had a good chat with the virgin customer service team regarding this phone.

    delivery is 2-99

refurbished phones are 19-99 or 29-99 with a sim card. You don't get 200 mins free. 6 months waranty

new phones are 39-99 or 49-99 with a sim card. You also get a 200mins free voucher. 12 months warranty

i think that is the general pricing unless someone is told differently
Problem with having access to internet is that i get asked by many to solve their problems :( Well at least i learn something on the way :D

had my phone delivered today. the shape is okay but not happy with how the keys feel/work.

radio and tv signals are good. unfortunately you have to have the headphones plugged in for reception.

have a problem with it now. The phone has a security feature called device lock. When the keypad is locked you simply press the unlock button to unlock it and use it. By following the instructions in the manual i had set the device lock so when you press the unlock button you have to type in the password. This prevents anyone from using your phone without your permission. The trouble is it does not recognise my password :-( Has anyone had this problem?

is there a forum that deals with problems with lobster phones?

i emailed virgin for the unlock code, i havent spent any cash with them and they said the unlock code will be here in a few days! bargain!
Trophies are like Buses, you wait 26 years.
Then 3 come along at once!!!!
  • Got mine a couple of days ago. It's fantastic, and a real bargain

Slight hiccup - I'd assumed the msn messenger service was an 'always on' kinda thing (I'm used to my blackberry) but of course all my £5 credit was ticking away; only discovered this when I couldn't pick up emails!

    If you're still wavering, don't!

How long did it take to use £5 credit on MSN? Did you get much use out of it for that money?

And does anyone know if there's a way of getting cheaper internet access from Virgin on this phone? Any bundles or anything, like on Orange?

does anyone know if you can store and view documents (such as Word docs or PDF files) on this phone?

also, there seems to be some confusion about the refurbished phones... are the 200 mins included with these or not? previous posts seem to provide contradictory information....

My Lobster arrived this afternoon. Put sim and battery in , and plugged into socket to charge phone. Orange light came on, then turned to green, on top of phone, but no battery symbol on phone screen, as it should do according to the Quickstart guide. is my phone charging, or am I doing something wrong?
How much credit is on my Sim? £5 or £10?
    Got a 200min voucher.
Have emailed virgin for unlock code
`Save a little money each month, and at the end of the year, you'll be suprised at how little you have.

No, the manual is wrong. All I got was the orange light as well, no battery symbol. Its first charge is quite important, so leave it overnight even if the green light comes on as per the manual instructions.

Ok checked this out in the store (£49.99). It is bulky and not as nice as others, and the keypad is a bad to text with as the reviews suggest. But I dont think it is an ugly phone at all.

Anyone got a refurbished one that can comment on if they were 'as new' or did look used? and have all the parts? Also wondered why they must have a lot returned as they still have refurbished ones as £32.98 (Sales staff more assertive with the sim and postage)

I think if you NEED and will use the PAYG phone or DAB radio TV its a bargain, however it has it flaws and I cant help feeling maybe they got a better one coming soon. This would be nice as it means the service would be maintained.

So sitting on the fence a little longer on this.
