Lovely to see you too Vic! Hoping I can keep up with posting!

Chloe is so sleepy today, hate to admit we had a good night but she still seems tired. Hoping to take her to collect my son from nursery later, he keeps asking but I've found the roads are so bumpy around here and today is my first day I've felt pain free so will go in the car with DH.

Does anyone know should I be concerned my 6 day old baby is still having green mucussy poos? She literally has one, you change her and she does another straight away. I've used 54 nappies (2 packs) in 6 days... I told my MW who didn't seem bothered.

Maybe it's normal? I can't even remember from last time!

  • Not sure about the colour (though I do recall LO had mucousy poo at the same age -apparently it is common for them to catch a slight cold due to being passed round lots of people for cuddles) but I think the frequency is completely normal: about 12 nappies per day is usual for the first few weeks!

Hi KScarlet :D! Congrats for your little girl, glad things are going well :)

Jack was green and mucousy for a good week and a half until my milk 'came in'/'changed' then it went brown to yellow from there.

I've just (fingers crossed) finished a morning/afternoon cluster feed (4 hours)... I imagine after the nap it will start again... although it is usually only evening (9-12) but I did post on here that the cluster feeds were tailing off, which sealed my fate for the day.

I've noticed some pain lately when I'm not feeding and also just cottoned on that I go white 'at the tips' when this happens... wondering if I might have some Raynauld's happening as I'm OK during feeds and when they're the normal colour... will ask my HV tomorrow. Anyone else had anything similar though?

I spoke too soon... nap over.

Aww babamoose, I know what you're going through; sometimes I feel like a milking cow!
I've noticed that Thomas likes to nap in the afternoon and I tend to have to cluster feed anytime from 12/1am ish.

I've resorted to nipple shields, simply because I was crying in pain and he was swallowing blood from my cracked nipples. I feel like a weight has been taken off me.

I'm having trouble down there; when I wee, something burns! I know it's not a UTI as it only burns on on part on the right hand side. I'm trying to drink lots of water but I could honestly cry when I go to the toilet.

Fairly sure in the first week he bit a chunk off me (early latching trouble)... certainly looks that way... bit gross.
Avoided shields so far and hoping that I am either half way or more to it getting easier (pitching for the 6-8wk mark). Everything is good in terms of latch etc. now, just the frequency and odd pain when he isn't (!) feeding that's troublesome now.

    The joys of motherhood :D

I have a friend visiting on Thurs, I hope she doesn't just get to watch me feed for all the time she's here.... hah...

    Welcome newbies & returners!!

Eilis had her second jags today, she was an absolute superstar. No tears or screaming, just a wee whimper at the time and then back to smiling at the nurses. Shouted at me when we came home though - pest :rotfl:
  • congratulations kscarlet

glad Ellis was ok with the second vaccines

OMG spent so much on baby clothes and toys this weekend. my dad gave me money to spend on LO so bought a lovely fleece blanket and a knitted blanket from mamas and papas!
