Clarks have 20% off all full price adult styles (sadly not children's...), online and in-store. Code BLING. Ends midnight on Monday :)
  • :hello:
I've been a bit vacant recently, sorry guys.
Congrats on the new babies. I miss the early days. My 7 month old is proper little boy now. Doesn't stay still for a moment and now he's on prper food, he has proper poos ....eeeeew!
I'll read back and catch up on everything.

  • Thanks sparkles, I rang the docs and they put the girls jabs back til the 12th. Mollies still got a bit of a dodgy tummy (she caught it from me, bless her). Amelia hasn't started with it yet.

Saffagal, I can relate. DH said to me the other day that I never do the washing up and he's a good mind to leave it to pile up til I do it. I flew off the handle at that one, the only things he does every day is the washing up in the afternoon and preparing the girls bottles for the night. That's literally all he does apart from the odd tidy around (as in hiding things in cupboards). He wakes up at around 2-3pm and potters around the kitchen til about 3 or 4pm then he comes in and watches tv while the girls play at his feet. I've started noticing lately that all I seem to say is Look at what they're doing, or listen to them they're trying to talk to you as he seems more interested in the tv

Sorry, forgot to say welcome to the new ladies x

  • Vic - we had a few green poo's in the first week but if you're not sure, do call - always best to be sure. Joshua cluster feeds every evening but will then go 4 - 4:30 hours between feeds during the night. I've been quite good with a routine from the start - feed twice from 5pm, 7:30-8pm bath (just water the first week), wrap him in towel and feed him, then get him dressed into sleepsuit then lights off and feed him in bedroom with dull light on. I don't mind as this means I feed him around 3:30 then 7/8am then again around 10:30am.

BabaMoose - lovely to hear from you. Yes Joshua the same; I can see he has gotten bigger yet when anyone else has him or he is in his pram, he looks diddy. I do love the random women that gasp and say "oh what a tiny baby, how old is he? He's so cute!"....I'm always happily proud to stand and chat. Think Joshua is a little charmer - he likes to give women a slanted smile (imagine Joey from Friends in a baby-form lol) and when they smile back at him he tries to talk and gets excited. Very cute.

IHateDida - hope you feel better soon, I know nobody likes being sick but I really hate it; I turn into a man and become useless!

Not sure if it's any use to anyone but pumpkin patch have a great sale on all their children's clothes until Tuesday and code UKPRSC3 gets you an extra 20% off plus free delivery. I placed an order last week and the clothes that arrived, are really lovely - very impressed. Got an outfit reduced from £30 to 7.50 plus the trousers have an adjustable waistband. Little man will have a lovely wardrobe when he goes into newborn.

    Thank you angelmommy...invaluable advice.

I fed at 10pm for an hour and am up at 2.45 feeding, so not too bad. I find that he struggles to settle in his Moses basket after a feed.

Vic, don't know if you've tried these to settle your LO but in the first couple of weeks we found swaddling and putting a hot water bottle in her Moses basket worked wonders to settle her. I'd take the hot water bottle out about 2 mins before lifting her in. Think they just like to feel warm and close.

Woke up with a stinking cold yesterday :( Hubby has been getting all the cuddles as I'm worried she'll catch it. He's also been giving her a bedtime expressed bottle which has meant me getting 7 hours sleep each night, amazing!! Just want to start feeling better now :)

I can empathise! My OH's idea of 'looking after' LO is to be in the same room as her with the TV on. Honestly, there are days when I just want to get rid of the bl**dy TV altogether! LO has started picking up the remote controls and saying 'daddy'. Nuff said! :rotfl:
  • Vic - Lobey is right, swaddling is good. I found Joshua liked his arms up by his face though so would swaddle with them up so he could sleep with his arms up (all scans he had both arms up!). I also noticed he suffers from cold feet so put a thin pair of socks on him before putting his sleepsuit over - seemed to help. He slept 10pm until 4:30 today, then after a 10 min feed, slept until 7:15am - yay. He's asleep again now. X

Angelmommy, your little man slept better than my 18-month-old! :o

My LO hated swaddling as well as sleeping bags from the word go - she'd scream her little head off if she didn't have room for a good kick about! But certainly worth a try - our little people are all so different!
  • Jack is not a fan of his moses basket!! Or swaddling... Or much that doesn't involve being held by someone... !

He slept quite well last night though now that cluster feeding appears to be tailing off a little bit... did a midnight wake up, 5am wakeup and then a 10am wakeup... Made me happy to catch up on some sleep... the night before he was only asleep for about an hour and feeding for what seemed like an eternity the rest of the time.
