  • Because Rebecca is so very close to being out of her 0-3month clothes I browsed local Facebook selling groups & came across a lady selling bundles of clothes for £5 each - she explained a bundle was a bin bag full of 3-6 & big iceland bag of 6+ so I got her down to £7 for the 2 bundles & this is what I got

    3-6 month
    13 baby grow, 17 vests, 14 dresses, 2 dungarees, 2 cardys, 12 trousers, 2 shorts, 5 jeans, 2 pj bottoms, 1 track suit, 28 tops, 7 nappy covers, 3 swimming costumes, 4 hats

    6month+
    1 jacket, 5 dresses, 5 tops, 4 trousers, 2 jeans, 2 shorts, 4 dungarees, 23 vests

I can’t believe it! Some of the stuff is really expensive to buy brand new like a little summer dress with hat from jasper conran (sp?) lots of next stuff!

I am going to have one trendy baby! And I'm sure if I spend a bit of time & effort into bundling them up in small bundles I could make money on them when I'm done!

Got an email from pumpkin patch & my order is dispatched - didn't realise it comes from New Zealand! Can't wait for it to arrive!

Talking of swimming - how old was your LO when u first took them swimming?

Who has done a baby massage course? Was it worth doing? I don't know whether it is just a fad or something the cool people do!

My local pool does this. Aqua tots here, £3.75 for an hour and they have floats, rings and toys and an instructor if you want them. I love it, so does A. x x

Will check it out, thanks :)

I hate coffee though, in all formats. Which is a pain as I like the sound of the xmas costas and starbucks but always have to go for a hot choc which isnt as adventurous!

Oh me too, I prefer costa though cause they give you marshmallows.

Shop around if you can. I was going to sign up to a Water Babies course - but then I found a similar group £100 for 15 lessons.

I think Water Babies prices are a rip-off and a lot of the mums at our group have avoided them due to the fees they charge. Hopefully you can find a cheaper group locally - it took me quite a bit of searching as the cheaper ones don't do much advertising. However both me and LO love it - she has so much fun (she doesn't mind going under water nor her face being splashed) and it really tires her out - a good nights sleep is guaranteed!

There's one thats £110 for 10 lessons which isn't much better, I'll keep looking!

Still worried about Eilis. Had her at the doctor and she basically said she's fine but I feel totally palmed off. She didn't take a bottle from 8am to 9pm yesterday and that's just not right. She's really unsettled during the day as well and my oh couldn't console her at all last night, I had to come home from college and eventually she slept. I'm going to try to see my own doctor today for a second opinion 'cause I trust her.

Is anyone else having a problem with burping? As soon as I take the bottle away she gets herself all worked up and then is too hysterical to burp so I end up giving the bottle back.
  • Morning! Wow great find nessie, your lo will be very trendy indeed! We have so many 0-3 stuff, have a massive vaccumm bag full.. oh claree your poor lo, very strange that she didnt have a bottle all day. Would def see your doctor.

Afm, lo screamed for an hour after going into his cot last night at 7.30 and eventually fell asleep at 8.30, any tips on how to get him to sleep quicker? Also where would you put lo for afternoon nap? If we are out he sleeps in pram but not sure whether to try the cot as he is crying so much when he is put in it.

I live and breathe coffee (decaf though ;) ) couldn't live without my espresso machine. Enjoying one right now actually while my Dad entertains A. Bliss :)

Anyone else have a non growing child. A is currently wearing pjs he got last Xmas 9-12 months and they still fit fine as do most of his 9-12m stuff  he's 2 soon!

Happy hump day to everyone, closer to the weekend now, and we're going to the Christmas markets on Saturday :) woo.
The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.
  • Morning ladies - catching up on made in Chelsea, love it because they are so different to me!

Nessie - well done on bargain clothes. Love it!
Claree - def go and get a second opinion for your own piece of mind, also my lo screamed if we took the bottle away too soon, like he was too hungry for a burp so we left it another 30ml before trying to burp.
Minimuffin - my lo will not sleep in his crib until bedtime, we have a travel cot downstairs but if I want a nap I nap with him on the bed.

Crap night for us last night - I woke lo when applying his cream so he kicked off until he came into bed, then when I put him back down he woke for his dummy nearly every hour until 4 then had to come back in bed again till I went to work at 6 where he woke every 20 mins for his dummy until 7:30 for oh. I think it may be time we thought about putting him in his own room, think we'll buy bedding in jan sales and then move him in! He'll be 10months by then anyway.
Newly Married, not a 2b anymore!! Mum to two wonderful boys!

Eilis is just into 3-6 month this week so I bundled up her 0-3 stuff and posted it on gumtree. Lady emailed me saying she was a respite foster carer and looking for stuff so I gave her it all for a tenner, was about 13 outfits, a pram suit and I gave her all of the sleep suits and vests I was going to chuck out too - they were well worn, didn't think anyone would buy them. She got a bargain but at least it was a good cause.

Eilis loved swimming when we took her, she loves the bath though so I thought she would, just not convinced lessons are worth the money at the moment.

With Eilis we went back after 2 mins to "shh" and reassure and then went 5 mins and then every 10 mins. After 3 nights of this she went down with no crying at all and still does even after moving from basket to cot. I did have to get up twice last night to give her her dummy though but I'm sure that's less than the night before.

She hates naps, I'm currently letting her fall asleep on me and then putting her in her cot or if we've been out I let her sleep on in her pram when we get home.

I dunno if you have one near but ikea is good for baby bedding :)

Called and I can't get an appointment 'till Friday. I took it anyway and I'll just call nhs24 if I'm not happy before then. I plan to give her 2oz water at about 10ish and then we're going for a buggy walk at 11 so hopefully she'll take a bottle afterwards. If not I'm calling them. I've started making notes of her feeds/naps/unsettled periods to take with me on Friday to see if I am overreacting or not.

Has anyone ever joined a buggy walk? It just seems like a bunch of people going for a walk but I thought I'd try it. Got a bumps and bundles group tomorrow morning as well so hopefully there'll be more babies her age than the other group we go to.

Morning! LO is STILL asleep - she loves her morning naps (takes after her dad unfortunately - goodness knows how I will drag her up for nursery at 6am when I go back to work!).

There was a mention of personalised Xmas stockings a while back - I need some inspiration - what did you buy? I have been looking on Ebay and there's too much choice!

Nessie - I went to baby massage - to be honest I don't practice it now apart from on LO's legs - she loves having her legs massaged when she is sitting on me, really chills her out. But it was nice to get out. I also did it when baby was a bit older - 18 weeks - and its so much better at that age as they are more chilled and don't cry so much! (although she was the oldest in the class by quite a few weeks....she was also the quietest!)

Wow Nessie - what a bargain! I haven't heard from Pumpkin Patch yet...hope they haven't forgotten my order :-(

Minimuffin - I put LO in a lightweight sleeping bag and in her cot for afternoon nap. Its still a bit hit and miss whether she will nap....but I am trying - and if she rubs her eyes, its normally a guarantee that she will stay! If she won't nap - we go out in the pram - otherwise the witching hour turns into 3 hours rather than just the 1 hour!!!!

claree - I have only burped at the end of a bottle or when LO has drank all she wants - never inbetween. Never risked burping inbetween as she becomes distracted and won't go back to her bottle!

Anyway - hope you all have a lovely day....I can hear stirring.....so I guess I'd better get myself into gear!!!!
  • Gilly - My nephew has stopped growing for ages as well. My sis has a load of 12-18 month trousers stashed under the cot as he got to 9-12 quite fast and figured rather than buying more 9-12 they'd do the next size up....and he's been stuck there for ages!!

Re: Stockings - Its actually dead easy to make a stocking if you have a sewing macine *I don't really expect anyone to really find the time to do this but thought I'd suggest it anyway....Lots of online tutorials. I made ioans last year http://aderyndu.blogspot.co.uk/2012/11/a-new-crafter-on-block-and-seasonal.html

**will add though that my LO tends to be in bed by 6.30 so I had a lot of evenings to work on it.

  • just so you all know I love Nutella spread and marmite. I like coffee too but I'm cutting down my caffeine cos I'm bfing. I liked trying a gingerbread latte for the first time this year :D

LO is smiling more and is having more regular settled periods - I feel like I love him a lot more and feel more tolerant and he's more gorgeous. He's not going to bed earlier - 130 this morning. I marvel at people who get their babies to go to sleep at 7pm.

I go to baby massage but find it hard to use at home cos you need to do it on a calm baby! I do like it lots. I do the tummy massages and baby yoga for colic and it helps get rid of some wind plus baby has been pooing more regularly since I've done it.

A nearby sports centre (Batley Baths) offer 10 free swimming lessons to LOs but I worry that he's too small and he'll get too cold.

I go to buggymovers, stay & play at my local sure start, baby massage and baby cafe for breastfeeding support. I also have 2 friend with 2 LOs nearby that I visit.
