Aaaagggghhhhh kids are so blumming expensive. Oldest has outgrown her school shoes and they aren't even fit to sell.....was gonna ebay them. So trip to shoe shop cos she is flat footed so have to buy Cl@rks. £30 later but couldn't not buy. Had get measured first and she is a size and a half bigger. She complained last week that they were tight. However i have a clothing budget (in my new and updated stepchange plan) so that's that blown for the month, but paid for outright.
If it hadn't have been for that i would have had a couple more sfd's under my belt.
Now off for a catchup to see now well you've all done today.

I, jody2, do hear-by swear to clear my £2590 MBNA CC debt by 1st July 2013. I will honour the MSE code of conduct, Will we use it? Is it worth it? Is it cheaper elsewhere? If the answer to any of these is no I won't buy it! This is MY life I am living and no-one else's, I will help myself so that in 3 months I will be debt free (well, at least my credit cards) and living entirely for ME. If I don't do this now I will regret it. Here I stand jody2 fighting the fight for eternal debt freedom.

Evening everyone, not a SFD for me had to buy milk.
Up early today for work and up early again tomorrow, its supposed to be snowing here tonight so I will go out and move my car half way down the hill just in case:( I work too far away to walk and buses dont start running until 6am so thats too late, mind you if the snow is bad I wont be going at all, the upside is not going to work:) - the downside is not getting paid:( so I will have to try and get in.
I have read froogs blog for some time now and find her inspiring, when Im down about money I go on there and her commonsense soon pulls me out of it

Hey everyone!!!
Really sorry I have been slightly absent the last few days... I did clock the posts and have only got around today to sorting out my financial balances.
March has been not the greatest of months and if I'm honest I've been struggling... I'm all aboard the good ship debt free wannabe, but am finding it hard not having any life except work!!!
My family live miles away... since moving I don't have many close friends - and the ones I do have - I don't have the energy or inclination to keep up with. This board is my main social life right now... That's ok - but it's not felt very healthy...
So - this week I sat down and re-assessed things... I've decided to join a gym and have invested some of my money in a membership. I was finding I wasn't committing to just going on my own before work - exercising on my own again. I've done some research around diet etc and have a new goal to run alongside my debt clearance.
I have 2 weeks later in the year that I want to be able to feel and look good for. I have joined the kind of gym where everyone is very goal focused and it is my hope I will feel part of something outside of work/debt. I will get in shape and my health and mood will also improve... Following on from some of Kat's earlier healthy eating posts - I am trying to just eat 'clean', non-processed foods where I can, and find healthy alternatives to some of my unhealthy vices!!! So - I've adjusted my debt totals again... I'm still aiming to be debt free by the end of the year though...
Here's my pledge:
I Abundant do hear-by swear to clear my £9000.00 debt by 31.12.2013.
I will honour the MSE code of conduct. Will we use it? Is it worth it? Is it cheaper elsewhere? If the answer to any of these is no I won't buy it!
This is MY life I am living and no-one else's.
I will help myself so that in 9 months 10 days I will be debt free and living entirely for ME. If I don't do this now I will regret it.
Here I stand Abundant - fighting the fight for eternal debt freedom.
That felt great...
Realised the money I have in my ISA matures today so hopefully should have some interest on that... won't be buckets - but every bit helps!...
Also realised it was the first day of Spring yesterday (the Spring Equinox) I looked up it's meaning... This time of year brings fertility and manifestation on all levels. Day and night are in equal balance... male and female energies are in harmony... Plans which have been incubating under the ground (inside us) can now hatch out... Throw off the restraints of Winter and reach for what we want. Make plans and journey forth...

Hi all, checking in with another sfd, 16/25. tomorrow won't be spend free I believe. will update signature once the damge is quantified!
Kat it was a great idea to call us all to arms again and get everyone pledging to follow the MSE way. As you say, gettng the totals out there is certainly the way to concentrate our minds! Everyone is trying hard, and the year is nearly one quarter over. For my debts to be cleared by the date pledged, i am relying on the following
Car loan paid off this month save £255 a month to go to debts
End April work - annual Bonus £1000, pay rise £50 a month
End july Share scheme matures hopefully at a £5400 one -off, plus £100 contribution ends (yes, with £16k+ debts I was paying into a savings scheme, madness)
So, a combination of all of the above could, if I am very careful, pay the lot off, along with my normal payments of course. I am very lucky to have these things coming up as they will really accelerate the debt-busting. If I hadn't found this site and your own Ultimate Challenge I would be planning what to spend the extra money on instead of paying off the debts so whatever i achieve this year will be down to you and my fellow contenders who are so inspirational, even when things are not going great for them. So, thanks all and keep Onwards and Upwards. SL xMFIT -T5 #420 -
Good Morning all!!
I haven't read any posts since I got home last night do apologies for that as it was a late finish and an early start today!
£20 on eBay last night and more being watched. Bring it on!!! Although no-where near my target!!..:-(..
Am off work today cause I'm going to THE IDEAL HOME SHOW!!! Whoop!! I cannot be responsible for my actions should I spot Martin Lewis!! I might hug him!!! However I feel where's a free day out is offered one shouldn't refuse and it will give me some great ideas for when I want to buy my own little house!!! And motivation to keep pushing down those numbers!!
I have my free MSE tickets, a girlfriend to meet and a massive packed lunch so I buy nothing there. Train ticket for the week bought and stashed as I was getting very cold recently and with the treat of snow (flutters this morning) I thought it best just to use the last of my petrol money sensibly!!!
Right- be good today cause I can't read anything until tonight (stupid iPhone battery)..
I am buying myself breakfast (planned spend) so this is not an SFD!!
Onwards and Upwards!!!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".0 -
Morning all
Spent the day spring cleaning yesterday. I dont just want to get out of debt I want to have a much more organised, decluttered home and the two things seem to fit together for me.
Hopefully I will come across a few more things to ebay too. Thats a task for tomorrow.
So it was a SFD yesterday and another today. Need to update the spreadsheets but I think I am doing OK. We are nearly 3 months through this year already and I feel a bit like I am not making quite as much progress as I had hoped but I am in for the long haul and I can only do what I can.
Enjoy the gym Abundant. Sometimes spending money on the right things makes a lot of sense. Oooh and Kat very envious about the Ideal Home Show but I would just want to buy stuff!!! Have a good time.
Got to run, sat here in my pjs and I have just realised its 8am!!! Have a good day all.0 -
Morning all
Yesterday was a SFD and was also given some freshly laid eggs from my dad's chicks. Would have had some free milk as well if I had remembered to pick it up off the side, DRRR.....
Should be another SFD today, Im also doing another bank shift later today, stroll on April's payday:p, although March's is just around the corner:T:T:T. xxxHalifax CC All paid Mort £7669.99,Car loan 31 months to go

Isn't it funny that as we start to organise ourselves financially, we also start to organise our lives better. Whether it is decluttering, gyming , dieting etc. Since joining this site i have lost pounds, cleared pounds and my house and my head are nicer places to live in.
My thought for the day. L2B.x
