    Good morning,
It's a nice sunny albeit chilly morning here.

Only 8 days now until my first scan. I hate the waiting and I'm pretty sure I'm going to be more further along than 10 weeks. I knew exactly how pregnant I was and when I would be due last time round as we'd been trying for over 6 months, but little surprise package is a bit of an unknown for now.

I'm thinking as everything is so opposite maybe I should be team yellow, but I'm like a kid at Christmas. I was adamant I wanted to be team yellow last time, then couldn't take it and asked at the 20 wk scan as I couldn't wait another 20 weeks which in fact was 20+10!

Hope everyone else is still in bed or doing something fun!

  • Morn ....typical day off and wide awake at silly o clock !! .... scan and tests tomorrow very scared but hopeful as heartbeat seen at earlier scans will be ok . The two losses I've had have really scared the pants out of me with this one and I just want to enjoy it !!!

Have a good day every one x

    Morning everyone,

Well just wanted to come back and give you a proper update after the scan. Turns out last week I was losing a baby, however it was one of two that I lost. We still have one healthy baby in there who is doing well. I am measuring 13 weeks exactly and they think I should go on to have a normal healthy pregnancy now.

    xx

Oh Flower, that must have been a really confusing and difficult thing to hear. I hope the rest of your pregnancy is healthy and straightforward :grouphug:

To be honest I didn't (and still don't) know how to feel about it. I was in there being scanned for ages and off she went for a second opinion, when I eventually came out people in the waiting room were staring at me obviously realising I must of had some bad news.
I did have a little cry last night, but then I am just so happy that there is one healthy baby in there, its all very confusing.
I will be having another scan in about 2 weeks to see whats happening with the empty sac.

Big hug - what a mixture of emotions you must be feeling. Hope you're ok and great news that the rest of the pregnancy looks promising.

    Morning everyone, how time flies.

Flower08, sorry to hear about the difficult scan but I am glad they think you'll now go on to have a normal pregnancy.

We have our 12 week scan tomorrow. In fact this time tomorrow we'll be sat in the dreary waiting room :o

I now can't believe its come around this quickly, even though my wife thought it would take ages

We're quite worried at the moment due to the difficulties she's been having with controlling her diabetes. She's gone back to her old ways of binge eating due to stress which means her readings have been all over the place :(. An eating disorder is bad enough anyway but with diabetes it can literally be deadly. She's meant to keep her levels below 7 and its been over this quite often :(. Even though she's definitely pregnant, she almost doesn't quite believe it which means she seems to be in two minds about everything. I'm hoping having the scan will give her a sense of reality and that it's actually happening. She thought she wouldn't dare go back to it when she was pregnant so she's severely depressed that she's still doing it.

Anyway, she's been signed off of work for 2 weeks so I'm hoping she can get things more under control as it can have a big effect on development, particularly the neurological system, and her health too.

So glad your holiday is relaxing you Lily - mine did too. We're going away for 1 night this weekend as well, which hopefully will help me with the nerves for next weeks scan. We have some sun here, but its not that warm as yet. DH is itching to dust off the bbq, but its just not hot enough yet :rotfl:

Lola, we'll be team yellow. We were last time, and I preferred it that way. I still have all the nursery bedding etc from DD which is yellow, orange n green (its a jungle theme from mothercare - can't wait to get it all out again) I managed to get a new border in the same set despite it being discontinued a while back (DD is nearly 7) and the walls will be painted back a lemon colour (they're currently pink and princessy as it then became DD's bedroom up until a year ago or so). All the other equipment, pram etc, was all neutral so its not like we need to find out for any reason. The only thing I didn't like last time was when she was born I only had white/neutral things so people kept asking if she was a boy or girl (particularly in hospital as I had to stay in a couple of days) so this time I think I will buy a couple of bits in blue and pink just before I am due, so that I can take back one of the colours after baby has arrived.

Tooold - Good luck for the scan tomorrow. Can completely agree about it being so much more terrifying after 2 losses. My scan is a weelk tomorrow and I am already anxious for it even tho I have heard the heartbeat and had an early scan. I can't quite believe totally that it will all work out ok for us :o

Oh flower, I'm sorry for your loss :( But I'm also pleased that your baby is doing well and that the prognosis is good for the rest of the pregnancy. Must be a very mixed up time for you tho - big hugs xxx

Retepetsir - Good luck for your scan tomorrow. Has your wife spoken to a midwife about her binges? Or the diabetes team? Maybe they can refer her for some extra help as like you say she is damaging her own health. It must be an awful position for you to be in, as I guess it is hard as to what you say to her - you don't want to make her feel any worse about herself as I imagine that will make things worse with the binging :( Hope she is able to speak to someone about it who will be able to help her.

Amyloofoo - How you doing now huni?

Flower08, it must be a really confusing time for you but it's actually quite common. Also one of my very close friends had this happen and now has a lovely, very healthy two year old you'll be pleased to know :)
