Awww, that's fab
I can so imagine the two of you jumping around when he's a bit older! My little one (18 months) points to the speakers when she wants to listen to music, and the moment I switch it on she starts to dance and spin around
I keep having to remember he's only small so can't head bang yet :rotfl:
This is DD2 at about 1 1/4 years old. Both DD's love my sort of music which is greatCongrats neneromanova, another baby Edward
although our's is now Ted most of the time.
DH's granddad was a Ted so I think it would upset people if we called him Ted. I personally only like it being Edward or Eddie myself. I'll kill anyone who calls him Ed :rotfl:

Congrats nene (who is going to do the posts on the preggie forum now??!!)
Oh dear....good luck with the dummy removal nutella! I am told of the tantrums I used to cause when mine was taken away....!
Not a good day for me so far.....I am still suffering from post-birth health issues....today I had my internal piles banded (TMI I know sorry!) - and they couldn't get the bands right so this unforgiving bloke shoved their camera up "there" 3 times - literally shoving! It honestly felt like I was having birth contractions all over again. I now feel like my stomach has been kicked in. Wish I hadn't googled "banding" as I'm sure that's made things worse!
I honestly wish that I had gone for a "sunroof" birth but there you go....you never know whats going to happen at the time. I had their idealistic home water birth planned......
On a positive note, my bargain sleeping bags arrived today - wehay!
Oh....does anyone know why I can't use smilies in my posts anymore.....have I over-used them and been banned from using any more or something...??!!0 -
I'm still waiting for my sleeping bags, impatiently I might add!
We have the lamaze space play mat, she liked it for a while but she's not been in the mood to play with it lately. Had a big dirty nappy last night - never thought I'd be so happy to clean up poo! - and she's had another today so fingers crossed giving her water is helping, she won't take it from a bottle though so I've had to use a syringe, she's not keen!
Feeling better today so text step dad to say he can bring her home and he's told me he's keeping her 'till my mum gets in, no arguments - that'll be that then!My Debt Free Diary

Thank youWe already get massive tantrums if she can see a dummy and isn't allowed to have it, so they're all hidden away. But every now and then I forget one somewhere (e.g. in the buggy) and she finds it and all hell breaks loose. I honestly can't imagine her ever sleeping without one
I'm contemplating waiting until she's old enough to understand a bit more so we can talk about it - that's what my parents did with me. I also read about someone who cut off the tip of every dummy in the house so they 'didn't work anymore' and their child lost interest!
Sorry you've had a  day (but yay for sleeping bags).0 -
Thank you

Thank you. Actually I was told of a rather good story that someone used - I don't know if you could do this but on Xmas Eve.....take the dummy in the middle of the night....and explain that santa replaced the dummy with a sackful of pressies. The pressies made the child completely forget about the dummy apparently.....!0 -
Massive congrats nene! He is gorgeous
My DS is nearly 3 and still has his dummy at night time and for his afternoon nap. I've tried taking it away but he just screams and will not go to sleep
I know we are going to have to get tough soon, but I just can't bring myself to do it at the moment
Hope everyone is doing well. I haven't had a chance to read back. had a bit of a family crisis recently which has taken up a lot of everyone's headspace.
DD is doing really well and is 13 weeks old already! Time is flying by..I don't want her to grow up too quickly!Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -
congratulations nene, Edward is a lovely name and he is gorgeous
thanks for the replies, I have ordered Freddie Firefly from Amazon which will take a while to get here via super snail delivery. I'm tempted by the inchworm as I was considering the mamas and papas tummy time toy. little un has a minute of tummy time on a nursing c shaped cushion but seems unhappy about it.
I think I'll just use dummy for night time if he doesn't settle - usually he does settle. Last night he woke up as I was putting him into moses basket so I used the cot mobile to settle him (moses basket is now in cot bed).
LO got weighed and he's dropped a little in percentiles despite gaining 12oz in 2 weeks!!! I must be doing something right but still worried. I'm gonna give him plenty of boob and take fenugreek (supposed to increase milk supply) again.
Hi MV, glad DD is a good baby for you. Hope DS doesn't miss dummy too much.
IhateDida - ouch! so sorry to hear you've had such bad afterbirth issues.
Claree - congrats on the big poo. LO has just gone from a weekly poo to once every 3 days and I'm still glad to see that runny peanut butter!
lazywife - hope the new influx of toys keeps LO amused
Nutella - how cute to have a dancing LO
lobey - glad LO is better. I'm not sure why a lot of babies have this inbuilt digestion defect which leaves them screaming - some sort of parent test?
MrsHaworth - hope you survived work on such little sleep
Gilly those muffins sound delicious0 -
Welcome and congrats nene
I hav had a busy few days so haven't been online, I had quite along reply this morning but I lost it grrrr trying to remember it
Thanks for all the info on activities, we are trying out quite alot and ill only go back to those we enjoy
Nessie great find on the clothes, we got bags of stuff from
My cousin u don't think I will be buying c anything for the next couple of yearsI did the baby massage class I enjoyed it and it is nice to do with DS now
Cleo big hugs for such a stressful time, is there anyone who can give you a break for a couple of hours to give yourself a chance to recharge?
Lobey, 4 hours between feeds is alot at that age. DS feeds only started stretching at 8/9 weeks. I would consider offering the breast more often during the day it might help her settle duri g the late evening / night. You mentioned before you had issues with oversupply so feeding more frequently will help reduce that and she may not suck quite so vigorously if she is not ravenous. I find feeding ds lying down helps him settle
Mrsb hugs for tough nights I hope it improves for you
AFm we had two fussy evenings followed by 2 good nights sleep. We had c's 3 month check and he is doing well. His weight is fine, he has dropped from the 50th percentile at birth weight to between the 25th and 50th but he was in the 9th percentile at 6 weeks so am happy it's going in the right direction. I think he is a lean by like his daddy!
MV hugs for family issues
Benice ds has a dummy mostly to relax him when he has gas and when he is screaming in the car. I never give it to him to delay a feed eg if he is fussy I always offer milk before the dummy
Clare hugs for being ill, glad you are feeling better
Ihatedida hugs for a nasty day
This post isn't very coherent but wanted to get it all out before I lose it again0 -
Fisherprice rainforest gym is now £29.99 at Amazon! comes with lots of detachable toys like a rattle too which you can use on other stuff like bouncers! http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000FFL58Q/ref=nosim0

Just a quick one as watching Homeland and don't want to miss anything.
Nutella - re taking dummies away, I've heard of a few people that had success with telling LO that other little babies needed dummies but couldn't find any, and then collecting them together and 'sending' them off. Might need to wait til she's a little older to grasp the concept though.Newborn thread member
