Quite impressed that even though I estimated £70 for it, I actually had £99 left over from my wage after everything had been budgetted for so I can afford it without any worry. Poor kitty was still a bit groggy when we picked her up - she was staggering like she'd had a few too many vodkas! I spoiled her and gave her half a tin of tuna for her tea and the other half this morning as she was sulking she couldn't go out with the others.
My moggy need jabs this month. Since she missed her last and will be getting the "full MOT" it'll be £70. But then again for the new house, since I shall be in a smaller property, closer to another persons room, leaving her for longer sometimes and working weekends - I need to ensure she is happy, smell free, amused and entertained.
April has £190 budgeted for new toys, better food (3 months worth), Kerri's suggestion of cat litter (40L),new toys, new bowls, a scratching mat, a brand new 164cm activity centre, and a soft cuddly cat cave to sleep in...( thankfully Zooplus is free delivery / 10% off for new customers and 5.05% return on TopCashBack.)..:T..

Afternoon all - its very wet here out west today!!
Anyway a sfd - planning a strategic shop for tomorrow - need to do Aprils menu plan today so I buy what i know I need in advance.
Ooh keep fit class last night - down three lbs!! RESULT - the chocolate baby is gradually shrinking however a "friend" has donated a tub of quality street that they were bored of since Christmas - seriously!! It would have been very Un MSE to turn it down wouldn't it? Also another "friend" came for tea last night and brought a box of dairy box - in short the chocolate is stalking me
The frugal queen Cornwall link is fab - but set aside some time to read it - its addictive - you can have it sent through daily to your email account. I think this may have developed my sewing fetish although she has a slight obsession with cooking faggots which I have not embraced!! EnjoyIts what has helped make me so tight over the last couple of months!
Right work to do
Love to all LAGL xx
Need to update sig with days to DFD - that post really made me realise how in reach it really is - thanks KAT.
Anyway for now :j:j 71 days to DFD :j:jDebt free on the 28/05/130 -
Thirfty your post make complete sense. I have taken a £25 emergency fund each month now to ensure I don't have to dip into what has been put away...“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. NSk - everyone with a cat is at the very least, a mad cat woman/man, personally I'm a completely crazy cat woman, I'll be scaring little children when I'm older:rotfl:(Do all towns have a scary cat woman?)
I bought the kitty city activity centre from petplanet. It's made up of different sections that connect together so you can add to the activity centre bit by bit and you can make it as big or as small as you need. and the material parts are washable
Our vet has just stopped doing the vaccinations for life programme, so glad I joined when I did - £100ish up front but their boosters are free for life as long as we take them exactly every 12 months.0 -
His_Missus - yes I have claimed the rights to my town I think. Just googled that kitty City - very cool! I have limited space so I am getting this.....(along with crinkly balls, a laser pen, some toys on strings.. etc )..http://www.zooplus.co.uk/shop/cats/scratching_posts/large/large_cat_trees_height_180_cm/84900
That vet deal sounds amazing!!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Hi all, have updates totals. Haven't had my feedback from ebuyers yet but the messages I have had all seem very happy - so far do good. I realise I am slightly attached to belongings, even stuff no longer useful. I felt sad wrapping some of dd2's bits and sending them although glad others will have use for them. Just things like the dress we bought for her 1st birthday etc but can't keep it as these things date and we have photo's. How pathetic it feels to write this. Plus nearly £40 in the end
NSK - I am determined to keep projecting what I need to put by and never use credit again! With all the years extras that are not month to month it's going to be a considerable amount! I have managed to get through this month with no extra credit and although I haven't saved or overpaid I have had significant extras. Next month I am going away with family and also a weekend to me-break which is much needed due to stress levels and not wanting to burn out. But again I won't be using any credit for it and later I will sit and work out what I want to overpay - for the first time in a while. I will be more realistic with my budgets this time. So although we still have 10 days to go, count me in for next month!Happiness is wanting what you have...0 -
Only just seen the pledge so apologies for the lateness.
I Everhopeful09 do hear-by swear to clear my £3,650 by December 2013. I will honour the MSE code of conduct, Will we use it?Is it worth it? Is it cheaper elsewhere? If the answer to any of these is no I won't buy it! This is MY life I am living and no-one else's, I will help myself so that in 9 months I will be debt free and living entirely for ME. If I don't do this now I will regret it. Here I stand Everhopeful fighting the fight for eternal debt freedom.
First debt to tackle is Mr T CC, only got £435 so I am going to see if I can clear by end of April, rest of debts are interest free.

Oh my goodness, what a day to not log on - I had a long day yesterday and didn't get a chance to get online til I climbed into bed last night. Then, the Forum was down for maintenance  So my lazy morning was spent catching up
Lots to catch up on!!!
First things first - Gretchen, huge hugs to you. What a sh!tty situation to be in. How frightening to be backed into a corner like that by the bailiffs. I'm so happy you felt able to confide in your mum. And, I know how grateful you'll feel to your aunt for helping out but I wouldn't mind betting that she feels glad to have been able to help. My rock bottom moment came a few years ago when I was 3 weeks from payday and I had taken out a Payday loan, cashed a cheque (with no funds in the bank), sold everything I had of any value and I didn't have enough money to even get to work the next day. I was forced to call my parents ask to borrow enough to see me through til next payday. They were wonderful, asked no questions and just transferred the money there and then. Accepting their help is the hardest thing I've ever done, but I look back on it as the springboard I needed to be able to get a grip on my finances. So Gretchen, I'm so sorry you were put in the situation in the first place, but I'm so happy you accepted your family's help.
So, where else were we? Oh yes, the debt pledge...
I Siouxsie32 do hear-by swear to clear my £27,635.69 debt by December 2014. I will honour the MSE code of conduct, Will I use it? Is it worth it? Is it cheaper elsewhere? If the answer to any of these is no I won't buy it! This is MY life I am living and no-one else's, I will help myself so that in 21 months I will be debt free and living entirely for ME. If I don't do this now I will regret it. Here I stand Siousxie32 fighting the fight for eternal debt freedom.
That's what my total was at the end of February. I mildly obsess over my spreadsheets on a daily basisbut only total it up at the end of each month. Hmm, it looks like I have the highest debt to clear. As nannygladys said, it's all relative. It doesn't scare me and, like kat, I know I WILL have it cleared by my chosen deadline.
Had a few SFDs but I did splurge £14.99 on a home waxing kit that was half price as part of my quest for budget essential beauty buys! I'm now planning a waxing/pedicure party for one on Friday nightSo, I won't make the SFD target, but all other budgets appear to be on track...
SFD = 15
Food Spends = £49.19/£50
Petrol Spends = £50/£50
Misc Spends = £84.10/£100
Money made = £133.54/£1000 -
Afternoon all!
Gretchen - so glad you found some help. Horrible thing to happen and it must be a complete weight off knowing that it will NEVER happen again. Good on you for accepting the help as sometimes that can be tough!
So, today for me...
That thing that we had to lay out £40 for was worth it. Today we got £100.00 and we've been asked back to the next stage next week and will get AT LEAST another £100.00. That'll cover all of the travel cards, the few cheeky costas we've had an the one mcd's during this. And we'd have made about £130. And more good vibes please because if we get through this next step then it could be life changing!!
Hubs ended up with a bit more wages than I thought today, so a nice extra bit off the total. Happy days all round!!!0 -
mayfair - after the success of your hula-hooping exercise class, you're auditioning to run another exercise class????
Fingers crossed for you, whatever it is xxx0
