I'll definitely be having the flu jab too. I work with really poorly children who pick up everything, so if they get flu I could get it too and I'm definitely not risking that.0

Friday can't come quick enough! I've been having some brown spotting, with the (sorry, TMI alert) sort of mucusy, stringy clotty stuff you get at the end if your period. I'm really hoping its nothing, but am just sitting it out until Friday...
(((((Hugs, Phoenix))))) Give the midwife a ring if you're worried or the GP. How are you feeling? Hope you're doing okay xx:A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0 -
Firsttimer14, I've had bleeding too, if its a small amount and you don't have cramps I wouldn't worry, but if it gets heavy, you're in pain or it's really red, go speak to someone. I spoke to Doctor who wasn't concerned, Fertility specialist who wasn't concerned, sonographer who couldn't see any areas of bleeding and obstretrician who wasn't concerned.
I had second scan today, now at 2cm and heartbeat still going strong, so feeling more confident and can actually say out loud 'I'm having a baby!'
8+1 :-)0 -
I think the flu vaccine uses a dead virus anyway mrs tm if you were at all worried about that.0

Busy busy round here!! Been at uni all afternoon, just sat down!
Becsxxx - am planning on telling mine and OH's parents later in the week, it will also be their first grandchild on both sides. I'm a bit worried that I'll tell them then something will go wrong... have you limited it to certain people until your scan? I'm thinking of just telling our parents and siblings for now but can't decide.
Moonbabe58 we can be in the TMI club together :rotfl: constipation is an annoyance for me at the best of times, but now I'm pregnant I really need help for it! Been buying loads of veg and apricot juice!
Firsttimer14 I agree with others, am sure it happens quite often in pregnancy but certainly worth getting checked x
samtoby - ooh I'm excited at you having a bump! I can't wait to start showing, although if I breathe out the fat looks like a pregnancy anyway ha
Lara44 I've found a heat pack thing (you know that you put in the microsave) really helps with sore boobs. Well done on submitting a thesis draft, that sounds like a lot of work!
Phoenix7 thinking of you and crossing everything that it's all fine on Friday x
Fireyfirenze I've been waking at 5-5:30 too, how very strange! Wonder why? I wouldn't worry about not decorating if you've been out all day, I feel shattered just doing the dishes sometimes! Just noticed you're not far from me too
Mrs_T_M your posts are ace, you seem so organised! I had McDonalds on the way to uni, how healthy(!) smoothies sound like a good idea. There's no room for a freezer in this little house but am hoping to move in the new year.
mrshappy sooo pleased your scan went well! I can't wait for that moment!! Hoping you go to bed having sweet dreams tonight
vseviour glad your scan went well! I really wish I could have one now just to shut myself up worrying for 5 minutes! But 6+1 is a bit early I think!
I didn't know about the whole vaccine thing, except flu (I knew that was recommended in pregnancy as I was offered it at work (NHS) but they told me to get it from my doctor). I think I'll take whatever is recommended as long as the nurse is prepared to pick me up off the floor! I had to sit by someone while they had a canula put in on Friday, as they attempted to put it in for a third time I had to leave the room to avoid fainting!

So maybe going to bed at half 8 last night wasn't such a good idea-I've been up since 5!
I have my flu jab tomorrow, been getting it for years as I'm frontline NHS staff.
We saw a fab image on the screen last night, but didn't manage to get such a good one to take home-hope the link works.0 -
Phoenix7 - why don't you contact your MW? Mine told me , any bleeding to give her a call - but that could be because of my history. Perhaps you could get an earlier scan than Friday (though I suppose it is only 3 days
) Anyway - hope you are not worrying yourself too much x
Chelsea Blue - I had little symptoms with my previous 2 pregnancies. I think I am only aware of them this time because Im looking for them! (Though cant really miss the night time visits to the loo!!)
SamToby - all fine here, just wishing away time to my scan. Though wishing it wasn't 31st Oct now....as I will have to take my children out trick or treating whatever the outcome...they are getting excited already!
Mrs Happy! Can see your baby! - Ill def be getting the flu and whopping cough jabs. I hate being ill! x0 -
Look at all you lot up late last night lol :rotfl:
Pheonix7 hope all is ok this morning
mrshappy - lovely picture, can see the yolk sac really well!
Mrs_T_M - Maybe see if you find out if you can get tested to see what you are allergic too.
My friend is 30 weeks and on anti-depressants - she has seen a Consultant just to see how she is getting on and to look at her medication. She said she is having some more monitoring. I was asked at my booking in history of mental health and depression - my Dad had a serious mental illness but I have always known that was the case and avoided alcohol in excess and never taken drugs (this is how my Dads started.)
My Mum said I couldn't have the whooping cough vaccine as my Dad had history of fits but I will find out if I can have it now.
Flu jab - definatly.

I'll ask again, but the GP said that the NHS only tests external environmental allergens, such as pollens and cat and dog dander. I definitely cannot afford a private allergy test!0
