  • I have my first midwife appointment next Thursday before my scan. Not sure how many weeks I'll be...somewhere between 8-11 possibly, but it'll be 6 weeks after I saw my doctor so I suppose that's about right.

I've told my three best friends. One was pregnant (had her baby Sunday), she was the first I told. And my other two friends, one of them is a doctor so I figured I could only ask her so many questions about my pregnant 'friend' before she guessed! We haven't actually told either sets of parents yet, waiting for the first scan before we do as I hated the thought of them being so excited and then having to give bad news...

I think a couple of people at work may have guessed. Will probably tell my boss after my 12 weeks scan. I think he'll be a bit shocked!

I kept my last quiet apart from my partner and my best friend. I am glad I did as I didn't have to go back and tell people the bad news. But in the same way I could have done with the support so wish I had told a couple more family members. I think its a personal thing whether you tell and who you tell. My Mum who lives in an annex on the side of our house didn't know until my 12 week scan day but she knows this time. I am going to need her.

I had my last midwife appointment at 10+ weeks and I reckon it will be funny when I rock back up in a few weeks time - she will be like ohhhh:eek: :rotfl:

My son has his swimming lesson tonight so going to do my weekly swim. It relaxes me and I feel really tense about the whole situation which I need to stop - can not be good for baby.

    Hi everyone,

Room for one for a re visit?!

I was on the thread up until 30/07/2013 the day of my 12 week scan and my baby had died at 9+3/5. It was a missed miscarriage and I had an operation at the beginning of August, didn't even have a cycle and I don't even remember doing the deed much and I have had a BFP.

Called the Dr. I am 4-5 weeks by what the Clearblue tester says as it says 2-3 weeks since conception so I have booked an appointment for the 23rd of September with the Dr's and I will go from there, I will need a dating scan and based on what has just happened I do very much hope it is soon after the 23rd so I have the scan so I know all is ok.

I really am just going to take each day as it comes.......each day will be a milestone.

    :)

OMG I am sooo happy for you!!! That has truely made my day :T

I've been keeping an eye on the other thread hoping for good news x

Well scan went brilliantly! Bean was doing lots of wriggling about, upside down at first!!

Sonographer was lovely, the nuchal measurement was 1.5, so good. Just awaiting the bloods now!

Must wave good bye for now and see you all on the next thread soon!!

Glad you're back so fast Sam.

I've spent most of the day vomiting.

Just working up the strength to wash my hair and get my pjs on. Hopefully tomorrow ill feel a bit better.

Vicky that's normal. All the midwife does is ask a ton of questions anyway!

    Yay Sjlou! Xx

  • I'm so excited to find this thread! I'm 8 weeks 3 days pregnant with my 2nd child, had my first little boy when I was 18, in a terrible relationship ended up going back to my mums when 6 months preg and being a single mum. Then met my gorgeous other half a year and a half ago, he loves my little boy like his own and we'd been trying for about a year so gloriously happy!! Oh my little boy is now 4 :) x
