Nessie have you been to the dr about reflux? I have total sympathy regarding that the ladies on here know how hard we had it with reflux. It only started getting better at weaning. Now he's hardly sick, hardly any acid.Newly Married, not a 2b anymore!! Mum to two wonderful boys!0

Not a good night last night - went to bed just past midnight Rebecca didn't settle till 1 - up at 3 & didn't settle til 6 & up again at 8
DH was woken for the first time ever at 5 & got up & went downstairs & fell asleep no offer to help or anything & wondered why I was annoyed with him when he woke me up at 8!
Still feel like Rebecca has reflux - just fed her (bf) & as soon as she finished she screams then burps then burps again & you can hear the sick coming up - then for a while after she screams & scratches & is generally like a demon child with nothing settling her for bout 10 mins but I know the doctor will still fob me off cos she is gaining weight well!
Sounds like most weekends aren't off to a great start!
Our daughter had quite bad reflux, she couldn't sleep laying flat as she would vomit, she was breast fed but after each feed she was given a small amount of a special thickener to reduce the risk of vomiting, for her it worked fantastically.0 -
My LO has started fussing when feeding her and being more sicky, not sure why as she doesn't seem to suffer too badly with wind. Not sure if my milk has started coming out too fast for her.
Plus she has now decided she doesn't like bottles. OH has been feeding her an expressed bottle at 11pm for about 4 weeks without any problems (I could tell she preferred boob but she would still take it), past couple of nights she has just flat out refused! Any tips on how to get her to have it? Supposed to be going out for a meal with friends tonight but if she won't take a bottle I'll end up having to come home.0 -

We had the issue with the silent reflux, and because he was gaining they didn't care. It sounds terrible and I don't want it to sound like I don't care but 10 minutes isn't too bad, is it only ever that amount of time after a feed? Generally with us he would scream for around 2 hours after every feed, sleep for 1hour and want fed again
Have you tried cutting dairy? It can help with reflux if you're breastfeeding if not though go back go back go back. If they fob you off ask for a referral to the hospital, they can't say noThe frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
Sorry to all the ladies having a rubbish time - I'd insist to the doctor something is wrong and don't stop till they listen. No one knows your baby better than you.
Eilis has been like a different baby since she's been getting calpol and her water between feeds, poor lamb must have a wee virus or something. My Debt Free Diary

I'm not sure how old she is, but have you tried using a cup? You can use a plastic one or one that has a very small spout, tip it enough so that milk is on her lips, so if she wants she can refuse it or open her mouth. It does take them a little while to get used to it but they soon learn, as do you, I found it a bit tricky at first as I was worried I was giving her too much in one go.0 -
Evening all, quiet on here today! Hope a good day has been had by all.
We had a lovely day - OH was off, which was a bit of a novelty, and LO loved being the centre of attention and having both parents around all day. The evening wasn't quite as good though - teething is back with a vengeanceOH went to visit some friends, so I had been looking forward to pizza & x factor, but ended up shoving most of the pizza in the fridge, switching off the tv and getting ready for bed in a rush at 8.30pm when I just couldn't get her to stop screaming. When she's teething, all she wants is cuddles. She's now fast asleep in my bed and I'm not even tired, but I dare not get up in case I wake her. Poor little thing

Thanks Sunshine
Your day sounds fab! My LO still hasn't had a babyccino, and given that we live slap bang in the middle of yummy mummy land, I bet that makes her the odd one out around here! I'd better make sure she has one before she's able to tell her friends! Speaking of which, she has replaced her nursery boyfriend (who'd give her a hug and a toy every morning) with a toyboy who not only is two months younger than her, but is also about half her size. He follows her around all day and screams 'nooooo! ' if he doesn't get to sit next to her at mealtime  :rotfl:
