I am a bit confused as well - did you ask for change from a note, or did you simply expect them to give you a trolley?0

I thought they would have gave me a disc which i could have put in the trolley which may other shops do, especially since i was not rude in anyway and kept saying how embarrassed i was not to have change. Or failing that the trolley boy that was putting trolleys away could have helped me out?
This has happened before?
I recommend getting one of the pound shaped discs you can clip onto your keyring, then you'll never be without one. A lot of charities sell them.0 -
Maybe next time try ordering online if visiting a supermarket is so much effort“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0

I can see that it is a nuisance, but there were other solutions available to you. Buy a charity token to keep on your keys and you won't encounter the problem again - or do your big shop online.Still looking for the plot...... Anyone seen it???0

send them a email to head office.. most asdas dont take coins in there trolleys, infact near me i have 4 asdas none of them do ask why not all asdas do this. i would complain .... cant believe customer service dint help you. good job you dint go into labour there , theyd prob charge you 20p to ring 999. good luck0

You went shopping, lacking the ability to do so correctly, and you want to complain about it?
I dont think its Asdas fault you couldnt use their trolley
That's a bit harsh. I don't carry cash with me, it's a complete bind having to get money out for the supermarkets trolleys and sometimes these things aren't planned.
Using this argument nobody should offer returns etcMSE Forum's favourite nutter :T0 -
I think they could have been a lot more helpful in suggesting what you could do, i.e buy a few things and get cash back. I know it sounds an obvious solution that the OP 'should' have thought of herself, but I know there are time in life, be it due to exhaustion, illhealth or brain just not in tip top ondition today' whatever, when we don't see the obvious solution.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0

I havent personally done this before but when i worked in the airport i would always help people if they had no way of getting a trolley with a simple plastic coin.
Maybe i am being over the top then, hormones and all. I just thought you ask 2 people for help and explain your situation in a friendly manner you maybe expect a little help and not to be pretty much ignored.0 -

You assume everyone has a keyring - I've used these in the past - but if I don't have my house keys with me that plan falls down.MSE Forum's favourite nutter :T0 -

But surely he was putting trolleys away that were already chained together? How could he have undone them to give you one without a pound in the first place?0
