  • I don't think we've decided if we're going to find out the sex or not. We didn't first time around, and it was a lovely surprise. OH was convinced bump was a boy, I had a feeling girl, and I was right (of course...) I can argue both sides for finding out or not this timw around. I still have *all* of daughter's clothes in vacuum bags in the loft so would be nice to know if we will be using them or if I need to sell and swap for boys stuff but then I keep thinking that we have lots of neutral newborn stuff and there's plenty of time to sell the girl's stuff, it's not like I'll need to do it immediately. We were originally thinking we'd find out so we could help better prepare daughter, by being able to say that she's having either a brother or a sister, but we thought she'd be a bit older when baby arrives originally, neither OH or I were expecting the TTC-ing to be successful so soon (literally caught in first month of trying), so she'll only be 2 and a few months, so not sure she'll be old enough to understand. Anyway, to cut my random wafflings short, if baby is anything like daughter was in there then the sonographer won't be able to see anyway as it'll have it's legs crossed or be in some random, awkward position. Plus I keep telling myself that they do sometimes get it wrong! So on balance I think I'd much rather just find out for definite at the end...
  • Oh and also, if I am as far along as I think I am then I worked out that our 20 weeks scan will be in the run up to Christmas. Part of me was thinking about getting them to write it down then opening on Christmas day, lol...
  • Probably a bit early to be asking but has anyone had any thoughts if they are finding out the sex or keeping it as a surprise? xx

This is something we can't agree on. I like the idea of it being a surprise but DH would like to know the gender so things can be bought in correct colours, names chosen etc. At this point ideally I'd personally like a surprise but I also know that I am impatient and by the time the 20 week mark comes I can imagine this changing :rotfl:
  • I don't want to find out the sex! Although there isn't a lot of choice clothes-wise etc for those that don't find out, but I am determined to stick with my original decision ;)

Well 12 weeks tomorrow and scan on Thursday - wish I was more exited :( Just feeling a tad anxious!

Strange isn't it, how this should be a joyous and exciting time and yet most of us are feeling worried, nervous and anxious :o

I really want to find out the sex, as if it's a boy it'll take us months to find a name! We've talked in the past about girls names a lot but have yet to agree on a boys one! x

I love that idea!! I'll be 19 weeks come Christmas so just short of the mark to be able to do this :(

Thanks Birdie :D, keeping it to myself atm. It's super early days but I am just hoping! I'm not letting myself think about anything until after 12 weeks just in case. Roll on December!

Sorry to hear about your OH Dad, Chelseablue :(. I like the envelope idea a lot too.

    I like the envelope idea

We could give it to OH's Dad first, that'd be nice that he's the first person to know

    Then we look after :rotfl:

Just had a bit of a tumble in the kitchen. More of a slide really. Accidentally stepped on/through the bin lid and slid halfway across the kitchen floor. Nearly did a split and ended up hurting my ankle. I wasn't even worried about hurting myself, but my first thought was that I was going to fall and that I might lose the baby if I did. I'm still shaking really badly, but DH has done his best to calm me down. He's also forbidden me to do any work in the evening when I'm tired.

All in all, I'm a bit bruised, but ok. Just really shaken.
