    Mine was a tasteful maroon!:D

Anyone else had any problems with Metanium nappy rash cream? LO had a bit of a rash a few days ago so I applied some of this - as anyone who uses it knows, it tends to stick well. Anyway, it seemed to stick to a couple of places in particular even after wiping and washing her bum. Today, I noticed its made a raw patch appear and I feel terrible. We've used it before and had no problems.

I have applied some Bepathen which seems a bit more gentle (or should I have just left it alone?) - but I am shocked at what the Metanium has done. I let her have a kick around without a nappy on for a bit this morning - but I am wondering whether to take her to see a nurse tomorrow - could they give me anything for it or will it just clear up? It looks really sore and raw :(
  • Sorry Ihatdida I can't help, that cream actually cleared my Los bum, it was red raw and then I used it and it's cleared up so kind of the opposite to you sorry.

Well on your suggestions I've now bought lo's swimming gear and will pick up some swimming nappies tomorrow when I go asda. Lo tried egg tonight and the faces he pulled were funny.. Then he gagged! :)

Can't wait to go swimming with my lo he absolutely loves splashing in the bath so it's going to be fun.

Is anyone watching im a celeb tonight? I'm looking forward to it!

MrsH it may be worth taking one of his bath toys just in case the size of the pool/ new environment phases him. The familiarity of a toy may help the first couple times. I have to say, swimming is my favourite activity with A.
  • Hi Ladies

    I'm watching I'm a Celeb Mrsh!! I love it :o

I always use Metanium and have never had any problems with it, sorry your LO hasn't got on with it though. I've heard Bepathen is supposed to be good also.

Well, I posted yday about spots on LO's knees that the doc said was viral, well they have now appeared on his elbows?! Ever so weird!! He is absolutely fine in himself, apart from a usual nursery cold. His chesty cough has cleared with the inhaler so I don't know what it is. I think I will take him to nursery tomorrow as I have checked with the Dr and they said he was fine, will see how we go though. OH wants to take him back if they haven't cleared so will see how he is in the morning.

Hope everyone is well :) Nutella, we had a baking day too, we did biscuits and some savoury muffins. Yum.

Better get myself up to bed after Im a Celeb....I hate Sunday nights and Monday mornings!!

    xx

Thanks Sunshine - I can't understand why LO has suddenly reacted to it.

Talking about viral spots/rashes - LO has only just got rid of hers (we rushed her in to a Sunday clinic thinking it was something sinister) - we were also told it was viral - and it took nearly 3 weeks to go! They virtually disappeared in the morning and reappeared as the day went on! I have also spoken with someone else who said there's has something similar. I never realised a viral rash was so common in children. Hope your LO's spots clear up soon.

Edit...I don't know if anyone else has seen this post in the grabbit forum: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4822516 but they have some lovely natural baby products - I have just bought a bath gel, shampoo and 3 packs of wipes for £5! (sorry that I might be encouraging you all to spend...but it seems rather a bargain to me....!)
  • Can someone explain why it's my fault that my lo is now waking up for me getting up for work at 6? Even though I tiptoe out the room, leave my clothes next to the door? Just had such a moody oh have a go because lo keeps waking up at this time,...... By keeps waking at this time he means 3 times in the last week? Arrggghhh put me on such a bad mood, I'm only doing this job to stay at home with my lo so much, which we both agreed on! Now he's being pooy with me about it and I'm annoyed!

    Sorry!

    Morning ladies enjoy your day!

Eilis stayed at the inlaws on Saturday - they got on really well by all accounts. MIL got her up at 5am though, really not sure why! Sometimes she does wake around then (or not wake but make noises anyway) but give her a dummy and she'll go right back to sleep. The sceptic in me thinks MIL might have wanted a cigarette...sorry, I'll stop!

Tiny little issue but mil, fil and oh (to an extent) are OBSESSED with teething. Every time she cries they mention it. She's 3 months old and has showed no symptoms of teething!!

Anyway, they got on lovely, had 3 bottles by 1pm though, she only usually has 4 in a day! Took her to my grans as normal for dinner and she slept right though from 4 till 7. Kept waking in the night though, I was up giving her her dummy at least once an hour from 1am, nightmare! Hoping she was just a bit unsettled after her confusing day.

Anyway, I'll leave this self indulgent post here!

Morning all, hope everyone had a nice weekend. We had a busy weekend, still trying to get the last few bits in the house sorted out before c'd christening.

DH is really stressed, my MIL is very ill, she was diagnosed with bone cancer when c was 6 days old. We bought a tumbly done house just before C was born, we only had time and money to do the basics before the birth so trying to get the nursery sorted and some carpets on the floor. I feel awful that he is so stressed but at times I want to kill him! I do all the night feeds and try to keep C ins routine. So last night at 9 when I asked him to help settle c he decides to play with him on his playmat and hands me back a wired baby who didn't settle till almost midnight. Am shattered today as he was up @ 1, 3, 5 and 7.

To top it off C is a bit colicly, we can have hours of crying in the evening / afternoon. I mentioned to a friend and was meet with a long rendition of how amazing her baby is! On the way home c cried the whole way and was very upset for the rest of the night, last time I visit that particular friend for a while. C really hates the car, I can't believe I upset him so much to go visit someone who was a complete cow to me!

    Hope everyone is well :)
