I'm having the worst night since Rebecca was born - pretty much non stop screaming since 8pm - I feel guilty that I am leaving her to cry a lot of the time but I'm getting angry that she won't settle - is that normal?
I don't know what is wrong with her - nothing is settling her - she did sleep for 10 mins with the white noise from you tube but obviously didn't last
I'm still downstairs as hubby needs to be up for work in 4 hours - don't reckon I will sleep tonight at all :-(0 -
Nessie that was me last week. Is she arching her back and fighting you? If so maybe you could try some extra winding in case she has trapped gas. Amelie eventually wore herself out after what seemed like an eternity, so Rebecca will have to run out of energy sometime! My OH is far better at settling her when she's in a state as I lose patience quicker having been around it all day but he often tries holding her close in a dark room and just breathing loudly and slowly in and out which seems to work for him.
Hope something works soon and you get some rest!
I'm annoyed at being wide awake while bubs is snorty sleep breathing on me, she's so loud! Also I dozed off in front of the tv earlier had it seems to have given me an annoying second wind!0 -

YesI've been incredibly frustrated about my LO not sleeping on many an occasion. I know there'll be a reason and that something must be bothering her, but when you're sleep deprived and generally knackered, common sense doesn't necessarily feature in your thought process. Big hugs to you, I hope you got some sleep in the end x
Crap night here tooShe woke up screaming at 11pm, I couldn't settle her so brought her in with me, she fell asleep again fairly quickly, but moved around a lot in her sleep, so I kept waking up. Then woke up at 2.45 and spent the next two hours rolling about and kicking me (not in an angry way, more in an 'if I keep moving about I won't have to sleep' kind of way). Fell asleep again just before 5, then wide awake and up for the day at 5.45  She's now dancing around the living room with a pair of (clean) knickers around her neck that she's pulled off the dryer. Yawn.
Morning allHope everyone else had a better night.

Rebecca wore herself out at about 12.30 & we ended up sleeping on sofa (I know it is a big no no but we both needed sleep!) & she slept until 5! Paying for it now with a really achy & sore arm where I was holding her!
She was sick a couple of times before settling - maybe that is why she didn't settle? It was just hard as I haven't had it that bad before - it was a shock to the system! She wasn't arching her back but she was fighting me - felt like I was winding her constantly!
DH is useless when it comes to settling her - he gets panicky & nervous when she cries & I think she senses it & gets worse!
But I will keep leaving them alone together in hope it will get better - he will be the person looking after her from 9 months - he needs to get used to it!
We have her first jabs tonight - fingers crossed she is ok & we don't have a repeat of last night!0 -
Morning all, bad night here too. Took from 7 until 9:15 to get her settled in her cot, then she woke at 9:50, 10:40, 11:36, and 1 when I gave up and brought her into bed with me. Had a singing session around 3ish and kicking around 5ish before up for the day at 7:15. I'd really like my sleeping baby back. She does seem to have a snotty nose today so perhaps that's why? DH did try to settle her at her first wake up but she screamed until he called me in
Oh dear, a doidy cup fell into my amazon basket last night - oops
Nessie my DH is a bit like that too though he is getting better with settling her. He got her to nap over the weekend! Mind you, he's not done a nappy for ages as it always turns into a major drama and I find it easier quicker and less messy to deal with it myself. When I go back to work he's going to be getting her up and to nursery three mornings a week... Oh to be a fly on the wall that first month especially!
Good luck for Rebecca's jabs today x
A is 7 months old today! Where have those months gone?
Hope everyone has a good day, we're stuck indoors waiting on the postman and will hopefully get out for a walk this afternoon0 -
:rotfl:How did you guess?!..... You're right, of course.
Maybe I should go for red or oxblood after all.... Hmmm, decisions, decisions. Although if I want the oxblood one, I'd better get ordering (I'm ordering it myself, as my parents live abroad) as it's says 25 days for delivery due to demand
Definitely get the colour you really want!! If you get a neutral one you won't use it as much
Little miss is not loving the cold weatherShe was stuck in her buggy for ages this morning in the cold and shr won't keep a blanket on... I'm toying with the idea of getting a buggy snuggle type thing except Ii think she might kick holes in it

My LO loves her Kaiser footmuff - it's like a fleece-lined duvet with a zip and I struggle to see how you'd be able to kick holes in it! She'll go and sit in the buggy and wrap it around her even if we're not going anywhereWe too had problems with blankets being kicked off. The other option would be something like a pair of warm fleece trousers - I bought some for LO that were a couple of sizes too big, so I could just pull them up on top of whatever she was wearing. Impossible to kick off

:T We've accepted an offer on our flat! I'm so excited!:T
Ahem. Anyway, hugs to those that had bad nights. hope tonight is better for everyone. G slept through til 5.55am so pretty good - don't know if it was giving him his inahler before bed or what but I won't complain! Could have done without him going batty when I didn't get him up immediately - we have a rule that its still 'nighttime' until 6.15 when OH gets up for work, and as such until then he gets laid down again as if it was the middle of the night. It was so clearly a temper tantrum rather than actual upset-ness it was just frustrating! I left him to it while I got my shower.
BUT we went to the cafe at Tesco to celebrate (I know, cheap date!) where I got him his first babycino. He wouldn't touch it! Ha! Tbh I'm not really sure about the whole idea, I think its the name that puts me off, just a bit too...twee? I don't know. I'm rambling when I should be either working or of nothing else trying to find a house to buy!Newborn thread member
