Sorry for the late reply Ladies!!
The scan went fine but Bob was lying in an awkward position and would not move so the Nuchal couldn't be done. I will have to have blood tests at 16 weeks which I assume will look for something that might suggest Downs?
I was dated as 12+4 so moved up a few days
I will be moving on up to the next thread and I hope to see you all there when the time is right!!
Take care and be sticky xxxWhether you think you can or you can’t, you’re probably right ~ Henry Ford0 -
Congratulations Icey77 on a good scan. Hopefully will see you in a few weeks on the next thread xx0

Been AWOL as have had a massively busy few days, but have been reading along, just not posting.
Had my booking in appointment with the MW last Thursday. She was very calm and no-nonsense. Telling her about my irrational worries was a real help and I generally felt like it's more "real" now a healthcare professional has been me!!!! Haven't got my scan date yet, but hopefully that will come through soon.
Was at a wedding on Friday - had a fab time, but completely exhausted for the rest of the weekend and am meant to be packing (we're moving in 3 weeks!). DH is a saint, looking after me and putting up with my moans!
Sophiasmum - I'm the same as you with the plain food at the moment - particularly crisps and potatoes!
Good luck today Elsie37
Congrats Mrs TM! So pleased to see you on here! Welcome and congrats also to hwoolgar and anyone else I've missed.
Chelseablue - my MW apps sound exactly the same, don't see her again until 16 weeks unless there's a problem. What hospital did you decide on? I went for QMC in the end solely because of where we live.
Vickyvics - hope your MW app goes well. My MW was very calm and reassuring generally so I felt much happier afterwards. Yes it is me who is having an early scan at Baby Bond at Castle Marina. It's on Thursday when I'm a day before 9 weeks. Will let you know how it goes.
samtoby - are you feeling any better?
I just went for my local one0 -
Hi all congrats Mrs T I don't know you but it sounds like you've been trying for ages so I'm really happy for you!
I have my appointment with the sonographer tomorrow, really nervous and still unsure of what they will actually do, we still haven't worked out how far gone I am though when I went to the doctor last week due to my extreme morning sickness I said I thought I could be anywhere from 4-12 weeks and he took one look at me and went 'you're way more than 4 weeks' so I am a bit worried now that I could be more like 8 or 9!
I assume they will do a scan tomorrow to be able to tell how far along I am? It's just so annoying that I hadn't had a proper period after I came off my medical injections or I would have a better clue. And I am panicking about tomorrowmy boyfriend has been texting me ALL day saying how excited he is but I just feel sick with worry. Please tell me it's not going to be like this for the whole 9 months? I feel like I am going out of my mind already!!
Congrats to other newbies like me who have joined and hope you are all well. I only threw up once today...massive improvement on last week when I couldn't even get to the end of a sentence without wretching!!Our first baby due 25th May 2014 :T

I've spent practically the whole day slobbing on the sofa feeling sick and headachey, not helping that my five year old is incapable of sitting still or being quiet lol! Still dont have a date for my scan, despite visting the gp on 27.09.13 where he dictated a letter referring me for a scan there and then! Got a cold call from someone claiming to be my midwife a few days later, who cant offer me an appt until 29.10.13 and when I said I needed an evening or a weekend appt she offered me 3pm on a weekday! Facepalm!
Struggling to find a private midwife still, is anyone else going private?
Hi,
I think private midwives have been 'outlawed', as the goverment and insurance ccompanies have made them uninsurable. Our private mw has gone back to the NHS.

How is everyone today?
Fine here except I'm tired and have had a handful of nauseous moments, mostly while I was out and could smell fresh bread baking. I normally love the smell of fresh bread!
Our fridge is clicking every 3-5 minutes and it's beginning to drive me up the wall. I've no clue why it's doing it, nor how to stop it! Oh well. The good news for me today is that I was able to purchase quite a few cross stitching patterns at our local CATS charity shop. Bought some to actually complete, but most for just the cloth and threads.
I hope that everyone is having a great day!0 -
Sorry I haven't posted properly until now but it has been my first day back at work. All went well but I am so flipping tired and still feeling so sick. I have had some lovely gagging sessions!
marywooyeah- I understand you have a busy schedule but could you not arrange your appointments in lunch breaks or take holiday/ time you can pay back? I don't think there are any private midwives I am sure you have to see a NHS one. I know scans are optional but I am sure if you don't see a Midwife the Dr you see has a duty to say they know you are pregnant but you have not been to a Midwife. I wouldn't wish this on anyone but some pregnancies do not take the easiest route and some people end up seeing Midwives a lot more than normal. I love my job and all that I do, even though it is super stressful - but I WILL take time off when ever the baby means I need to. Despite coming back to over 200 e-mails and feeling like a rabbit caught in the headlights!! I hope you find a solution.
Mrs_T_M - I can't stand the smell of all my favourite things. I have a serious sweet tooth but that is all gone. I do like all things savoury now! Did you ask about the pram? Will you be cross stitching things for the baby? I have some lovely bits for babies in rooms and even cross stitched rattles!
mysecretalias- I would think if you have an appointment with the sonographer that you will get scanned either internal (inside your woo) or externally. They will be able to date you from the size of the bean and also the date of the sac. It is always I believe, finalised with a date at 12 weeks. So if you are 8 weeks at your scan don't be surprised if it moves on a few days at your 12 week scan. Don't panic - the scanning procedure is ok, even if internally. I wish you luck
chelseablue- I do hope all is going well and you have no more bleeding. See your baby fund is coming on well!
Vickyvics - How are you getting on - 9+ now!
Icey77 - Glad all went well! Happy graduation!
becsxxx - Have you had the sickness or has it subsided? Glad your Midwife appointment went well.
Sophiasmum- Not that long until your scan is there!! Wish mine was as early as yours. I have to wait a whole weekend more.
My partner is cooking sausage and mash tonight so I am going to look around the forums lol. Very productive!

Just lurking from the other thread - if you got your 3+ on the clear blue, a couple of weeks back, that means 5 weeks at least so you must be at least 7 now. But that's good cos you'll see more on the scan!0 -
