Having a bit of a tough time with hubby, he had a panic attack on Monday, got ambulance to a&e and is now on anti-depressants! He said it's not because of pregnancy but maybe he's feeling worried about the future, I don't know. He spoke to his mum today who lives in another country and she said she dreamed I was preg and had a girl and she asked him if I was preg and he told her yes but not to tell anyone yet! Blooming eck is there no chance of keeping this to ourselves for a while!

The midwife yesterday was saying how magical and lovely pregnancy is, she's being sarcastic right?!

Maybe when the initial "pukey and grouchy but can't tell anyone why" feeling is over then the magical phase starts.....? I can but live in hope.

I hope tomorrow is a better day for you Faerie

  • Oh Jox, sounds like a tough time.

Hopefully having his mum to talk to about it might help him address some of his fears- if that is what's playing so hard on his mind.

It's amazing how much you can wind yourself up.

I know its not the same level as Your OH But I really struggled when we first got our BFP. All I could think about was that it was too soon in our marriage and I hadn't planned it on our spreadsheet and our debt free journey won't have finished.
Then I read becca's journey to become pg and others on here and it put it into perspective.

Hopefully in time you're OH will start to get his head around this big life change. Great his drs are helping him

    Hugs x

  • You have my sympathies Jox. It's not quite the same but my DH had a motorbike accident 2 years ago resulting in a severe brain injury. He now suffers epilepsy seizure, memory problems and has massive mood swings including panic attacks. It's so hard when you want to be there for them and support them, but at the same time you want to protect yourself at such a precious time. I agree with MiB though, it may not be a bad thing that he has his Mum to talk to now.

    Take care you Xx

Squirrel I took a test before I went to my scan! It's taken ages to sink in (don't think it actually has yet!) & seeing our baby on the screen was the most amazing moment! I blubbed. Lovely to see you here xxx

It is SO lovely to see you over here Squirrel!

Faithhope- you must have some crazy hormones to be feeling attracted to Andy Murray!

Becca, I told my manager early on so she'd know why I was having to disappear for appointments and if I suddenly became useless at work she wouldn't think I'm just being lazy! :o I haven't told anyone else yet and will tell them after my scan although I'm fairly sure the people on my team have figured it out! :p

Hope you're feeling better today Faerie and you can enjoy the meal out with your OH tonight. :)

I'm not sure about pregnancy being magical... maybe I'll feel it in a couple of months?? :o

Good stuff about being offered the pregnant seat on the tube MIB- although how offended would you be if you weren't actually pregnant and just a bit bloated?! :)

Sorry to hear your OH isn't doing too well Jox. Hope the anti-depressants work quickly for him, if having his Mum to talk to about the pregnancy helps then I wouldn't mind him telling her. :)

I really hope I get the appointment for my scan soon, I keep checking the post like a mad woman! :o

Has anyone else noticed that their hair is growing more quickly? I was reading the week-by-week on AlphaMom and she mentioned on Week 9 that her body hair was growing at an alarming rate and I thought 'Yes! I swear I shaved my legs 2 days ago and I feel like a yeti already!' :o What an annoying thing to have to deal with! :p

Hormones def kicking in now. Got a really short fuse. So far was able to contain myself though. Took a shower after dinner leaving OH ample time to maybe do the dishes. Came back down and did them quite noisily myself only to have the kitchen door shut on me because of the noise. Just one example. He better not buy himself beers for tomorrow...Don't think I'll enjoy that being pregnant any more than last time. Is it March yet....

I'm about 9+4 :) The midwife has me at around a week ahead though so I'm guessing my scan will be early... which I'm not going to complain about as a) I'll get to see baby sooner and b) they might get me back a couple of weeks later for another scan so I can see baby again! :)

  • Morning ladies, I've not posted for a while but I have been reading. Just been too tired! I've still got nausea but it comes and goes so at least I'm getting a bit of relief. I've got my booking in appointment today and we're also signing the paperwork for our sale/purchase so we should be moving next week :-)

Feeling pretty positive at the moment, can't wait to find out when my scan is.
