You made shortbread *yesterday* and you've still got some left? That's pretty good going! Although I guess you've spent a significant part of the day being locked out and unable to get to them!
My LO hasn't discovered puddles yet - she still enjoys sitting in the buggy and pointing at dogs/pigeons/squirrels/planes/trains whenever we're out and aboutAlthough she did apparently get her clothes wet in the nursery garden earlier this week and promptly said 'uh-oh!' :rotfl:

Haha bless her!
The shortbread was actually made on Wednesday and there's still some left! Only because I made it gluten free for OH so I feel bad eating his 'special' treats. I did get a huge chocolate cookie today and munched that - while G was napping. So I didn't have to share:D

No baby for me, but I thought I'd jump on the thread in case any of you have an Angelcare baby monitor. Just seen a recall article if you have models: AC1100, AC201, AC300, AC401 AC601 and 49255 that did not include rigid cord covers. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2511431/600-000-Angelcare-baby-monitors-recalled-strangulation-deaths.html
Oh goodness - thank you for this - I have a AC401. I bought mine from Amazon - they should be sending out emails to all those who bought them - but they haven't!
Good luck with the impending birth by the way....see you on here in the not too distance future! x
Edit: Just found out that they are not recalling them in the UK....http://angelcareuk.co.uk/sites/default/files/files/angelcarestatement.pdf but I am going to email them for the kit anyway - better to be safe than sorry - thank you kerri!0 -
Morning ladies,
My weekend has been ruined, was meant to be going for a meal with oh tonight, first time we've been out together in months and now he wants to cancel because lo is just not settling at night, every night this week he's been brought into bed with us and oh was moaning that he will learn to get used to it. So last night I stayed up for the longest hour of my life trying to keep lo in his crib. Then ended up bringing him back into bed.
I'm absolutely shattered and can't understand why he's suddenly started waking in the night on and off every half hour or so. I had about 4 hrs sleep last night all in all and that was broken. I was looking forward to tonight, bought a new top and fake tanned, hoping we'd enjoy ourselves but it's been ruined and I'm sad.
I'm so sorry for writing such a depressive post I really am. I guess I just thought 8 months in it would be easier not harder! Off to De ice my car! Yey!Newly Married, not a 2b anymore!! Mum to two wonderful boys!0 -
Big hugs hun x Same thing happened here at that age - it was at eight and a half months and coincided perfectly with me going back to work. Like you I spent hours trying to keep her in her cot, but more often than not she'd end up in our bed so I could get some sleep. Like Gilly said, at that age there's so much learning and development going on, their little brains struggle to switch off. I know how exhausting it is, but can't really offer any advice as I didn't find a better solution than what you're already doing. I hope you're able to have your night out, if not tonight then sometime soon x0

I have been there too. I remember spending many a night leant over his cot trying to settle him for hours, only to end up bringing him in with me. I went back to work too and when its 4am and you need to be up at 545, well I did anything just to get a bit of sleep.
I am afraid I cannot offer any advice either, I never found a way of solving it. Aidens sleep just improved at about 15-16mnths and I have no idea why.
Talk to your OH though, if he has an issue with him being in your bed, could he try and settle him in his crib? Aidens wake ups did decrease when he moved to the cot, he had more room to roll without bashing the side of the basket in his sleep.
I hope he changes his mind and you get to go for your meal x x x x
Morning everyone else
It is sooo cold here. My car is thick with ice. We wanted to take A to the parade in town for the lights being turned on. We may have to go early and get a seat in Starbucks so he wont be cold!!
Katie, what a rubbish day! Hope you had that glass of wineG sounds like such a good little boy. I let A walk around town yday and he was all over the place!
Took A back to drs yday as the rash was now on his knees and elbows. Dr was ever so funny, he said he has no idea what it is and that it was ever so weird!! Told us its def viral but virals usually start on the stomach and are flat rashes, this is bumpy and not on his stomach. He checked him all over and said he is not worried at all and to take him back if we are....baffled!!

Hugs MrsH what a shame about your night out
. At about 9 months I did controlled crying with G, when he no longer needed night feeds and was messing about on the boob. It was a crappy couple of nights but it did the trick and he slept through from then on. Not so much at the moment but he generally goes straight back off when we lie him back down in the nights now. It's not for everyone, but I couldn't carry on how I was any longer. And it really did wonders for LO's mood in the day as he was getting uninterrupted sleep.
I had my first lie in in months this morning. Haven't slept past 6.10 for I can't remember how long. OH has gone back to bed now!
Hope you find somewhere toasty to watch the parade Sunshine!
We've got two viewings of the flat today so got to get tidied through and sorted out this morning. Then off to the garden centre with a friend who owes me afternoon tea from my birthdayNewborn thread member

Not a good night last night - went to bed just past midnight Rebecca didn't settle till 1 - up at 3 & didn't settle til 6 & up again at 8
DH was woken for the first time ever at 5 & got up & went downstairs & fell asleep no offer to help or anything & wondered why I was annoyed with him when he woke me up at 8!
Still feel like Rebecca has reflux - just fed her (bf) & as soon as she finished she screams then burps then burps again & you can hear the sick coming up - then for a while after she screams & scratches & is generally like a demon child with nothing settling her for bout 10 mins but I know the doctor will still fob me off cos she is gaining weight well!
Sounds like most weekends aren't off to a great start!0
