has anyone got any recommendations for a travel cot?
Absolutely fab: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Baby-bed-travel-furniture-cribs/dp/B0041GEQPE/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1385381904&sr=8-3&keywords=Baby+bed+travel+cot+furniture - instructions are poop but once you have mastered it, its brill! My LO slept in it at the age of 10 weeks for several nights whilst we were away. In fact we are using it tonight also as we are going away but for just one night this time!
I am also going to use it as a play pen when LO gets a little bit older.
Sorry....haven't had time to read all posts yet....but will catch up later in the week! Hope everyone is ok0 -
Re. Johnsons - I'd never buy it, just looking at the list of unpronounceable ingredients is enough to scare me! We tried Aldi nappies, but I thought they felt too stiff and papery, also tried Sainsbury's own brand nappies (back in the days when they were free if you spent more than £50...) but we're sticking with Pampers. Also love Pampers wipes.0

We're own brand for pretty much everything
we've even been using tesco value wipes for months now and they're fine, probably use one or two more for a dirty nappy change but even so it still works put cheaper. I'll try most own brand/value things once, tried value nappies too, were ok in the daytime but no good overnight.
We've just been to the docs and got G an inhaler, haven't tried it yet but I can't imagine he's going to be too happy about it! He's up and down today - moany and clingy at home this morning then in the doctors waiting room he thought it was hilarious to try and run away. The receptionist even came through to the back room where we were to see who was laughing so much!Newborn thread member

R.e travel cot, we had the Asda red kite one, I bought a plush mattress for it from amazon, and we loved it.
R.e products, we use Burt's bees as he had v sensitive dry skin when he was younger, Johnson's made it so much worsewe use Aldi sensitive wipes here too 2.50 for 4 packs and they last ages, Asda little angels nappies we like too, definitely on par with pampers IMO and almost half the price for when we're not in cloth. We are fussy with clothes but purely because half of the stuff out there just won't fit his weird proportions. Asda I have no chance of them staying up on him at all
R.e dropping centiles, the centile that a baby is born on isn't the one they'l settle on, how well they've fed while attached to the placenta and then once they're on the outside fending for themselves (sort of) and I certainly believe they should be allowed to find there line, without HV going bonkers, obviously as long as they're still gaining. I know of a few ladies who sadly have felt forced into formula top ups when there babies are still gaining as they had dropped centiles. There are loads of other signs of a thriving baby. If they're obviously unhappy though and not feeding well and dropping centiles, get it looked at.
As for us, we've just had lunch, French toast with red sauce dip for the little terror, and fruit and cream for afters. Hopefully nap time soon as some stocking fillers I ordered arrived today so I'm dying to open themThe frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
What's everyone getting for xmas? My birthday is 6 days before as well and I can't think of a thing that I want!
I'm thinking of just asking everyone for money to put in a "clare fund" to get my hair/nails done and buy books etc throughout the year - but that's a bit boring! My Debt Free Diary

I've got a book, bag, watch on my crimbo list so far. Other than that vouchers would be nice so I could treat myself.
What mixer are you getting Gilly? I got a Kenwood a couple of years ago and love it. Would LOVE a kitchenaid though...Newborn thread member

I'm not sure yet
my OH will pick it so up to him I guess, I wouldn't mine either a kenwood or a kitchen aid
though the latter are very pretty

My parents are buying me a Cambridge satchel :j I've wanted one for ages, but couldn't justify spending £130 on a bag.
I like the Clare fund idea - a special pot of money that must be spent on treats and never on boring things0 -
