period like pain all the time and very tender breasts has left me in tears today, keep crying and telling my OH that I'm sure something is wrong :(

They're too small to be affected. We microwaved fruit flies as a genetics experiment in genetics of development. Made absolutely no difference and we were still overran with fruit flies! :rotfl:

I've had a piece of plain toast and am still hungry (going to wait a bit just in case) so I think I was so sick last night due to unused adrenaline.

I can't believe it just wrote a long message and lost it all!

Firstly Goppers my heart goes out to you. I am so sorry this has happened to you again. I lost my baby just after you last time and I remember that time like it was yesterday. If you want to chat pop over to the miscarriage thread so many lovely ladies with a wealth of love and kindness. :(

Mrs_T_M- Your bleed could be a subchorionic bleed. This is a collection in the uterus by the baby that is blood clots. It is really common and can cause quite a big bleed and all be ok. Lets hope it is one of those or implantation. I have to say as well resting up is the best thing to do and try not to google away I did it and it did me no good at all after my mmc.

AFM - Really struggling even more now after all this news. I am so so frightend. I think I may step back from the thread for a few days its just all a bit much its heartbreaking.

Good luck to sophiasmum with your scan on the 31st.

    Take care all xx
