My parents are buying me a Cambridge satchel :j I've wanted one for ages, but couldn't justify spending £130 on a bag.

I like the Clare fund idea - a special pot of money that must be spent on treats and never on boring things :)

The bag I've asked for is a cheap imitation :( but it is yellow with polka dots :D

    Hallo ladies :)

Re nappies: A is an expert at doing poos that explode up her back so we are currently using Sainsbury's own nappies for day time as they're the only ones I've been able to find with an elasticated back which helps minimise the problem. Have to admit I don't really like them, but its much better than soiled clothes everyday! At night we're in pampers as Sainsburys don't keep her dry overnight.

My birthday is a couple weeks before Christmas and I've asked for a pacapod from OH :D and a little vacumm cleaner from my parents. Everyone else, I've asked for vouchers. I've asked for vouchers for Christmas too as we want to redo the living room, dining room and a play area so the vouchers would be much appreciated there!

I like the idea of a "Clare fund" Claree. It is difficult having your birthday close to Christmas

We're debating Christmas at the moment - I'd much rather just spend the day, just us, at home then go to my inlaws on Boxing day. BUT, my mil and sil's are SOO looking forward to seeing A over Christmas I know they'll be disappointed if we don't go over on Christmas day too :(

Does anyone else sit in the car, on the drive/outside the house, because LO has fallen asleep and you want them to actually have a nap? :o I did it again this morning and the neighbour came out to ask if I was ok.

I do have another question for those who BF; when you start weaning and little one then reduces bfs, how do you make sure they are getting enough to drink? Do you just offer water through the day?

    Have a good day all

I didn't BF Saffa, but I didn't really offer water until weaning as I felt it impacted on his milk intake if I did :o I left a cup out at all times for him to get to (on the floor before he could pull himself up) now it's just laying anywhere usually, he drinks 2-4 tall beakers a day now but in the beginning would be lucky to have 4 sips, but definitely offer it with food, if you are doing BLW they tend to get thirstier than puree :) xx

Hello all, been at MIL over the weekend, so I've just read back to catch up. We're on Boots own nappies (works out cheap as I get staff discount). Liked pampers and Aldi from the trial pack we had, didn't get on with Sainsbury's. T can't use Johnsons stuff it really dries him out. I'm not fussy about brands really.
For Christmas I've found myself asking for really practical presents as gone are the simple joys of pootling round the shops!
Saf, we give T a cup with meals. Was advised to try not to let him have more than 1oz (30ml) as that could mess with his feeds, but I don't think any more than that has gone in anyway. It's more so he can get used to it so when he is eating more he can have some drink too.
I've been keeping up with my peanut butter and he's been fine, but not had himself again yet. I'm fairly certain it was the tomato, we'll have to watch that with him.
Slowly getting things together for T's Christening in a couple of weeks. We're doing a buffet so doing lots of little shops to get all the bits. Also thinking of a haircut when my mum and dad come for a few days this week, big event as not had it cut since June 2012. (other than a chop I did myself!?!)
Hope all the colds start to clear soon.
    L.xxx

Oh yes with water etc, doidy cups are very good for with meals. They are open so easily spilled but if it's only water it doesn't really matter. I have heard they're good for breast fed babies as they will lap at the liquid as opposed to a spout or teat which they may reject :)

Very jealous, I've wanted one forever, which colour are you hoping for?

The batchel in vintage, I think :) I love the ones in red and oxblood, but as it's a bag I expect to use for years I'm thinking that something more neutral might be better...?

Oooh I love the red one! I'd go for the one you really like. There's not much red doesn't go with anyway. I'm guessing you're not much of a pink wearer?! I'm all for colour over neutrals :)

I've made my crimbo list now, book, watch, earrings, e-course, bag. Just got to give to OH to distribute ideas to various family members. Can't wait for Christmas this year with George :D

OH is bathing G right now, love hearing them giggling together :o

I've heard Doidy cups are good. We've a free flow cup so when it's bashed about, it's not too messy! I'd agree, the times we've forgotten our cup he's just sipped out of my cup (only water) and finds it much easier as he does sort of lap at it

:rotfl:How did you guess?!..... You're right, of course.

Maybe I should go for red or oxblood after all.... Hmmm, decisions, decisions. Although if I want the oxblood one, I'd better get ordering (I'm ordering it myself, as my parents live abroad) as it's says 25 days for delivery due to demand
