I called them on my virgin phone (789), spoke to customer services and told them I'd like a lobster 700TV. They checked and told me they had refurbished (as new) ones for £19.99 and that come with 6 months warranty.
A steal at that price.0 -

If you had read the thread, you would have known and got yours for £40 +p&p, as in OP, or even less using tribes( virgin employee) code.

i've read the whole thread, and i did buy it thru quidco.
I was tempted to use the 25% discount code,..but couldnt bring myself to do it. I felt that it was wrong, and if I went ahead and used it nonetheless, i will be very irritated with myself for the next couple of days. of well..
I called up to ask about the refurbished phones,..but they only offer it at 29.99??? hmm,...is 19.99 only for virgin customers?0 -
The refurbished one is £19.99 without a sim.0

Yes they have to input a Virgin phone number to complete the order for a refurb. I had one of the free sims unopened, and they accepted that. However some folks managed to blag one without being a customer, so it seems.
Even so, the £10 for a new sim has £5 of calls and comes with the 200 min voucher so good value.
If getting the new one the £10 sim attracts the discount too, so shown as £8 on the invoice if you used the 20% code in the OP, which is not an employee code AFAIK .ac's lovechild0 -
oh...ok
cheers for that.
so its 29.99 with the sim, and 200 minutes?? or is it the sim, with 10 pounds credit? ( i am clueless as to how PAYG work. My OH normally sorts me out...but i cant ask him on this one, as its a surprise)
and, if i have an existing Virgin PAYG sim, it whould work on this phone right?
TIA0 -
If you aren't a virgin mobile customer then the £19.99 refurb phone might be a good idea - you can unlock it for £20 here: http://www.imei-check.co.uk/lobsterunlock.php - otherwise you would need a SIM (£10 extra) and put £30 airtime on it.0

Not as ugly or bulky as I was expecting.
Takes a Micro SD memory card ( not supplied) for applications like Tom Tom.ac's lovechild0 -

Sim has £5 of credit and the 200mins is on a top up credit voucher/card.
Yes it will work with an existing Virgin sim.ac's lovechild0
