I was betting period cramp type pains in the early weeks too, some quite strong, now it's more like twinges and some pains in the tops of my legs which I'm told is the muscles preparing :S I also get a little pain when sneezing

Still getting the odd nauseous moment since returning from Belgium - nothing unbearable just slightly disconcerting as I hate feeling sick even if it is just that feeling of a lump in my throat so sometimes I just feel quite anxious about maybe throwing up!

I am finding I'm hungry regularly, at least every two hours so I'm having to. Keep fruit and a biscuit on hand at work so the sick feeling doesn't surface too quickly. I'm finding the flavoured, carbonated waters that you get (3 for £1) help too as it's hard to stomach plain water.

Getting very excited for my scan now - two weeks today!! Just hoping that everything is OK and they find baby easily. No one in my family has had 'hard' pregnancies so I should follow suit but I am a born worrier! Can't wait to have a picture to show everyone :-)

Going to work out how to tell my boss this week too, although don't think I will tell him until after my scan - when do most people plan on telling work formally?

Just had my booking in appt, really nice midwife.

Normally I am very easy to get blood from but today she could only get o e vial after trying both arms so now I've got to go back tomorrow! Wasn't expecting that.

She said if I wanted she'd try to find the heart beat on the Doppler as Im slim she said there's a chance shed be able to find it, but if she couldn't then I shouldn't worry, so I declined as I knew if that were to happen it would send me into a panic! And she agreed if I'm a worrier prob best not to. Would have been great to hear it but I was just too scared.

Came back home & promptly puked :)

Lush life saver my boss knows as I've been off sick.

I'd probably wait til the scan although to be honest if you want to tell them now you could as you'd need time off god forbid anything bad happened so its really just a personal choice x

    Afternoon everyone,

Congrats to the new residents :) always lovely news to see!
    Also, a beautiful photo MV!!! She's a stunner :)

I'm having a bad few days, Frog spent all night on Monday being sick so I was up with her all night. DH was at work until 5am on Tuesday so couldn't help me and he needed sleep too.

She kept some stuff down yesterday but then DH gave her a bottle of milk at bedtime which she promptly threw up again half an hour later :( but she did sleep last night which was a relief!

I've tweaked my back with all the lifting and cuddling and now I'm hobbling around and I feel really tired and sick.

Off to the Drs today for the appointment to be referred to the MWs, still can't get over having to see the GP though :rotfl:

Hope you are all feeling ok and beans are being sticky!! xx

  • Hi All,

After a bit of radio silence - been on holiday - just want to pop on and say Hi to everyone, including all the newcomers and also Bye! I had my 12 week scan today and all's looking well. Dated as 13+1 so sticking with my original DD of 4th March 2014.

Baby looks well and was a little disgruntled with all the prodding around and being disturbed from its sleep. Must take after its father! haha

So, good luck to you all and look forward to seeing you on the next thread.

sexkitten - step away from the tests! :rotfl: Maybe just use what you have left, but don't buy any more, lol ;)

MV - She's absolutely gorgeous! Huge congratulations. x

claire16c - I've been getting stabby twinge-y pains here and there. Coughing and sneezing especially if lying down is no good, or if I move around too quickly and I'm only 6.5 weeks. I remember having some of this last time around too, although may be a wee bit later than this time.

icey - if you were here last time, we probably spent some time on the big pregnancy thread together (I had a bit of a kfc addiction, lol). Hope you're LO is feeling a bit better now.

Nothing much to report here. Starting to feel a little nausea first thing in the morning, but that settles after I eat something. Have my booking in/1st mw appt on Monday. Pretty sure we'll try for a private scan for the week after, whilst we wait on the 12 week one dropping in. This first 8 weeks always drags in whilst you're waiting to tell people.. we're not planning on telling anyone until after the official scan..... :)

Hope everyone is having a good day. I may have treated myself to a raspberry coconut ice donut today with lunch, nom nom nom. :j

Hi ladies hope youre all well...

I have been feeling poorly the last couple of days.
The usual nausea, plus sore throat, blocked nose, headaches.... means no sleep! But work is sooo busy, and I managed a good 6 hours sleep last night, so went into work today, only for my boss to send me home because "you look ill"! Thanks! I obv didn't do a good job with the make up this morning!

Really cant wait for scan next week now. Saw lots of my friends over the weekend and just wanted to tell them, but I've promised oh i wont before the scan.

lush I told my boss early on, its made it easier with my sickness and time off for appointments. I've not got to fill in the HR forms until i get my edd from the dating scan.

Kynthia lovely pic! :) Glad it all went well.

    sexki11en welcome! :hello:

claire16c I've had a lot of stretchy twingy feelings. like twinpig I get a twinge if I sneeze/cough/blow my nose!

twinpig I find that if I go hungry then I am more nauseous. So try to nibble on something dry/bland! We've joked that I'm on a beige diet at the moment!

Anyone else found they've lost weight? I'm over half a stone lighter than when I had my initial doctors appointment.

Icey My drs appointment was pointless! She filled in a form (that I could have done myself) which I had to hand into the receptionist to forward to the midwife and she weighed me. I waw very disappointed!!
 Mini me due March 2014

We don't have a HR person/department - silly as I work for a Chamber of Commerce! So I was thinking of waiting until after the scan and then formally informing him/the company by letter. One of the ladies who was already on mat leave when I started is due back from September so I might ask her how she told him!

Our Chief Exec is a bit soft really so I'm sure it will be no trouble; I'm a hard worker and he likes telling everyone how much great work I've done since starting plus with my job it isn't too hardcore - just a nice mix of desk/office based and events - so I can keep working until closer to my due date ( I'm not good with time off as it is so will probably only look to start mat leave 2 weeks-ish before baby is due or immediately if they come early!)

Everyone keeps trying to tell us we're having twins as we have twins on both sides and they've now 'skipped' the generation which would make it our turn to have a set! Two would be nice but as it's our first one would be plenty :rotfl:
Twins would make it almost impossible for me to return to work fulltime afterwards so I'd have to look at going p/t as bf will manage of with one but he can't push his wheelchair and wear two babies/baby carriers!

The midwife is sending my notes to the hospital today so she said give them a call on tues to arrange the scan as it should have all been received by then. So I will call then and see what spaces they have!
