Less than 12 weeks pregnant club! Part 3

Well the drs appointment was a waste of time! As I mentioned before, I don't have a last period to go from as I've not had one since coming off my pill at the end of April. Did a clear blue first thing which said 3+ so was thinking he'd put me down as at least 5 weeks, maybe 6 if I was lucky. He's put 3 weeks on my notes which I'm a bit gutted about really as it feels like I'll be having to wait for so long.
Also I have to wait and see if I am 'accepted' by my chosen hospital as they only take a certain number of people from my area.
So lots of waiting then. In my head I was thinking my scan would be the last week of September but I think it'll be mid-October now which just seems so far off (rationally I know it's only two weeks but still!). On top of it all I just feel really emotional and want to cry...think it'll be a long day!0 -
All went well with the scan!! I'm only 11 weeks so need to go back again next week as too early to do measurements. Have a photo but not sure how to attach to this. Was so lovely. There's a heartbeat & saw the bambino moving around.
To all those who have no pregnancy symptoms. I had NO symptoms other than tiredness and everything was fine yesterday at the scan so hope this reassures you. Over the moon!! :T0 -
msmoneypennyplease glad to hear everything went well with your scan - very reassuring that you've had no symptoms but a lovely scan experience!
Can't wait until it's my turn! MW apt n 2 days and then I'm guessing my scan should be around the 14th September as that's when I will be 12weeks but we'll have to wait and see what appointment I get sent out
Feeling very happy today, partly because bf thinks my bbs have grown exponentially and that I'm already starting to 'look' pregnant - which I am taking as a compliment all the way haha. Of course it is also probably because it's my last day at work today for almost two weeks and our mw apt is this week. Probably a big mix of everything!
Today I am freezing and starving - an odd mix for me!************************************

Hi, Well I got my BFP today and went to book a doctors appointment but they can't see me for 2 weeks with my normal doctor. Do you think thats too long? x0

Hi everyone... I'd like to join your club please! I am 5 weeks tomorrow
Made my midwife appointment today which will be at 10 weeks.. feels like so long to wait!! I haven't really had any symptoms yet so it doesn't really feel 'real' yet.. We are over the moon.. but I'm also panicking slightly as I am the main earner & have no idea how we are going to manage financially... If anyone knows of any links to threads about this I would be very grateful. e.g. stay-at-home dad vs childcare etc... thanks!
and congratulations to everyone!

Goodluck with any scans today!
Has anyone else been suffering a sore back? Mine mostly aches a lot when I first wake up, like I have slept funny but calms down during the day. Not sure if its a pregnancy symptom or not as I'm only 5 + 1. Found out Google is definetely not my friend in the process though!
My back is killing me! Thought it was my pillow or sleeping position but it's not. Just been into work for an hour and its much much worse.
I've only noticed it in the past week though

Sorry your appointment didn't go as we'll as you would have liked Laura. Maybe as time goes on they will change your dates?
Fantastic news Msmoneypenny! How exciting and at least you get another look next week. Really pleased for you
Glad to hear your lpt turned into a bfp Katy! Welcome to the boardI had to push for a Drs appointment and even then don't have my first official one till next week (6 + 2) so sounds about right. It seems you wait for a bfp and them there's even more waiting when you do get it lol
Welcome Jenny, congrats on your pregnancy! 5 weeks seems a long time to wait but then all you here is how it all went so quick when people have their babies, can't winI have no advice about finances but I'm sure someone will be along soon with advice. I think the majority of people seem to say you just learn to manage/adapt but I know how scary it can all be

10+2
Thanks Becca. It's calmed down a lot now but I usually suffer from a bad back occasionally anyway so it could be a bit of both. How are you coping with work?0 -
Thanks Faith
I've calmed down a bit now I think. I was just upset this morning and he didn't even say anything about when to book in with a midwife or give me any info about pregnancy etc.
It's made me want to arrange an early scan even more now. I know that it's no guarantee things will be ok but I think I'll need a bit of reassurance that I'm not making it all up! If I book it for the week after I'm back from holiday I'll (all being well) be 8 weeks by his dates and 9/10 weeks by the clear blue dates (and, without being TMI my guess of when it happened!).
Does anyone have any recommendations for private scans in Essex? Do you know roughly how much I should be paying, there seems to be lots of variation!0 -
Laurabllue - you are at least five weeks so you don't want to be too late with a scan. Do you have any midwife details yet as you could maybe give them a call, they will be more knowledgeable and can change your scan date. A private scan isn't a bad idea in order to get a better idea of how far along you are. I used myultrababy who are £75 and have a centre in Brentwood. Be warned that you need a full bladder and they may do it internally anyway if you're very early. My sonographer was lovely, but I went to Docklands.
Congrats Katy. My GP's wouldn't see you until at least 6 weeks and they don't do anything so don't worry.
Faith - I get achy back often during the day and have done since about 5 weeks.
Jenny - congratulations. I earn more than my hubbie, but he still earns a decent amount so we've lots if decisions to make. He's really hoping that he can give up work and be a stay at home dad, but I think we'll need him to earn something. There's time to plan, take a look at your work's maternity package first.Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!0
