I thought I was doing pretty well because I haven't had any random bouts of crying yet. That is until now. My cousin posted a photo of the sky above my dad's grave yesterday, and I just saw it on FB and now I'm crying! :(

  • Good morning ladies,

    Hope everyone is feeling well!

All is same old same old here. Still always very hungry, still getting tired and finding that (sorry if its TMI) that I am passing a lot more wind:eek:! Poor hubby.

I am now getting serious itchy fingers to start researching places to get second hand baby stuff but for some reason I daren't. Normally (pre-pregnancy) I wasn't a superstitious person but roll on 10 weeks of pregnancy and I totally am. Won't tell anyone about it, won't buy anything or even research...just incase it turns into a jinx!!! Even typing it here I feel a little crazy but I actually can't help it lol. Driving hubby a little bit crazy :rotfl:

MrsTM - How frustrating to be allergic to something like immunisations! When I went to my booking in appointment the midwife offered me the flu jab and whooping cough. With them discussing it at the booking in appointments it will give you plenty of time for research and to ask them any questions and discuss all worries.
  • aww thanks everyone. Still got a bit of stuff there this morning, only when I wipe rather than in my knicks. I've worked out that I'd roughly be due AF around now so I'm telling myself it's just a bit of breakthrough bleeding and I'm not overly concerned. It's not really huge amounts so I don't think it warrants trying to get bumped up the scan list really. If my scan wasn't in a few days then I might ring but I don't think it's worth it. Friday is more convenient for me anyway as I don't work Fridays, lol! I just want to know that all is ok in there but I can hold out a couple more days ;)

Hope everyone else is having a good Tuesday. I actually got a half decent night's sleep for a change last night (have been waking lots in the night recently and unable to get back to sleep for hours!) so am feeling human again. I have to say, I'm not looking forward to those first weeks/months of sleep deprivation, especially as I've a two year old to look after as well this time around!
  • Having a bit of a miserable day today. Poor Hubby has been getting the brunt of it.

After the Dr called yesterday he made me an appointment to see him at the end of the day to reassure me. Tested my urine and no infections, felt my stomach and all seems ok and said aslong as the cramps aren't accompanied by any blood then things should be ok. He gave me some sachets for the constipation, though don't think I will manage to really take them, had one last night and it seems to of kick started the nausea!

Really wondering how woman manage to maintain a normal life and be pregnant lol! With a mix of cramping, constipation, nausea and tiredness I just don't want to do anything! My life and work must go on I guess and it is all for a good cause!

Have my booking appointment next week so hoping they can shed some light on how far gone I am or maybe book an early scan if I am still experiencing the cramps!

Just delurking from the Big thread to say hooray for Lara! :j So pleased to see you back here, have a little tear in my eye! :D

Mrs TM, don't get your heart set on a homebirth just yet, you'll have to discuss it with your midwife (possibly a consultant?) as they like ladies with a high BMI to give birth in hospital due to the risk of added complications. It's not impossible, but you may find some resistance and I'd personally rather be in the safest place where the professionals are if there was even a hint of needing extra help. You'll also have to have the GTT just so you're prepared for that. :) Can't help with the vaccinations but make sure you research all of your choices fully as you obviously don't want to do anything that could be detrimental for your baby. :)
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

yeay MrsHappy - congrats on your scan.

sunshine81 - we have had a private reassurance scan, and told parents and siblings after that. I'd also told 2 of my best friends, but we are not telling anyone else now until after our 12 week scan.

phoenix7 - glad bleeding has decreased and you are feeling a bit better. good luck for Friday.

chelseablue - we actually discussed it this weekend and have decided we are not going to find out and have a surprise for the first one. what about you?

afm, had a call from the Drs yesterday asking me to book in for flu jab, so will definitely be doing that, although am a total wuss with injections and usually faint straight after!

having a bit of a worrying day today as 2 acquaintances have let me know they have recently had miscarriages (10 weeks and 12 weeks). is it ridiculous that I am desperate to feel fatter???!? No signs of a bump at all yet, when is it normal to start to show? I'm a size 12-14 so there's a little extra fat for baby to get through....

OH wants to find out. His Dad has terminal cancer so he wants to find out so we can tell his Dad but not tell anyone else

He wants his Dad to know incase anything happens to him, so he wont go to his grave without knowing

Sorry that all sounds very morbid!

Sorry to hear about OH's dad, that's very sad. I do know someone who was actually in a very similar position with their grandma. They had the sonographer write down the sex of the baby on a piece of paper and put it in an envelope. They gave the envelope to their grandma so she knew but no-one else did, which I thought was a really sweet gesture.

I have not even thought about finding out about the sex or any further than the initial twelve weeks. I want to think about those things but I will be waiting until I know I have reached the milestone of that time. After that I will think about it I am sure.

I like the putting the sex in an envelope idea. :) xx
