Snap baba moose...Thomas is exactly the same. Thank you for the good advice. I've tried feeding him whilst swaddled but gave been told not to let him sleep like that. I actually had some sleep last night. He settled well once fed and held for a while.

Evening ladies, hope that you've all had a lovely weekend x

We had a busy one: started stripping wallpaper to decorate our downstairs living area, LO officially started crawling :j:eek: (she would choose now, as we decorate!!!) and we went on a Santa Express and LO got to meet Santa for the first time and got her first ever Christmas present - got some fab photos! :D

Anyway, tomorrow I've a meeting at work regarding the whole situation so fingers crossed LO behaves during that!

BTW, A hated being swaddled and also wouldn't settle in her moses basket until she was about 8 weeks old or so. I looked into safe co-sleeping (which isn't for everyone) and also learnt how to feed her lying down and that's how I got through the early weeks.

Hope we all have a good night x

Any tips on what to give a six week old with a cold? It's just snuffly nose at the moment but I don't want it to get any worse.
  • I think you can give saline nasal drops from birth, they unblock. Also you can buy (I think it's called) mum and baby - snuffle bath, it has menthol in it and smells like having a bath in Vicks. We did that for ours every night to help de congest before bed. Raise the mattress they sleep on at night. The first night we co slept when he had a cold and I put Vicks on my chest so he could smell it but it not be on him. But my lo was like 6 months not. 6 weeks :)

An even better Gap offer than the one we had last week..... Today only, online only - 40% off everything + free delivery. Code SUPERDEAL. I'm currently fighting the urge to 'just have a look', as I know what that'll lead to and we don't actually need anything!

That awkward moment when your newborn is sick down your top, into your bra and farts at the same time, projecting yellow poo out of the side of his nappy, down your leggings :S

Oh, and the doorbell rung whilst this was happening.

 That's pretty impressive multi-tasking for someone so small! :rotfl:A friend of mine was at the post office with her newborn in a sling when the man at the counter suddenly stopped what he was doing and just stared at them. Yellow poo was running down *both* legs. :o

It certainly made us chuckle after a hard night.

Little one only lasted 3 hours in his Moses basket before waking at 12pm and fed almost constantly until 4am. We then spent the next two hours trying to settle him before he fell asleep on my chest until 9am.
