Afternoon all
Our swimming day today - LO loves it; I've started having to take a little "toy" with to distract her whilst I dress her after as she cries to go back in the water. Today the "toy" was my glasses casehehe
Hmm, on clothing sizes, I think it is not helped by different stores having differing sizes (or sometimes even the same store having differing sized clothes in the same size). Anyway, just as we have big adults and little adults, we'll have big little ones and little little ones. Mine is currently fitting mostly into 6-9month clothes which is she what she should be doing. I bought a waterproof/windproof all in one thing in size 6-9months from one store, and my 18 month old niece can fit into it  It drowns A!!! My friend gave me a 9-12month one from another store, and that fits her almost perfectly...
On Christmas Stockings, I bought A one of these whilst on holiday. The name slips into the stocking. We have a false fireplace - we don't actually have a chimney! OH wants to get rid of the fireplace, and I said where would we put A's stocking - OH looked at me like I was daft; apparently a stocking is ALWAYS put at the foot of the bed/cot!
On dummies, I never wanted A to have one but OH did on advice from one of his sisters. We did try her with one a couple of times when she was younger, and each time she spat it out in disgust :j so I've left it; she obviously doesn't want one. Hehe I daren't try her again though
On bedtimes, A used to go down about half 10, and over the past few months this has crept forward - something she has done herself until she's been pretty regular going down between 8 and 9 for the past few months, and then the last few weeks tending to go between 7:30 and 8:30. I've started a much stricter bedtime routine this week with the aim of her being in bed, asleep by 8pm. It's only been two nights so far, but so far so goodPart of enforcing a stricter bedtime is because I want her to start having dinner with us in the evenings; so dinner, bath, story, bf, cot.

I started at six months. Around 11 months I'd say he was eating consistently. It's a slow process with a small change week by week. It doesn't really go from not eating to eating overnight."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
I didn't want Eilis to take a dummy but somehow she ended up with one so I've gone with it. I read somewhere that if she's used to it then not to take it off her 'till 6 months cause there's links to cot death?
Well about 4pm when Eilis was sleeping I started being horribly sick with a blinding headache. Thankfully I'd recovered a bit by the time she woke but we hung out in the bathroom 'till daddy came home. And, bless her, my mum came over and bundled her into the car and said I can get her back tomorrow when I'm feeling better, love my mummy. My Debt Free Diary

At what point should I become concerned at the amount my 5 week old is screaming? It's been 2 days non stop when not sleeping and maximum 3 hours between feeds when she was going 4 at the beginning of the week. Have been trying to wind her really thoroughly but nothing will cheer her up. I'm burnt out and hubby takes her as soon as he's back from work then goes to bed at 10/11 most while I stay downstairs BFing in the dark with an inconsolable baby until 1/2 am. Could there be something wrong with her or just a growth spurt? She's been such a placid lovely baby before this!0

Does she have a temperature or has anything else changed such as the number of wet nappies or her poo?0

another question: what are your thoughts on dummies? LO has started thumbsucking when crying. OH said thumbsucking changed the shape of his teeth. The good thing about dummies is that you can take them away and they can be 'orthodontic approved'.
Lamaze toys are absolutely fab! We have Jacques the Peacock, Freddie the Firefly (everyone seems to have one of these!), the Panda rattle and this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Learning-Curve-LC27126-Classic-Discovery/dp/B002WN2AKG/ref=sr_1_15?ie=UTF8&qid=1384981428&sr=8-15&keywords=lamaze (which has been the most used so far - LO loves it!). Edit: nearly forgot we also have the chime flowerpot - this is fab - I love it as much as LO - says from 6 months but we've been using from 3 months and its definitely growing in popularity with LO! I am going to attach it to her cot when she in in her own room.
However, this http://www.kiddicare.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/productdisplay0_10751_-1_32847_10001 been the most popular toy and I would really recommend it as its so versatile - we use it on the pram, and the car seat, the toys can be taken off which can help when you are out and about - LO's interest in it has grown and grown. I swear its the thing that has made her happy in her pram longer than some of the other babies I know (some of them at the same age as my LO are already in their pushchairs as they hate lying down - I want LO to stay lying down in her pram, as recommended, until she is 6 months).
Dummies - I hate them - I was allowed one when I was little for too long and it made my teeth stick out so I had to have a brace. To be honest, I bought some just in case (in case of what, I don't know....but you do these sorts of things when you are pregnant don't you!) - but they are still in their packet unused. She is teething at the moment but seems happy to suck on her fists!
Claree - hope you feel better soon! What a lovely mummy you have! (I am very jealous!)0 -
No temperature and about 3/4 pooey and wet nappies each today. She's sleeping on OH now, he's settled her last screaming fit in 5 minutes when I haven't been able to all day. Feeling nervous about getting no sleep again tonight0

*hugs* for the lack of sleep and constant screaming. I can't really offer you any advice as I never bf but if you are at all worried - I would make an appointment to see your doctor. It could be just a growth spurt - but feeding every 3 hours doesn't sound excessive for a bf baby, could be colic (although I'm no expert - some of the other ladies will know loads more than me) , or it could just be a crappy few days. I would try and have some sleep (easy to say I know) and see how LO is in the morning. If no better, book an appointment with doctors - get in before the weekend - if only to put your mind at ease.0 -

It could be reflux, it could be colic, it could just be the way she is at this moment in time. My LO was a constant screamer too and I know know know how draining it can be, if you feel you are getting worked up and need a minute just place LO somewhere safe, make sure she has a clean bum and go and have afew minutes. She will be fine and you will feel better for it. Have you tried co sleeping? Wearing a sling? Does she settle in the pram/car? My LO would sleep alot better in the pram or carseat in the early days.
If you have concerns, talk to your dr or hv hun x x x x xLittle Man born 11 March 2012 :smileyhea

Hugs for the lots of crying, hope it improves soon.
We're big fans of Lamaze toys here too, Captain Calamari is on his pushchair, and good for chewing!
We have never done dummies, I personally am not a fan, was a bit worried as thought he was becoming a thumb sucker. But he seems to have grown out of it now.
Clothes sizes are very varied, aren't they? T has some things he's upto 12 months and only just grown out of the M&S 0-3 sleepsuits!
