Decided to call in sick today... Vomiting has escalated in last hour and have been sick about 5 times. Hope this isn't going to have to result in an early announcement a la Kate Middleton!
Is it worth contacting your GP? XFirst baby due 3/3/14 - Team Yellow! Our little girl born 25/2/140 -
Board hopping...
squ1rrel5 - if you're being sick that often, please see your GP. I had HG all through my pregnancy and it's horrid but there are lots of different sickness medicines that can help. Meanwhile, nibble on ginger biscuits or drink ginger beer (non-alcoholic obviously!) and that should help with the feeling sick.0 -

You sound like me squirrel!
I was ill 3 or 4 times in the night & been sick twice again this morning just taken a tablet to see if it helps.
Only bad thing was when I took it i was trying not to gag and it took a while to swallow it & so the gross flavour of it rubbed off on the back of my throat. So had to get some coco pops & sip the chocolatey milk to try to cover it up!
I find that I only feel a bit better once I've thrown up. So I will lie there for ages in the night feeling awful but actually it's better to get up & puke then I can go back to sleep for a bit.0 -
I fear that this visit might be a bit of an anti climax. As a midwife I never confirmed a pregnancy as over-the-counter tests are so reliable. Also it is too early to hear a heartbeat. The booking in is mostly a clerical appointment - gaining info and giving info about local services and how appointments work. They book the scan for 12 weeks and talk about screening. Also bloods and a urine sample to test for a urine infection. I think you need to be prepared for this - they dont routinely scan any earlier unless there has been bleeding or pain and then that is done via the Early Pregnancy Unit x
I agree. To be honest you could be some kind of weirdo who lied about being pregnant and have a booking in appt as they don't check or confirm anything just take your word for it.0 -

I thought this might be the case! My doctor just said 'oh well the home tests are as reliable as any. Phone back through to reception and book an appointment to see the midwife.' and hung up on me!
I'm pretty sure I am pregnant, 4 home tests say sobut I just wondered what all the tests were for. I've never been one to 'go' much and now I have to give her a sample every time I see her apparently. Should be interesting! And bf hates needles so going to have to let him sit outside when she's taking bloods haha.
I'm just anxious as I feel like I'm getting hardly any symptoms when everyone else seems to be getting sickness etc. That said apparently my mum and grandmothers apparently never had any morning sickness and nor did bf's mum or grandmother - perhaps we are just two very lucky families as when I am sick I am horrendous and entirely useless!************************************

My mw wanted a sample but I couldn't pee on demand so I said I'd drop it in later which was fine. Think they just test for urine infections as that's what I had xFirst baby due 3/3/14 - Team Yellow! Our little girl born 25/2/140

booked our Scan for the 20th August now so cant wait to see the lickle baby....
cant wait for this morning sickness to go away as had to go hospital again last week for nearly a week, I was so dehydrated the doctor was shocked how I was still coping as I was starving all the time.
Feel a lot better now but still lethargic and sick a bit every now and thenBlessed on 18th February 2014 at 0814 with little Sarah xxx0 -
Hi girls,
Glad the scans went well!
Hope the sickness stays away squ1rrel and claire
I haven't had many symptoms either lushlifesaver. Just a little tired and very achy BBs yesterday, which are a little better today. It's really bad, but I really want to feel a few more so it seems real!!
AFM - I am 5 weeks today, but not much to report. I think I may have been really dehydrated yesterday as I had some pains/stitch in my side/kidney area. But after drinking loads of water felt much better. I don't drink or eat as much as I should do really, so have to work on that0
