Nessie my doc actually said only need to wash off if LO doesn't like the taste. Initially I did wash off using cotton wool wipes but after a bit didn't as my LO didn't seem to mind.0

Morning ladies
Sorry I havent been about much. Been at docs with LO, he has a cluster of raised spots on each of his knees...very odd. Dr putting it down to viral as he is very chesty. He upped his inhaler but I am not convinced, not sure why they would just be on his knees!!??
Hope we are all well. Frantic here trying to pack up for the move.
Enjoy swimming Mrsh, we love it. Cant think of anything else you may need, I started going when he was teeny and used to wear a pair of flip flops incase the floor was slippery but I only wore them afew times before I stopped worrying.Little Man born 11 March 2012 :smileyhea

morning
hope everyone had some sleep last night
I didn't get much at the NCT sale - all the bouncers & rockers had gone and I didn't think much of the clothing. I got him 2 sleeping bags in 6-12 months for £3 each and a pair of tigger jeans for £1. I think I'll try volunteering at one to grab the early bargains (volunteers get half an hour before everyone else) but probably when we do need stuff like clothes.
The Christmas lights were fun. It was hard moving round crowds with a pushchair and I kept getting people's feet. Like a silly person I forgot hat and gloves for LO - luckily I had a spare hat and the sleepsuit had scratchmitts. I did worry a lot cos he was out in the cold for 2 hours plus he'd just had his vaccines. He seems fine now. He slept straight through the fireworks! In fact he just slept. We went home about 6:30 so I slightly messed up his feeding routine.
Thanks for the advice about swimming. There's an offer of free swimming lessons at a nearby sports centre so I'm considering them. I'd like LO to be a confident swimmer as I'm so rubbish!
nessie what a daft doctor! my nipples are sore but not burning and I nurse for an hour every 3 hours! And I know it's cos my latch is not quite right. Gotta love the Lansinoh!
IhateDida I already have a bouncer that LO loves - it's fisher price woodsy with a toybar. I was just hoping for one to go upstairs if I need to do jobs upstairs and also something I can put in the car if I'm visiting people. The bouncer is the only thing that works if he's really unsettled with wind so it's an essential for me! I'm borrowing a simple one today from a friend's sister.
We've just installed a cot mobile with a light show and that seems to amuse LO - fisher price precious planets from amazon for £20. It's gone up in price but I would recomend it. The music is actually nice and it comes with a remote control
Nutella I want a go on that adult bouncer!
I'm on a bit of downer as OH gets time off to do his hobby whereas I don't. I get time off to sleep or buy stuff for baby! I'm planning a visit to a friend today and it's so tricky trying to schedule feeds cos he takes an hour each time. Plus I'm dreading him getting windy and unsettled which is why I want a portable bouncer.
On a more positive note, LO is letting me have some time off to write this long post so things must be good!0 -
Afternoon all
Hope everyone's well and enjoying their weekends. Good one here so far - went to our 'other language' playgroup yesterday. LO loves it and protests loudly when we have to leave (only for her to then fall asleep within approx. 30 seconds of getting into the buggy... :rotfl:).
LO and I made banana bread this morning, and had some for our mid-morning snack. It was still warm - yum yum! Have also baked bread and removed a massive binbag's worth of dead leaves and rotten pears from the back garden, so am feeling rather pleased with myself!
On swimming, if anyone's planning to start with Water Babies, make sure you do so before your LO is 12 months old. We went swimming when she was younger (not with WB, just a singing & splashing session in our local pool), and when I called WB the other day to ask about availability as I'd like us to start 'proper' swimming, I was told they couldn't offer us anything as LO's too old for a beginners' class  She's 18 months, so I was told she wouldn't be able to keep up with the age appropriate group and would be too big for the beginners' group, so sorry, they can't help. They did, however, say that they're considering starting a beginners' class for older children due to 'significant demand', and I've found a pool nearby that we can go and splash about it on my day off, but still.... Boo!
LO's waking up from her nap.... Have a good day all x0 -
By the way, did anyone see Prince George's new pram? Can you tell they're never going to have to worry about taking it on London buses? :rotfl:0

Nice! My first thought was that it looks like they got it from a car boot sale :eek:
Little miss chucked up at 2.30 this morning all over her bed and everywhereluckily that was the only time and the GP did say the cough might make her be sick.
We have dermol and doublebase for eczema, but now it's cold none of mine have it, only my younger 2 ever do and it seems to be a hot weather thing!Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

Glad to know I'm not the only one who thought that! :rotfl::rotfl:
So we've put stair gates up today; we've a very large lounge/dining room with a doorway into the kitchen and have put one there - restricting both kitchen and stair access, and another at the top of the stairs. My cat seems to have forgotten she is a cat and can jump and is acting as though she is shut in the living room  I'm hoping she remembers she is capable of jumping and gets on with it soon! She's too fat to squeeze through the bars
And proud mommy alert A can sit herself up independentlyand has been practicing all afternoon. Where is my little baby disappearing too?!
Hope we've all had a lovely afternoon0 -

Hi ladies!
Looking forward to using all the advice for LO's first swimming trip, think I will wait until after Christmas for that so OH can help me handle logistics!
Bottle experiment mark 2 has gone down way better today, minimal screaming and happy baby afterwards, I sat in the other room and pumped, thanks Katiechoc for that advice! She has her first reusable nappy on too so an exciting day for us (!).
Anyone else's LO have a red pustuley looking rash from 2 weeks onwards? A still has hers and health visitor said it was probably a milk rash but at certain times of the day, usually after BF, it flares up angrily again and will fade a little while after. Doesn't seem to be heat rash as we're not overdressing her. Just wondering if it was something I'm eating.0
