Ladies can you give me some advice... My scan is on next week, I have booked the morning off work but not the afternoon. If all good was planning on telling my boss later that day, if bad news I thought I'd probably manage a quiet afternoon in work before letting it all out in the evening.
Now a meeting has been booked in for the afternoon which I HAVE to attend (it's a work update in light if the recent redundancy scares so do not want to miss it), however if anything were to have gone wrong that morning, I don't think I could face sitting round that boardroom table trying to keep it together.
Should I tell my boss beforehand so she's pre-warned? (It's difficult as she's pregnant too!)0 -

Would there be a possibility of phoning in sick if anything were to happen?
How do you feel about telling your boss?
I'm sure that you'll be very excited, too much to concentrate!!First baby due 3/3/14 - Team Yellow! Our little girl born 25/2/140 -
No don't really want to call in sick, unless I'd told my boss the situation first. But I didn't really want to tell her until after the scan. Just bad timing I guess. Might have to bite the bullet and tell her on Monday :-(0

There is no way I could have gone Into work when I had bad news squirrel. I'd taken the whole day off and I just sent my boss a text saying it was bad news I had to have an operation and had no idea when I'd be back at work. To be honest work was the last thing on my mind.
I don't want anything bad to happen to you & I'm sure it won't but maybe tell her On Monday if you wouldn't be keen on not coming back that afternoon and having to explain you we're pregnant all at the same time. My boss knew I was pregnant.0 -
Just popping on to say I'm moving over to the 12+ board as we had a good scan today
So relieved and everything looked okCurrently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

Cpoir - yep first for us. I'll be turning 30 later this year, so no spring chicken! But feeling a bit panicy, ill be responsible for an actual baby! Eeek! Hardly feel an "adult" myself!
Will it be your first?
I'm also 30 later this year but already have a 2yo
Smlsave - congrats on your scan. Will hopefully join you on the next boards over the coming months x
Squ1rrel - at least if your boss is pregnant too she should be really happy for your news.Addicted to MSE0 -

Excellent news!
I was wide awake from 3.30am to around 5 being sick.
I'm also too hot or too cold so I ended up last night with fans blasting and sleeping under a beach towel.0 -

I know exactly how you feel squ1rrel5, because of my past medical history The doc has signed me off work so I'm stress free at the moment, however I've had to let work know that I'm pregnant again because we don't know when I'll be back as yet. It's horrible, I hate the thought of people knowing my private info and if it goes wrong I'm going to feel like a failure again :-(
But to be fair, if its not great news you're not going to be in the right frame of mind to sit through the meeting. As hard as it is I'd tell your boss before hand so you have the option to bail if necessary.
Well 7 weeks tomorrow and first scan on Monday, I am getting very scared now.
Congrats to SmlSave btw :T:T:T0 -

Still getting the odd nauseous moment since returning from Belgium - nothing unbearable just slightly disconcerting as I hate feeling sick even if it is just that feeling of a lump in my throat so sometimes I just feel quite anxious about maybe throwing up!
I am finding I'm hungry regularly, at least every two hours so I'm having to. Keep fruit and a biscuit on hand at work so the sick feeling doesn't surface too quickly. I'm finding the flavoured, carbonated waters that you get (3 for £1) help too as it's hard to stomach plain water.
Getting very excited for my scan now - two weeks today!! Just hoping that everything is OK and they find baby easily. No one in my family has had 'hard' pregnancies so I should follow suit but I am a born worrier! Can't wait to have a picture to show everyone :-)
Going to work out how to tell my boss this week too, although don't think I will tell him until after my scan - when do most people plan on telling work formally?
I have pretty much the same symptoms as you especially the hunger, I haven't been sick at all but I do feel sick if I am hungry. How far along are you ??
I told my line manager at work and my two close friends, will tell the rest of the team when I have had my scan. Told line manager as I work in a very busy office and do a lot of work on the phones, we're really only supposed to take breaks ( ie to eat) at the designated times but I am having to eat when my tummy tells me ( which is often!) so sometimes I am due to be on the phones at these times... telling her made it a lot easier and saves me getting any hassle for not sticking to my daily schedule
You mention pain when sneezing, before I knew I was pregnant, I had missed period but they weren't THAT regular so was unsure and hadn't done test, I sneezed and got a pain, googled it and all the answers were saying PREGNANT ...0 -
I have my booking appointment on Wednesday. NOT looking forwards to getting my blood taken as I do not like needles much although I am starting to get over it a bit ( for the last 2 years I've been like a pin cushion as have low levels of folate and b12
