  • Morning all,

Congratulations Claire, that is a lovely scan picture. I cant wait to have one.

Told hubby last night and showed him the test. Although he was a little shocked (not helped by me pouncing on him with the test as he walking through the door...I was nervous) he was also thrilled. Kept rubbing my tummy all evening :p.

Dead on 8am this morning I was booking an appointment at the doctor and was in a 8.40!!! I have now had it confirmed that I am pregnant and my first midwife appointment is booked. I can't believe it. Doctor says I am about 5 weeks pregnant .

I'm quickly becoming a test addict. I cant seem to get enough of watching those two little pink lines appear on the test :rotfl:.

Lushlifesaver - what app do you use to track the baby? Would love to know what it looks like and the size etc.

Now I'm off to walk the dog and then try and get some work done without being tempted to google random pregnancy information :A. Could be tricky as I work from home but we shall see.

    Happy Thursday everyone xxx
  • Vicky I use 'I'm Expecting' from the Android store, it's a free app and whilst it's American it is really helpful. It tells you a little about what's happening to your body and then stuff about baby each week - what size it is compared to pieces of fruit/veg and shows little 3D scan images of the growth :)
It's by a company called MedHelp or something like that and it lets you track your symptoms (in a list and against a calendar), your weight, your appointments and your doctor's info etc :)

To say I'm tired as soon as I arrived at work I was in an incredibly happy mood, singing away and springing about - might have finally got my work related drive/mojo back! yay :)

    Morning all!

Working from home today as we have the nuchal scan this afternoon.
Fingers crossed we get a bit more movement and therefore a more accurate measurement.

12+1 according to last measurement (more likely 12+5...)

OH is pottering around the house doing jobs, has already made me a lovely breakfast while I get some work done.

    feels like winter here!! brrrrr

    thats quick work vicky!
You'd never be able to get an appointment that quick at our surgery!

lush I feel like I'm getting some energy back now that the sickness is fading away. OH keeps asking when will I start with the nesting?!

ooh meant to say, if you're looking for cheap maternity wear I've heard primark are now doing maternity jeans. Not got any myself yet, but someone at work got some.

Huge congrats to the new thread residents :)

I remember being a test addict too first time around, this time I did a couple and that was it, now I keep forgetting I'm pregnant and have my DH reminding me not to eat that or do this etc meh!! ;)

I am very tired though, far more so than the first time. This time I do have an 18 month old running about. DH actually slipped and told me he thinks he has it easier by going to work. Finally he gives me some credit for being a SAHM!!

I'm waiting for the the letter giving me a date for the 12 week scan, I'm hoping it will happen just in time to spend the weekend with the in-laws so we can tell them in person. We can then tell my mum and grandma when we get back otherwise they'll have their noses out out of joint :(

Anyway, hope you are all feeling ok (or as ok as you can get!)

Hahah, bf is far worse than me for nesting! So far we've blitzed any extra 'stuff' started emptying the spare room to become the nursery, redecorated the kitchen and now he's done the hall! He's mad for it all, he can't wait to buy the furniture and decorate the room just how we want etc.

I think by the time I'm 25 weeks-ish I'll be the worse of the pair of us and will stock piling anything and everything :rotfl:

    Hi everyone,

Room for one for a re visit?!

I was on the thread up until 30/07/2013 the day of my 12 week scan and my baby had died at 9+3/5. It was a missed miscarriage and I had an operation at the beginning of August, didn't even have a cycle and I don't even remember doing the deed much and I have had a BFP.

Called the Dr. I am 4-5 weeks by what the Clearblue tester says as it says 2-3 weeks since conception so I have booked an appointment for the 23rd of September with the Dr's and I will go from there, I will need a dating scan and based on what has just happened I do very much hope it is soon after the 23rd so I have the scan so I know all is ok.

I really am just going to take each day as it comes.......each day will be a milestone.

    :)

  • Welcome back Samtoby! That's great news. Fingers crossed for a happy and healthy 8months.
  • Congratulations Samtoby, that is fantastic news xx

Sjlou - The doctors I had before we moved house took forever to get appointments at. I once had completely lost my voice but was told only a phone appointment was available...grrrr! Thankfully these ones are much better.

I don't have my first midwife appointment until I'm nearly 10 weeks. Is this normal? The wait is going to kill me.

I think I keep wanting to retest as a reassurance that it is actually happening.I don't have my first midwife appointment until I'm nearly 10 weeks. Is this normal? The wait is going to kill me. I need the scan as evidence.

Also when are you/did you tell people you were pregnant? The sensible adult part of me wants to keep it quiet and then the excited impatient part of me that cant keep a secret wants to tell everyone immediately. Definite angel and devil syndrome x
