HungryKitty hope you are Ok now. Biscuits sound yum! xx
Lannie hope you are also feeling better
Good news then Laura, you can still have a treat on holiday :rotfl:
Welcome Hannah x
10 weeks today, feels like such a milestone!First baby due 3/3/14 - Team Yellow! Our little girl born 25/2/140 -
HungryKitty I could do with a biscuit box like that! I've actually lot a couple of lbs so far - not sure how as I've had no real sickness (just a couple of slightly nauseous days) and been eating regularly; although I don't have much of an appetite at the minute I'm more eating because I know I need to
please-let-me-be-lucky I've been having quite a few cramps of an evening, I've always had extremely severe menstrual cramps (enough to make me throw up) so I can get through then with deep breathing and calming myself down but it still worries me that I am getting some this early on
I feel really lacking in pregnancy symptoms - other than feeling tired and a bit achey I feel pretty 'normal' we have our booking in appointment with the midwife this Friday so I'm just praying she confirms something is going on in there!
I'm a natural worrier but not really feeling like much is going on is making me a little worse.
I have to take a sample to my appointment on Friday - does anyone know if they can confirm there and then if you're pregnant? Really tempted to get another test and take it just before we go. I'm convinced it's all a dream and I will wake up realising I've wasted everybody's time************************************

:hello: Morning ladies!
Hope you're all feeling well. I've been constantly nauseous since mid last week!
On the plus side MW is coming for her home visit today, so I'm working from home and not having to hide my sickyness = bonus!). Hopefully she'll be able to book me in for my scan.
Started looking into hospitals/birthing units last night. As I've heard she might ask me where I want to go in my appointment today! How do you choose?? I like the idea of a MLU, so its less clinical, but I don't want to risk not having doctors on hand (or an epidural!) if I need them.
Think I've found an compromise though, there's a hospital that has a MLU unit with lovely private suites, all with birthing pools, and if I was to need medical intervention you only need to be transferred upstairs to the main maternity ward. Just not sure if this is an option open to me! The closest hospital to me, well, I've not heard many glowing reports! anyway....
Becca 10 weeks!!Each week seems to feel like a big achievement doesn't it!
moneypenny hope you had a lovely holiday. Good luck with your scan tomorrow.
kynthia hope your commute isnt too bad this week. You must be bursting to tell your folks!Mini me due March 2014

Thanks for all the support everyone. Cramps have gone and I've just got backache this morning which is more normal for me.
Hannah, you know your cycle better than anyone. Fingers crossed for your scan on 15th.
Good luck for your scan tomorrow msmoneypennyplease
lushlifesaver my midwife didn't test for pregnancy to my knowledge, (unless she did it in secret!), she just sent the specimen away to the lab. I'm sure she can test for you if you wish, though she will probably just be happy to go from your own test results. My surgery used to do little urine dip tests but I think they have moved on to home pregnancy type tests, regardless they can test there and then.Debts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

Sjlou I think within reason you can choose where you want to. I'm between 2 hospitals & have chosen the one furthest away as that's where we had our fertility treatment (although I'd love a home birth!)First baby due 3/3/14 - Team Yellow! Our little girl born 25/2/140

Glad I've had a look then before she comes today. Might do some more research..... You can never do too much research, can you!? My oh just rolls his eyes at me and my spreadsheets for everything!
please-let-me-be-lucky good to hear you're feeling better todayMini me due March 2014

Sjlou - with DD1, I went along to the GPs to tell them I was pregnant and got asked there and then which hospital I wanted to give birth in! I had no idea, so the GP let me go away and think about it... as long as I told them by the end of the week!
IMO (and obviously YMMV), a MLU within a hospital is optimal. My hospital has the MLU at the end of the corridor from the consultant-led team. Very reassuring
lushlifesaver - I'm pretty sure the urine samples we get asked to give at every appt are for checking for gestational diabetes. Don't think they ordinarily do a pregnancy test on them, and a urine dipstick test would be no more accurate than the home-kits anyway. But no harm in askingMortgage when started: £330,995

Lannie - so I'm right in thinking that they might ask early on!! That was very early though! How on earth are you supposed to know straight away!
At least now I know a little bit more I know what to ask the MW!
Any other things I should be asking her ladies? My mind seems to have gone blank!Mini me due March 2014

Mind you, I'm in London, so I think GPs round here like to get you registered with your chosen hospital pretty early on due to the high number of mums-to-be. Not sure if it's a bit more relaxed in other areas.Mortgage when started: £330,995

I'm in Newcastle and had the choice of 2 hospitals. I had to say straight away which one I wanted as my notes were then specific to the hospital I chose, and the hospital themselves sent my scan date by letter.Debts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j
