  • Aw Cleofish, hopefully tomorrow will be a better day. Don't worry, she can't cry forever, even if it feels like it sometimes.x
  • No advice really Cleofish but a virtual hug x

LO went into her own room this week, she was so tired and couldn't settle in the travel cot in her toddle pod so out of my own tiredness and frustration I put her down into her cot and she fell straight asleep, so I put her down there the next night and the next two and she's gone off to sleep either herself or with a bit of patting and shhing so I think she was ready for the space. I would have had the cot in our room for six months if we had space but we don't so making sure she has dummy and goes down on her back and monitor on of course.
    ETA...she's 4.5 months

ETA: Has anyone tried the water babies swim lessons? It's £145 for 10 weeks ( ) just wondering if anyone's done it and thinks its worth it?

Shop around if you can. I was going to sign up to a Water Babies course - but then I found a similar group £100 for 15 lessons.

I think Water Babies prices are a rip-off and a lot of the mums at our group have avoided them due to the fees they charge. Hopefully you can find a cheaper group locally - it took me quite a bit of searching as the cheaper ones don't do much advertising. However both me and LO love it - she has so much fun (she doesn't mind going under water nor her face being splashed) and it really tires her out - a good nights sleep is guaranteed!
  • Bangton glad you're doing better and have some good support around you. :)

re moving LO into own room - about 4 months here as he outgrew the crib. I spent a fair few months sleeping most nights in his room to avoid disturbing OH during nightfeeds though.

Nutella yay for the good sleep! Must be something in the air - G slept through til 6.20 last night, no wake ups at all! He's already been up once tonight though so I don't expect a repeat.

I found the local meet a mum section on netmums really good - met a couple of mums on there when G was 10 weeks old and we meet up every week at softplay now. It is a bit hit and miss depending on area though.

Sure I meant to reply to something else too, but its gone. Will probably be back in about 2 minutes when I remember!

hope it gets better for you, looks like you're joining me in the countdown until our LO's digestive system matures enough to deal with the wind.

That is so true - it took a good 2-3 months for my LO to stop screaming after a feed. Now she seems to fart it out.

You feel so helpless at the time so hugs cleofish. Maybe its worth talking to your doctor to see if there is something they can give LO to at least ease the wind.

As for what we do (I don't breastfeed so not sure I would have been welcomed at the bf cafes!!!) - we go swimming, lots of coffee and cake with friends who cannot wait to hold baby (which is great by me as I don't get much time away from her otherwise!), meet up with some other mums met at the childrens centre, we also have attended baby massage and first aid courses, and there is a singing group at our local library that I am going to sign up to. Otherwise, we wander into town, or just go for a "tree walk" (LO loves looking up at trees!!!).
  • I knew it!

Swimming - I just take G on my own, the lessons are too expensive around here. Although there is a pool a bit further away that does a mum and baby session where you do your own thing but an instructor is there if you want advice. Might be worth calling round your local pools.

Nutella (the spread, not the poster!) - I love nutella but I don't like nuts. According to my OH that means I'm weird. Opinions?

Hmmm....sounds like my love of coffee things (icecream, cake, frappes) but I absolutely hate a cup of coffee!:p
  • Hi guys :)

Cleofish, big hugs. We have all been there. I used to nap with A too and used a carrier as he was a very cuddly baby. My HV was fab if I had concerns, obvs some people dont get on with thiers but if you do try explaining to them how you are finding it.

We moved A into his own room at 5mnths, I needed it tbh, we have very creaky floorboards and he was a light sleeper. Each to thier own though, not sure when I would have done it if we hadnt had creaky floors!!

Hope the LOs sleep through. Mine still has the rash on his knees, its on his elbows too so I think I may have to pay the dr another visit. Fine in himself though.

I am shattered tonight, struggling to keep on top of washing and ironing atm.

    Night x x x x

Im weird too then, I hate all nuts but like nutella.

I hate coffee though, in all formats. Which is a pain as I like the sound of the xmas costas and starbucks but always have to go for a hot choc which isnt as adventurous!

My local pool does this. Aqua tots here, £3.75 for an hour and they have floats, rings and toys and an instructor if you want them. I love it, so does A. x x
